Hotel Clarks exceeded my expectations. The room I booked was a bit small but what exceeded everything was the hospitality provided by the staff to housekeeping. The breakfast spread is awesome. I do like Vintage hotels like Oberoi Kolkata, Ashoka Hotel Delhi similar is this property. Constructed in 1951 the essence and vibe of the property and its staff is what is bound to exceed anyone's expectations. Also location being in Cantonment area is a bit away from the noise of Varanasi.

The size of the room we got.

Lovely hotel which the late Queen stayed in 1960. Still has old Colonial feel. Food excellent and the chef accommodated our requirements. Central enough to reach the ghats and old town in tuk tuk or taxi but situated outside the noise and crowds. Lovely garden and secluded pool.

The 1951 restaurant and bar were lovely and quiet with low Indian music. Some mornings and evenings we had to use a much larger room to accommodate more people. There was live drum and sitar at breakfast and electronic instruments and singing at dinner. The acoustics in the room made normal conversation difficult, even with the drum/sitar. They kindly let us use the bar for our dinner the next night as the music was even louder. Many guests probably enjoyed this, but we didn’t. I think a ‘quiet’ zone for people to eat in is required.

A good hotel in the new part of Varanasi. Rooms are large and comfortable. Location is great for exploring the new town. Traffic means it's not ideal if you want to visit the older part of town and the ghats Helpful and welcoming staff It has a lovely pool .

Rooms are a bit tired. The room hadn't been cleaned properly but they fixed that quickly.

An oasis of calm in a very busy city. Staff is truly exceptional, especially the luggage handlers and dining room staff Anlipam and Sunil Yoseu. If you like colonial-era feeling hotels with the gentle charm of bygone years, then you should consider Clark’s Varanasi. We’re extremely happy we did.

The location is pretty good. I got an upgrade and the staff is friendly and co-operative. A special mention to the duty manager Mr. Shashank Singh who went out of his way to return my phone charger personally to me after his duty ended, which I had forgotten in the hotel after checking-out. This goes beyond the call of duty and showcases his dedication to his work. Kudos!

I liked the hospitality of the staff, very courteous and polite. Mr Sanjeev Singh from Reservations helped me for smooth check in and check out. The food quality was good with many option. The room was extremely clean and hygienic.

They should serve proper tea during breakfast instead of tea bags. Rest everything was excellent. My stay was very comfortable and pleasant. Value for money!

Liked the chilled detox water at the reception, Receptionist was well mannered and greeted me well and to my surprise remembered my name every time. staff was courteous and hospitable.

bathroom exhaust was not working. no central console for room lights hence had to get up and ON/OFF all the lights one by one.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was friendly.

This is one if the oldest luxury hotel of thr city and it has definately started showing its age. Having said that its not that terrible. We has a comfortable stay.

Very busy hotel with tour groups which is ok as they managed them ok but we tend to avoid tour groups where possible

Sure it’s old and run down but it’s still great!! Varanasi is full on and it’s nice to get a little reprieve from its ‘hecticness’ Pool & garden great. Shame pool was dirty. Didn’t stop my kids :-/

Pool needed to be cleaned. It’s far from the Ganges due to traffic but we still had plenty of time down by the river.
