Good value for a stay for a night or 2 in Singapore with all the essential requirements with clean facilities and helpful staff - the 24hr desk or on-line check-in ideal for those arriving on late flights. The 10min walk from train station is mainly under cover on smooth surfaces.

Location seems to be in a lower socioeconomic and Red Light district so men get ‘offers’ when walking at night. As we knew this from research and were prepared, it was not a problem (a bit of a laugh really) and we didn’t feel insecure when together.

Value for money, not the nicest hotel but good for what we paid. Located a little far out of the city centre to be able to walk but public transport and Grab cars easy to access. Staff were polite and made check in easy and allowed us to store our bags for the day before check in too. Facilities were clean and good AC. Great option for us as a young group of budget travellers who wanted to stay in a hotel rather than a hostel.

Shower head sprayed almost horizontally so would wet the bathroom floor. Rooms were tiny, especially for 3 people but fine for us just being there to sleep and shower. We also were told be a taxi driver that the Kallang area isn’t always the safest place at night but the street the hotel was on should be fine.

The Emerald is convenient to the subway, street food, and is an easy drive from the airport. The addition of the fresh orange juice machine outside the front entrance is a great way to allow guests to have a bit of breakfast at the hotel before venturing out.

We were two, travelling together but in separate rooms. My colleague had a room that had air conditioning (or some other source of a smell) that was impossible for me to tolerate. It smelled very strongly of moth balls. He was not up to changing rooms, but I would have found it impossible to stay there. My room was fine. We did report the room smell to the front desk before leaving, so hopefully it is fixed. We have stayed there once before and didn't have any problem with a room smell.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner. The room was very simple and had all we needed (except an iron which the front desk happily lent us). It was a clean and fuss-free experience, and a short walk away from some restaurants and a couple of minimarts.

After speaking with some locals, we did come to realise that this is located in/near what some call the ‘red district’ area. We didn’t feel particularly unsafe, though if we had known we probably would have picked a different location. You can tell from when you book, but also just flagging again that it’s a 10-15 minute walk to the train station.

The room and the bathroom was clean. Not the best area of Singapore, but the center is easly accessible with taxi or public transport. The price was a bit high, but considering prices in Singapore afterall I could say it was still reasonable.

You could hear the noises from the corridor in the room. Guests were quite loud arriving in their rooms in the middle of the night, but I guess it's not the hotel's fault.

The hotel and room were of a high standard. We stayed twice for 3 nights each time. Overall, it was very good value. There are lots of cheap local places to eat out. The staff were very helpful.

The first room (room 216) had the bed in a corner, as it was the only way a double bed would fit. This room also had some plumbing noises to contend with. The other room was 301, so nearer the lift, but quieter, and you could get round the bed on both sides. The location is a 10 or 12 minute walk from Kallang MRT. This was fine, as we mainly went out, but a bit of a trek, if you wanted to return during the day, to get changed or have a rest (jetlag!)

The staff was extremely attentive and willing to help us. It had the facilities and supplies offered. The location wasn't central, but it had very good connections to public transportation.

We didn't realize the rooms didn't have refrigerators, which in our case was necessary for storing medications. I should point out that the hotel didn't offer one, but if we had realized it earlier, we might have looked for another option.

Same hotel booked on way back to Europe. Again a clean room with comfortable bed, good bathroom and with nice friendly staf. To hotel: instead of 10 min walk from the metro station Kallang, take the bus from Aljunied station (ask for buss numbers at metro station) From the hotel: you can also use the bus for a few stops to Kallang station. (Or walk for 10 minutes.) Close to city center and airport.

No comments, since the way to the hotel I used the bus now, instead of walking with my luggage. Perhaps this should/could be mentioned more clearly while booking(?), for first time arrivals.

The property is a great value for its price. It is near a lot of restaurants and near the bus stops so there was no hassle in commuting and finding your way. It was very convenient because the property is near Singapore Indoor Stadium; it is perfect if you will watch a concert. Our room is very clean and the perfect size for 2 people. They have all your basic necessities and everything was functioning as expected. The property also has vending machines in front so if you need a quick fix, you can just buy from there. The staff are very pleasant and friendly! They have a 24-hour front desk; we called in for late check-in and they assured us that it’s fine. Overall, this property is highly recommended.

Really very good hotel if you take price/quality into consideration! Good location, buses and metro are in 5 mins walk, which is perfect to go to the downtown or to the airport. Everyday cleaning, free water. Good air conditioner. Not noisy hotel. Neighbor location is good. a lot of small groceries, cafes and old buildings! Highly recommended if you are looking for the accommodation for reasonable price!
