Strongly recommend this place. In fact it is a complex of appartements, rooms are part of these appartments but with perfect privacy. The complex is in nice brick architecture and perfectly maintained garden. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a nice shared living room. Rooms have private bathrooms and really nice terrace. The terrace is an extremely beautiful place - perfect greenery, privacy, birds singing... I just could stop taking picture of this place. Having coffee or dinner surrounded with this beauty ang quietness is really one of the best experience in Kigali. Thank you Salama for this experience! The staff is so nice and helpful. They prepared me coffee every day, very very responsive to all my question prior and during my visit.

No problems with that place. I didn't have problems with mosquitoes at all. Well, the place is not new, not luxury, but gives feeling of high standard home. Do not hesitate, this place provide great value for the price.

Nice place in a calm area, great staff as they go an extra mile making sure you have a comfortable stay. Junior was super helpful and always on hand with every request I had, I had some last minute changes with my program and the team was very flexible to accommodate my request. highly recommended!

privacy, big bedrooms with a great hot shower. Quiet place, nice trees around. Very clean. Big delicious breakfast. Super friendly and helpful staff.

I would have liked to have the option of having lunch or dinner at the place. There is the option of ordering in.

The room was very nice, the bed very comfortable. The terrace is nice. Accommodation is located in a good area, although you have to walk to get the moto to the main road. The place is very clean and the area around apartments is nice.

I have been twice in Salama village and I had twice the problem with my room. I was supposed to have Deluxe one, but the first time they did not check properly. The second time they announced that my room will be prepared the next day. After i insisted, they prepared the room I booked. The stuff at the place does not speak English. It is very difficult to communicate anything. I asked if the payment with a card is possible before my arrival. I had a message confirming this type of payment. But I was asked to pay cash straight after arrival. It stressed me out as I had no cash prepared. Also, I have never met this situation to pay after arrival. It was all inconvenient and strongly uncomfortable. No payment with a card is possible I was told. The owner said the card machine is broken (just two days after he confirmed i can pay with a card).. There is no ATM nearby. The water in the shower was cold. I was told in 5 minutes the water will heat which took one hour and half. As I had my plans going on, this really ruined it for me.

Convenient and spacious

The highlight of our stay was watching the many birds visiting the pot of water on the terrace outside the glass doors of our room. The garden around the buildings has many trees providing a very pleasant setting (and attracting the birds 😊). The king-size bed was very comfortable.

The general condition of the building was quite poor. In our room the paint and plaster was bulging away from the wall, obviously from a water leak, and the cupboards didn't seem to have been cleaned since the water leak (possibly reoccurring when it rains). The door to our room couldn't be locked and there was no hot water in the bathroom. The manager eventually came to investigate (more than 24 hours after our arrival) and we were told to use the bathroom in another room. Curtains were torn and there were holes in some of the insect screens on the windows. The mosquito net wasn't made for a king-size bed and so was get tricky to get to stay in place. The bedside lamp didn't have a plug that fitted the socket! The whole place really needed some attention and renovation and then it could really be a pleasant place to stay, though we understand that Covid is making it hard for accommodation owners to keep investing in their premises due to lack of clients. One last thing... the manager seemed to have a succession of friends coming to visit, using a terraced area just the other side of the wall to our room. They kept up loud and lively discussions until late, disturbing the otherwise peaceful night.
