The property is nicely tucked away in the valley, close enough to Soufriere, but also far enough away for it to feel more relaxing. Breakfast buffet every morning was amazing and changed daily. We loved out little cabin with the outdoor pool and shower. So romantic and relaxing. The view from our cabin was absolutely incredible and the staff were so friendly! Next time we're back we will absolutely stay here again.

Lot of stairs and ramps connect the villas on property. Not a problem for us, but accessibility would be a concern for those less able-bodied. We rented a car, which made staying here perfect, but without one getting around & to the property would be challenging as you would need to rely on their shuttle service/taxis.

We spent a fantastic week at this resort to relax and recharge. A lush and tranquil place, exactly as we imagined it to be before our travel to Saint Lucia. Our room was very spacious and clean, with a modern bathroom and a small kitchenette. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast every morning, and ate lunch and/or dinner on a daily basis, all offered a la carte (English, American, Caribbean) or as a buffet with good food choices, complemented with local juices and desserts. The beautiful rustic restaurant is surrounded by lots of greenery complete with mango trees, cocoa, banana, palms, etc, and visited by a variety of birds, including hummingbirds. We spent most of our time on the property, taking advantage of the large and three small pools, reading in the shade under the palapa, which also offers a small library of books. We hiked the trail loop (although somewhat steep, it should take less than an hour), with an amazing view of the Petit Piton. We also took the daily complimentary shuttle, a 15-min ride to Sugar Beach, with a nice beach and restaurants. Our special thanks to the friendly and helpful staff at the reception, room service, the waiters, cooks, drivers, chocolate tour staff, gift shop, and maintenance!

Amazing to be right in the rainforest. The walk up to view the Piton (forget which one) was easily accessible. We also walked down to the sulphur springs (probably not advisable as walking on the main road is a bit hairy, but it was only about 40 minutes and we survived). Pools were good, clean and quiet whenever we visited. Clean pool towels are available at reception. Only one restaurant on site, but it was decent. We ate there both nights we stayed. The restaurant and bar staff were all really friendly. We had a room rather than a cabin, it was simple but clean and had everything we needed. Overall really our stay. Free range chickens, cats, other birds of all kinds and lizards on site.

The resort is a bit tired and some areas could do with better maintenance. Some bridges in the forest are a bit rickety for instance. Maybe it adds to the overall rustic charm, but it’s definitely on the basic/simple side. Didn’t impact our stay, perhaps would be a bigger issue if staying longer. Shuttle goes to sugar beach daily. We didn’t use it, as apparently it only goes once a day, so you’re kind of stuck there all day till it goes back again. Might be nice if it also went into Soufriere or other local places as the resort is very isolated.

Beautiful resort in the middle of a cocoa plantation that does a good job at preserving the historical look & feel of the place. Spacious and comfortable cottage (ours was called Cocoa Tree) and good breakfast. Great value for money if you visit in the off-season and can get a large enough discount.

The chocolate-making tour is a bit overpriced for what you get (that said, this applies to many if not most activities on the island). Also, some of the facilities of our cottage didn't give the impression of being well-maintained (old gas stove, leaky sink, finicky toilet tank, etc.).

The breakfast at Fond Doux is amazing Home cooking at it's best with a fantastic choice of fish, chicken, pulses, yogourt, coconut water and the delicious cocoa tea! It was easy to get to the beaches because of the shuttle and also so much to see and do at the resort- pool, nature walk, trail to see the pitons, making chocolate. The staff are so friendly and helpful and there is a generally respectful atmosphere which is so pleasant.

There were kittens in the roof that were a bit noisy one night!

Location was great, we loved the pool area and the cottage was lovely. Really enjoyed it. Staff were helpful and we loved being amongst the rainforest. Really enjoyed our stay and I’d recommend to others.

I think the food could be better or cheaper. We had dinner for 2 adults and 2 children, a starter and main each and it was over £200 (British pounds) which is a huge amount of money for a meal that we thought was fine but not amazing. The cocktails we had were fine but again not amazing for the price. We live in London so are used to paying over £100 for a meal for us but this felt too much for what we had. I think the food should be cheaper or better- I don’t mind paying over £200 for a meal that is really great, but I don’t feel the standard is quite up to what is being charged. Having said that, we did really enjoy our stay. I think if we ever stayed again, we’d bring our own dinner and make use of the well equipped kitchen instead.

We had a wonderful stay at Fond Doux! We stayed in the Avocado House and it felt very private. The location is beautiful and secluded, but also was really easy to get to Soufriere and other sites nearby as all were just a short drive away. The facilities on the property were great especially the pools and the hike to the view of the Piton. Lastly, the staff were amazing - very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay!

Nothing major. We did have a few bugs get into the house one night, but that is pretty inevitable given the location surrounded by plants and trees.

The meals were so delicious. The staff were great as well, very pleasant and welcoming. I specifically want to acknowledge Kershella, Clenton, Macy, Leandra, Suella, the lady who helped us create those delicious chocolate bars and the other restaurant staff. Thanks for helping to create such a relaxing getaway. I wish I was returning this weekend 😊 The fruits! So many fruits in abundance! That was also a highlight. Walking through the property felt like we were in the garden of eden!

Fond Doux is a beautiful eco resort, situated within the rainforest. The view from our cottage was breath-taking and it's gardens have the most lush and vibrant colours making it an absolute delight to walk through it. The pool area is also stunning with its 3 pools and a colonial style gazebo. But the star of the show at Fond Doux is its staff. I must admit I've never come across such friendly, smiley, helpful and always incredibly happy people with such a contagious energy. From our lovely ladies from reception, to the staff in the restaurant (special mention to my little Disney Princess and her delicious cocktails!), all the maintenance and cleaning team within the grounds, the chap who did the chocolate tour, the lady making the delicious chocolate, the adorable gentleman by the gate and finally Rio, Coco and cinnamon. Having such lovely staff made our stay 10 times more special and it was an absolute pleasure to have met and spent a week with you all. I have no words to describe how amazing you all were!

Completely unrelated to the resort but the infinite amount of mosquitoes. Make sure to stock up with plenty of mosquito repellent! The cottages could do with a bit of an update but this didn't affect our stay at all.

Fond Doux is a really special place and you feel as though you're a part of St. Lucian history. It has a mature fruit and cocoa trees and old-style buildings. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the cocoa tea (try it!!) It is a great value, especially with the shuttle to the beach, which we used everyday. I would recommend renting a car or looking on google for a taxi if you want to explore anything around Fond Doux. You can walk to the Petite Paul Nature Trail/Hike though, which I recommend for more views of the Pitons. One really special thing is that the restaurants use fruit from their own garden. I would suggest Fond Doux advertise this more and even put on the dinner menu what comes from the garden -- this is really special and really makes it feel like you're staying at an eco-resort :)

I would suggest there be 2 pick up times for the beach shuttle -- we would have loved to stay longer. My other suggestion is that the menu be rotated more frequently. The staff were fabulous, and they were very attentive and took care to ask us if we had any allergies. The menu was just very limited, was the same on both Friday and Sunday night, the portions were small, and it was expensive.
