I recently had the pleasure of staying at this resort, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure every detail of our stay was perfect. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. I had a wonderful stay at Paddyway Resorts! From the moment I arrived, the staff were so friendly and made me feel welcome. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed, including a really cosy bed. I loved the facilities, especially the clean pool and the peaceful yoga sessions surrounded by paddy fields and nature – it was so relaxing. The on-site restaurant was perfect, serving delicious food that made every meal a treat. The location near Arugam Bay Beach was ideal too. Everything about my stay was fantastic, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

We paid £25 a night in a new hotel so that’s a win. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot

Not a good start when they overcharged us and claimed it was a tax increase. No other hotel has done this. They wanted to charge us $15 each for breakfast or $10 if we paid now and had breakfast each day. There is a roti shop opposite that charges $0.4 a roti and more choice a short walk away. The hotel is not finished and building works are going on all day. The gardens are already a mess. The toilet leaked The pool only has one umbrella which is bolted to one of the chairs! On our first day we were asked if we minded if 5 locals came and used the pool!

Paddyway is not on the beach side of the main road, but is just a couple of hundred metres away. Its location is probably much better than those huddled together on the beach with doof-doof music at top volume in some of their restaurants. The room was spacious & although renovations were still going on, we had the lovely pool to ourselves which was great. Shade will be available soon, a problem some other reviewers had mentioned. We left at 5.00am one day to go to Kumana (fabulous), and were provided with a welcome packed breakfast. Our host was very helpful and welcoming, and the coconut drink when we checked in was a nice touch.

Paddyway is very new & some features seem to be somewhat haphazard. There was only one bedside table by the double bed and the light switches were all over the place. At the top of the stairs there is not a seamless transition to the walkway, which you need to keep your eye on - the step is too high, which can be disconcerting & is probably a bit of a safety issue.

The rooms are really nice and clean comfy beds, good air conditioning, a refrigerator and kettle in the room and good shower with hot water. The staff were very nice and welcoming and assisted in anything we needed. There's a nice pool area and a yoga shala, sometimes yoga lessons though I missed them. The location is a walking distance from the center so good for anyone who wants to stay away from the busy area, and we rented bikes from on shop on the main road and it was nice to move around like this.

No wifi in the rooms which was not very comfortable, and the connection of our sim cards (slt and dialog) was not very good and that area for some reason. The price is a bit high in our opinion but overall our stay was very nice either way.

Beautiful large clean room. Excellent chef, who made us lots of delicious food. Friendly and helpful staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Calm atmosphere with beautiful pool.

We loved the property.

Beautiful big new rooms. 2 mins walk to the beach and main part of town. We liked that it was set off the main road (main road is a bit party). We had nice views of the town and felt close to the village. Delicious food options. Fantastic host, Mubarak went above and beyond to make sure our stay was fantastic. They easily accommodated us extending our stay for another week. Organised drivers for surf expeditions and had local insight. Big beautiful pool with deck chairs. There was a brand new yoga space with daily classes which was a nice touch. All the staff were welcoming and made us feel at home. We will definitely be returning to Paddyway if returning to A Bay.

Our room was lovely with a comfortable bed. Little fridge in the room and nice cool air conditioning. The staff went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. We had the SriLankan omelette for breakfast both mornings which was delicious.

The grounds really need a tidy up. The grass is long and the gardens need weeding.

The property is in perfect location for everything in Arugam Bay but away from hustle and bustle. The staff are lovely and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable and beds were great. The pool is a nice addition to have as not many places have them in A Bay. There is a small cafe across the road that sells the nicest little snacks which the kids loved using. Best donuts in the world !!! We had surf lessons that were organised by the resort with their own instructor who was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Cleaning of rooms can be done but I think we needed to ask. We just swept our own and asked for clean towels when needed. No shade around the pool which made it difficult to sit out during the day as the weather was hot. Other than this we had a lovely stay and we will definitely be back. Thank you Paddyway

Nice location and quiet at the same time. Nice pool, comfy rooms. The staff did everything to make the stay comfy. They even fixed my bag handle that was broken, helped me get a taxi and book surfing. They were just super friendly. The owner himself looked after that my stay is good.
