The location and the cabana itself. It was a beautifully designed accommodation facing the bay and we immediately fell in love with it.. we fell asleep listening to the waves. We wished we could stay longer. But we had a tight schedule.

If there were some amenities it could make our stay more comfortable ( at least a couple of water bottles, a tea/ coffee maker). These are basics and it's a shame we don't find them any more. When a guest arrives travelling long distances, these little things make a huge difference for service perception. The bathroom needs a makeover. It was quite worn out.

Fabulous location right on the beach and at the quieter end. The staff were very helpful with any questions. The room was clean and comfortable and the view of the sea from the verandah was superb. There were lots of sunbed loungers available to relax on in shade or sun. It was a very short walk to all cafes and restaurants.

The lack of breakfast or any drinks on site due to the chef being on holiday. However, there were lots of options near by so that was a minor issue!

Rinas, the owner, is such a great and helpful person! He took care of us during our stay, helped organize trips, and fulfilled our every request. Our room was clean, the AC worked well, and hot water was always available. The beach is just a few steps from the room. Definitely the best place in Arugam! Thank you, Rinas & the Team!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of staying at Royal Beach, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. This eco-friendly beachfront resort deserves every bit of its 5-star rating. The location is truly unbeatable. Nestled right on the beach, the views are simply breathtaking. The eco cabins are a unique touch, blending seamlessly with nature while providing all the comfort you need. Despite being close to town, it's remarkably peaceful here. You get the best of both worlds - easy access to the vibrant energy of the town while being able to retreat to the tranquility of Royal Beach. What truly made my stay exceptional was the staff. They were incredibly warm and accommodating throughout my stay. A special shout-out to Rinas for going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and enjoyment. If you're looking for a serene, beachfront escape with eco-conscious accommodations and a friendly staff, look no further than Royal Beach. I can't wait to return to this hidden gem on the coast.

While it’s worth noting that there isn’t air conditioning, it wasn’t a problem at all. There are plenty of fans provided, and it was actually quite refreshing to adjust to the climate naturally.

Royal Beach is well-located, offering beachfront accommodation with a calm atmosphere and no noisy parties next door. The staff is genuinely nice and helpful, particularly Rina, the main man who is incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. I cannot speak highly enough of him. He efficiently organized surf lessons for my girlfriend and arranged tuk-tuk transfers to various surf spots. Additionally, when one of the tours my girlfriend had booked with another organizer fell through at the last minute, Rina swiftly arranged a safari tour as a replacement. Rina is the person with all the solutions! We plan to return soon, and he will be the first person we say hello to.

Newly built cabanas with a fabulous location on the beach. Clean, friendly personnel and short distance to most of the restaurants and shops in the area. Good value for money

Not much efforts made to make an atmosphere in the restaurant area (e.g., a little music, a fan (it is hot in Arugam in the season), etc. also, they are not allowed to serve alcohol, but this is a fair thing. Most of all - this is not a five star location by any means according to facilities available etc, but that being said: call it a 3-star, leave the price the same & you still have a great value for money! And absolutely a good crew

Good location and nice beach area out the front (much less busy than the main beach area). Good AC.

Yellow / white dust would cover the room and our belongings and outside area every day / night. Not sure what this was but our bags and things were covered in it! Had to wait 15 mins when wanting to leave in order to pay by card, but someone did arrive for us to do so as we were told we could on arrival.

We were so glad to stay at this wonderful hotel. All the staff are very friendly! We took surfing lessons at the hotel, and then went to the neighboring town of Pottuvil. Rinas was so cool guy! He helped us and was friendly. There is no air conditioning in the bungalow, but this is not a problem, because there are fans. Be careful: chipmunks steal food even from bags:) Very quiet hotel with a nice beach. There are rooms for living with children. Weak Internet in the rooms. The room has only a safe and a refrigerator. No soap and other accessories. There are many restaurants and shops nearby We will definitely come here again!

great location!!!! instead of checking out I extended my staying .. 2 times)) just perfect place to enjoy the ocean , the silence, the borderless starry sky , SUNSET!!! all of 6 hats are with an ocean view simple cozy and well organised. eco materials used for building make fresh air get inside , fan, comfy bed , hot water, many options of lightening , phone charge adopters etc, you really have all you need the beach is great to walk by , clean, different and beautiful ) staff is sooo friendly and polite ) prepare tasty breakfast quickly / hot meal , big plate of fruits and coffee/tea/ patiently filled my thermos by boiled water 1000 times ))) I would definitely recommend to stay here , no matters if it’s season or not. out of season means low cost , not crowded around , empty beach .. and sunbathing and swimming is perfect) would love to come back one day 🌿

there is really nothing to complain about

Very friendly and helpful staff. The resort is located next to a wonderful beach, Our room had no fridge because it was broken but we could use the fridge in the main kitchen. We choosed the option without breakfast. We brought our own filter and Bialetti coffee. We could use the kitchen for heating the water. The main surf spot is located around 15minutes by walk.

We had the family room was very small. In my opinion too small for a double bed and two small single beds.
