I stayed here with my girlfriend for a month. We absolutely loved it. A Wonderful place to stay right on the beach, away from the noise and movement of arugam bay, yet very close and easy to access. Very peaceful and lovely vibe. The family is amazing, kind and caring and very helpful. The food is best in Arugam. I really can only say good things.

That I couldn't stay forever 🤩

Perfect location on the beach, the room was clean, all the utilities were provided, but the best thing about this place is the owners whom are very friendly and welcoming. And the food was excellent ! They even went out of their way to buy cards for us ! They also gave us advice on the places to go on Arugam Bay and afterwards. We won’t come back to Arugam Bay unless it’s here !

Nothing everything was perfect !

This is the perfect location if you want to escape the noisy town. It's only a 20 min walk along the beach from elephant rock, so it's perfect for surfers. The empty and beautiful beach is just up front. And you'll have it all to yourself. I feel like people who gave a bad review didn't understand the chilled vibe this hotel has. If you want to eat something there let them know with enough time ahead, so that they can plan. You can also use the kitchen yourself to make yourself something. But their breakfast and dinner is delicious. It's great for families, couples or solo traveller's who are looking for a quiet place. It's great for yoga and meditation also. I planned to stay only 2 night but ended up staying a week. The owner is really nice. The center is only 5 min by car or tuktuk. There are sweet cats and dogs at the beach, some cute geckos and lizards at night and you can see elephants, goats and crocodiles in a walking distance of 10 minutes. There is an outdoor shower. Great place! Thanks for having me. I'll be back. 😊

For me the bed was way too hard. A new mattress would be good. But some people prefer it like that I guess..

Shim Beach Resort - WAW WAW WAW AWESOME!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I stayed there almost 1 month, because this bungalow was just as perfect as it can be in the dreams. 🏝🏞Location as in posters: near the ocean - soo you can sleep under music of ocean, everywhere palms 🌴🌴🌴🌴 - so you can immediately dive into the tropical vibe completely, very silent and chill. Also this location between Arugambey and Elephant rock (best surfing place) - so you can walk towards ER - just by feet. Not need tultuk! Although this location a bit 1 km far from Arugambey - its beauty and silence covering all the issue with distance.👍👍👍 The owner - Amin - he is out of discussion - he is super wise, amazing, helpful, kind, reliable, secure, friendly man. His hospitality I can compare with Turkish or Georgian hospitality. Every day a fresh coconut for me near by door was there and it was amazing. 😍 Salim and other friends of Amin - they are good team with Amin they are giving me food and security. Bicycles are also there. They can help to you whatever you need. They even can provide you a lunch if you will order in advance sooo you don't need to go to the shop every day. Although it is Sri-Lankian spicy food. But home - style and good. What can I say - I was super guided with heaven friends when they brought me to this paradise place🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Highly highly recommended!!!! You will be sooo happy to stay there and Arugambey will bring you sooo much joy because of this fantastic place - believe me 😇

Located in ACTUAL paradise … right on the beach a bit further out from Arugam Bay center but that’s why it’s so peaceful. Staff are the kindest people I’ve met so far in Sri Lanka and make you feel at home immediately. Chef cooking breakfasts every morning changes what she was cooking - you just need to ask and she’ll make it! Blissful stay. Thank you Shim Beach Resort!

Nothing - little far out from town but they have bikes you can borrow and tuk Tim’s into town are so cheap!!

I like the most is the cleanliness of the resort, then the milky way in the night the most ✨, the owner really cared about the guest very much and make sure everyone happy and safe .. more over the staffs are also very helpful.. since I practice yoga the place is perfectly made for my personal space ..

Great staff and cute little beach huts! Very quiet location right on the beach. This is the perfect hide away if you want to avoid the party scene in Arugam but stay close to the surf. The owner helped us renting a tuktuk and we drove around with our surf boards on top. The food they are serving is very tasty, fresh and very cheap.

Interesting location , nice place, not in the city center, but close to the ocean. Owners very nice and helpful.

Great location directly by the beach. Very peaceful and relaxing place. Sunsets, sunrises and starry nights:)) Long walks by the beach. 10 min by Tuk Tuk to the Arugam Village. Friendly and helpful owner.
