The owners were delightful, very friendly, super helpful with places to eat and visit, and made us feel very welcome. Location is perfect, down a quiet street but only 5 minutes walk to shops and restaurants and about 10 mins walk to the beach. Rooms are simple but comfortable and clean. We were in a triple room which was cozy but just fine for our stay as we weren’t in the room much. Great communal lounge area and kitchen plus a terrace and small pool. Pretty historic building with lovely furnishings and art work, a lot of love has gone into this property. We loved Nerja and Boutique Hostal Lorca, we will be back.

We loved Hostal Lorca. It was exactly what we needed - it’s a lovely house with comfortable rooms, perfect location just outside the busy middle of town but only 5 minutes walk and with some of the best restaurants round the corner. Bus station is only 3 mins away too which is very convenient. Julien and Amber are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed chatting and hearing how they ended up in Nerja, and Julien was full of good recommendations for where to eat and visit. The place feels very welcoming and guests are very well looked after, but you always have your own space and it feels very tranquil. Many thanks - we’ll definitely be back!

Boutique Hostal Lorca is a converted townhouse about 10 minutes walk from Nerja centre and the Balcon de Europa. Our room was beautiful, with a little balcony overlooking the garden and pool. All rooms are en-suite. The bed was so comfortable. There is a shared little kitchen and communal area where guests can put their things in the fridge, and can make tea, coffee and snacks. The garden has been really well-thought out, with an excellent little pool, ideal for cooling off after a day exploring the area in the heat of summer! In spite of being a terraced townhouse in a street, the whole place was calm and peaceful, and ideal place to chill out. The decor is an eclectic mix of items collected by the owners on their travels over the years, with a lot of Moroccan influence, just like our own house! And indeed, the owners, Amber and Julien, are such lovely, lovely people! We had a great welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. It was my birthday while we were there, and apart from writing a big "Happy birthday!" message for me on the hotel's blackboard, our hosts left us a bottle of very good cava, in an ice bucket, in our room! Very, very thoughtful - these are the things that elevate an okay stay somewhere to an excellent one. Thank you so much Amber and Julien! This is a lovely cosy quaint place great location as it’s away from the madness of the crowds but close enough to walk, a short stroll to the bus stop and a lovely square with a cafe at the top of the road to have breakfast. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations. Lovely homely atmosphere with a courtyard and plunge pool. There is parking about a 5 min walk away for a very small fee each day!

I think the property needs some updating and as new owners I’m sure they will get to it in time. I’m not usually a fan of air con but I do see now it is needed as the room we were in was like an oven quite damp so notting would dry. Although the bed was super comfy and had a fan we didn’t sleep well.

Gorgeous place, peaceful with great location. Free parking 5 minutes walk away, beach 10 mins walk, huge choice of restaurants and bars close by. Supermarket & bakery around the corner. Jules & Amber were the perfect hosts, friendly, helpful and incredibly informative. Great to have a kitchen (with fridge, toaster etc) and attached sitting room. Opens on to pretty plant filled 2 tier terrace with lots of comfy seating and tables and chairs around the pool. Huge comfy bed, plenty of hot water, and unusually - enough hangers! We plan on returning as soon as we can.

Great hospitality! Friendly, welcoming owners live on site and were always helpful, suggesting places to eat etc. Ideal location in Old Town, two minutes walk from bus station and supermarket, ten minutes from the Balcon de Europa and nearest beaches. Communal kitchen where guests can make their own breakfast. This was also a nice spot to sit and socialize. Free tea and coffee available at all hours.

In February it was cold and the room had no heating, but this is typical in Spain; I brought warm clothes and a hot water bottle and was fine.

Amber & Julien were the most amazing hosts, they have created a warm, relaxed homely feel to the hostal, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Lorca is situated close to all the local amenities, including the bus station, car parking and a great supermarket. Strolling around the narrow streets you will find plenty of unique shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy. What a gem of a place that's run by two hospitality professionals.

I loved the decoration. It’s clean and everything works, fairly simple, but it has a very homey feeling with a nice pool and a lot of plants everywhere. The location is excellent - 5-minute walk from everywhere including the beach! But the best part is the warmth and service from the two owners. They really did their best to make us feel comfortable as if it was a 5-star hotel. We got along very well and had a nice chat before leaving. One of my favourite stays after having visited 30 countries!

Nothing - maybe that there wasn’t AC but I’m not a big fan of AC anyway.
