It's located near the main road, but you can barely hear the cars. The Shanti Stupa is a 20-minute walk up some 464 steps, from which you can see the Leh Valley, Leh Palace, and the snow-capped mountain range. It has a beautiful garden with apple trees and trees that seem to reach the sky, a delicious fruit and vegetable orchard, and from my immense balcony, I can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance and the imposing silhouette of Stok Kangri, 6,153 meters high. The place is perfect for relaxing or spending time, even with children. The owner is very attentive, as is the mother.

The room I'm in is huge, ideal for a family or couple who want enough space. The balcony is immense, and the views are dreamy. I only see positive things, although someone with different tastes might not find it as appealing as I do. It's a 20-minute walk to the center of Leh without having to use a car. For me, it's the ideal place to visit Leh and not be in the center of the hustle and bustle.

Sumita is an outstanding owner and host. She makes the stay incredible. She has an organic garden just outside the door and uses that for her cooking. I reserved a quiet larger room and I got one on the second floor with an outdoor patio veranda with 3 chairs and 2 small tables that looks out to the white-capped mountains and the garden below. You might have to pay more for this spacious room (I don't recall now), but it would be worth it. The bathroom is a western-style toilet and a nice hot shower. Sumita makes different breakfasts, and all have been tasty. You can also request to have lunch or dinner at the guesthouse and generally that is available, homemade and from the garden. It's always been good and at a reasonable cost. Sumita has shown me many kindnesses and reaches out to me on WhatsApp to see if I need anything. I've very much enjoyed my stay here. I also like the location. I choose it because it looked to be out of the crazy busy tourist energy of downtown and the Ley Market area, and I was right. It is generally very quiet here under the hillside of the Shanti Stupa nearby. It's a 20-minute walk to the Leh Market along small and safe streets, or I made a taxi friend and just give him a call to take me places. It's easy for location in my opinion, the view is wonderful, it's quiet, it is nurturing and a homey homestay.

There isn't much not to like. If you want the grand Western-style appointments and finishes, go to one of the big Ley Palace Hotels and pay 4 times the price. But if you want a clean, quiet homestay with good food and caring proprietor, the price is easy on the pocketbook for the quality you get here.

Host Sumita is very helpful n kind.. Manager Rahul n his wife really make our stay beautiful with their smile n politeness .Sumita's mother n brother were very friendly n nice to have conversation during dinner time. Breakfast was basic but pleasantly good like homecooked omelette n toast plus coffee, tea n chai tea. Beautiful gardens n view of the mountains make our morning walk around the property unforgettable cos the air was very fresh in the morning. Local markets, Leh Main market, Skara stretch of shops n restaurants are just a stone throw away.. only took us 15 to 30mins of walk along houses n shops with beautiful mountain view surrounding this area. One have to adapt to the surroundings as it has 4 seasons in a year thus it can be dusty n sometimes it's not as green as advertised. When we arrived, the property was a little bit gray cos it's spring time n not much greenery around but 9 days later, it became greener n beautiful.

The guest house itself is set in a beautiful location, offering both tranquility and scenic charm. What truly stood out was the home-cooked food—fresh, flavorful, and served with love. Every meal felt like it came straight from a family kitchen, all at very reasonable prices. The rooms were clean and cozy, adding to the overall homely experience. Special thanks to Mrs. Sumitha for going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Her personal attention, along with the politeness and helpfulness of the staff, made a lasting impression. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay and would absolutely choose this guest house again on our next visit to Leh. Highly recommended for anyone looking for warmth, comfort, and authentic hospitality in the mountains.

We had a large room with equally large bathroom. Windows on two walls give spectacular views of the mountains and the house’s vegetable garden and orchard. The owner was helpful and friendly, able to answer any questions we had. Because the house is high above the town it’s peaceful, yet accessible. The garden is always beautifully cool because of the trees and a lovely place to sit and read. Highly recommended.

Nice big room with a balcony and mountain view :) The owner Sumita is very friendly and helps with anything we needed. Booked a tour to some nice spots directly at the hotel. Luckily, there was hot water to take a shower during the cold season ;)

We didn't like the bed too much as there were two mattresses with a gap in between. So we couldn't really sleep close and keep each other warm.

We love staying in homestays and guest houses, as you get to know the people so much more. Sumita was an excellent host. Making sure we rested enough early in our stay to aclimatise? Providing us with plenty of water and food. The room was huge & insulated! Great as we slept 18 hours when we arrived!! Sumita helps us with permits and taxis to get us around and for day tours.

It was a little way out of town, 20-25min walk. Not a huge issue, as we were there at the very start of the season, so not much in the way of shops open & there would have been many more on the route to our accomodation if we had visited in summer.

What an enchanting place or rather a palace. The room was quite big with a lot of wood that gave a good feeling. The garden where they grow their vegetables is very nice not mentioning all the flowers in their pots. Beautiful, beautiful. The host is extremely knowledgeable and the food they prepared was really good

This is the best place to stay if you're staying in Ladakh. I stayed there for a day. With their homegrown vegetables, the food your body requires on the first is fully fresh, nutritional and straight out of the garden. Plus the owners and care takers are really caring. My whole day of acclimatisation went very smoothly. The place is very very peaceful and it's 10 min away from the airport.

They are just very lovely, friendly and helpful people. I had a problem with leaving Leh after the airport was close due to circumstances. They went above and beyond to help me find an alternate route. Aron & Raoul; thank you.
