Just 20 meters from the ski slope—it's like a dream come true! Feel the adrenaline rush as you glide down to the lift and dive into the thrilling slopes. And when it's time to unwind, you can effortlessly ski right up to your back door! The convenience is unbeatable! This is, without a doubt, the best ski-in, ski-out experience I've ever had—prepare for pure exhilaration! And let’s talk about dinner—it was absolutely fantastic! While the daily menu might not change much, every dish was bursting with flavor. Even with just us as the only guests at the facility, they went above and beyond to prepare an incredible breakfast and dinner that truly impressed us!

I hope the bathroom in the room can be renovated, as it shows signs of being quite dated. While it is clean, an upgrade could significantly enhance overall comfort and the guest experience.

It definitely exceeded our expectations and was perfect location for skiing in Hakuba area, specifically in the Tsugaike Kogen ski area, which has very nice ski slopes for all levels. We travelled as a family from Tokyo to Nagano by train, then from Nagano to Hakuba by bus and then with a local bus to Tsugaike Kogen. All very well organized and easy to reach. The street of Berghaus is next to the slope which is very convenient at the end of a day of skiing or snowboarding. The ski rental shops and small supermarket are within 5-10 minutes walk. The owners really made us feel welcome from the beginning, tolerating our lack of knowledge of Japanese language :-) and answering our questions about Japanese culture and cuisine with passion and patience. The rooms are very spacious and well set up, the private and public Onsen are so relaxing at the end of each day, rooms and hotel are very clean. The breakfast and Japanese dinner were delicious, not too much choice but definitely enough for everyone's taste and again the quality was just excellent.

The fact that we couldn't find their lovely haori jackets online or in kimono shops in Tokyo ;-)

Hotel could ski in/ski out with storage space for ski equipment Rooms were big Staff were very friendly and helpful Free flow of alcohol for dinner Onsen was lovely after a long day Hotel was not too crowded The location was less than 10 mins walk to the ski lift and ski rental shop.

Dinner offering was pretty much the same every night for the 3 nights that we were staying there No lifts in the hotel (which we knew as it was stated in the hotel description)

Very friendly service from front desk and the chef can speak pretty good english. Comfy breakfast and ski in sky out resort, perfect for you to quickly get to the chair lift/gondola without carrying the heavy ski or board gears on the road. The room is very clean with room cleaning, and there’s public onsen perfect after a long day of skiing

Slightly further up hill if you carry heavy luggage and heavy snow, able to arrange for hotel pick up from bus station though, they aren’t very flexible with the timing.

Nestled in a splendid location, this ski-in ski-out Ryokan boasts a prime spot. Our room, offering ample space and a charming street view, remained tranquil and picturesque throughout our stay. The breakfast and dinner served were simply delectable. Even during the peak season, we found the pricing to be acceptable, considering the exceptional service and amenities provided. Additionally, the friendly staff added to the overall enjoyment of our stay.

The hotel is right at the edge of the ski track so it is super convenient for skiers. Staff are very friendly and they offered pick-up and drop-off service to the bus station. Nice hot baths after a day of exercise. Laundromat is available. Room is pretty sound-proof and I had sound sleeps as a light sleeper. Food is delicious too.

There is no elevator in the hotel so be prepared to carry your luggages up. We were very fortunate that a staff offered to carry one of our luggage upstairs.

Staff were most friendly and patient. They went out of their way and tried their absolute best to assist us with all requests even though their first language was not English

Location was up the hill, may be tough for large luggages. Lifts are not available, may be challenging for some travelers.

This ryokan is located right on the slopes of Tsugaike Kogen and was relaxing 3-night stay for my wife and myself. We were in Hakuba Valley to ski and this was the perfect place to stay, especially given they have ski/boot storage and a warming room for all of your gear, and lockers if need be. The staff was especially nice and helpful, we look forward to returning.

Lots of room to hang out and dry ski clothes in without having to sit on your bed the whole time. Private bathroom was clean

The stairs to the 4th floor but that's what happens in a ski town

Good food, Good Onsen, Good location. self service coffee machine on the landing was a nice touch for early morning coffee. Room was really big.

Toilet/ bathroom is a bit small but this is normal for Japan as guests use the onsen.
