Very comfortable room with spacious en-suite bathroom. Hosting team were very polite and helpful. Drinks in the bar were excellent value for money, probably the cheapest pints in Shetland. The cooked breakfast was amazing. Great location in Scalloway, near the shops and museum and plenty of parking nearby.

The only fault I had was that my room was above the kitchen and they did play their music loud, but as someone who worked in a kitchen in my teenage years I can understand it and it’s not like it was an all night rave, it was quiet from 10pm. Also couldn’t seem to turn the shower off without turning off the switch in the bedroom, had to get fully dry before I could switch it off.

On arrival in wild and windy weather, with the hotel bar noisy with Sunday drinkers and sport on the TV, we weren't sure ... but our room was a quiet oasis, clean and with lovely heavy woollen curtains to help block out the light at night (it was May!). The food in the restaurant in the evening was very good, aspiring to excellent cuisine. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Despite being told by Booking.com that breakfast was not included, we were delighted to find that a continental breakfast actually was included and was sufficient.

There had obviously been some problem with the bathroom mirror which wasn't mentioned by staff when we booked in - but attempts had been made to at least provide a replacement, so no bother.

Meal Monday night - too dry

Location was excellent, near to the harbor overlooking the water. Good choice of menu at restaurant and bar, excellent quality of food and drink. Very comfortable. Staff were friendly. Good central place with good road links as well to explore. Peaceful and quiet location where we could get a good nights rest.

I wouldn't say there was anything we didn't like, however I would say that the included continental breakfast was a bit basic (just bread, butter, jam/marmalade, pre-packed croissants and coffee/juice cereal, yogurt and a bit of fruit - no hams or cheeses etc..). However the cooked breakfast options (for which there was an extra charge) were really nice (We had scrambled eggs on toast).

Dog-friendly hotel in an interesting and well-serviced village. Plenty of free parking surrounding the hotel which we made use of when the hotel’s small’ish car park was full. Breakfast was good - you paid extra for cooked dishes, but on a dish by dish basis (ie it wasn’t a lump sum); I had delicious porridge every morning. The bar attracts locals - always a good sign. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our four-night stay, appreciating fully the hotel’s proximity to the excellent Scalloway Museum, the sites of the wartime Shetland Bus, the harbour and easy road access to Lerwick, Jarlshof and Sumburgh Head.

There was only one chair and not a great deal of space to get around the bed (NB this was very comfortable). By the end of our four-night stay, we felt a little cramped. However, we would return to the Scalloway without hesitation.

The hotel and staff were excellent, I would have no complaints. The location is great just what suited me happily there was very little/no suitable accomodation in Lerwick or I would not have found this place. Only negative point I could make is for me for a single room I thought it was ecpensive, although as it was absolutely comparable with accomodation in the area at that time of year..actually cheaper than most, I cannot justify reducing the score for this. Evening meal and breakfast were also both very enjoyable.

For me for a single room it is ecpensive but also very much comparible to other hotels in the area at that time of year, actually offering more for less than other hotels.

I was in Scalloway on my own for the fire festival and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Incredible location, fantastic staff and owner and a very lively venue at the heart of the village and the celebrations. I almost felt like part of the family after a few days. Breakfast was great, lamb curry excellent. It was a pleasure to be snowed in for an extra day. I’ll be back.

Kitchen wasn't open on the nights we were there. They were in the middle of changing chefs which was explained well, so we understood the situation.

Good location. Everything that was needed for a short break. Food was excellent. Quirky. Most of all the staff were fabulous.

Bedrooms were small. Very little room to manoeuvre. Could do with black out blinds or curtains as room was very light during the night.

The breakfast that comes with the booking was a little basic but good enough and the cooked breakfast was very nice. The staff were all very helpful and couldn't fault the service.

The walls of the rooms were a little thin and you could hear everything your neighbors were saying but the room itself was very nice.
