Everything! Richard and Bearnice have created the most wonderful Retreat. The attention to detail shows through at every level. We loved the location which offered privacy yet is within easy distance from all that McLaren Vale has to offer. On our arrival we were welcomed by Richard, who provided a lovely background to the Mill's history and transformation. Right down to a welcome bottle of local organic wine, beautiful platter and a cheeky end of evening port, nothing was overlooked. The bed was super comfortable and waking up to a view of local vineyards was magical. We loved our stay and will return.

Absolutely nothing! The only suggestion to guests would be to consider pre-booking taxi transport rather than relying on an unreliable local Uber service if you're heading out for dinner. We had the most wonderful time and can highly recommend.

This was one of my most memorable get away for a long time, Bernice and Richard were such welcoming hosts. This is an absolute Gem. The place is clean and comfy. We have a good time enjoying the good wines with a very retro feel having Elvis records playing in the background by the fireplace. The kitchen has everything we need to make our dinners. The lightings and ID are top-notch inside the property. We love this place so much and will most definitely visit again soon.

We had the most amazing stay and Bernice and Richard were lovely hosts who were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. The property is full of character and comfort and is a credit to them both. We would love to stay again.

Very private and peaceful. The hosts were very helpful and left a wonderful welcome platter of local foods and wine. The place has an outdoor bath, a very nice garden and a wonderful fireplace inside.

History and character with lots of love to give. That is how the owners make you feel. One needs a car to get around but well worth being amongst the vineyards with just the sounds of the birds in a beautifully restored mill.

The restoration of this beautiful property was excellent, it was comfortable and private. Breakfast provisions were excellent. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. It was wonderful stay for us. Great spot to all amenities beaches wineries and eating places.

This is a beautifully restored mill with double-volume spaces that provide light, spaciousness, and airiness. The rustic outhouse bath is a delight to enjoy in the warm light of day. The upper room lounge, with its expansive views of the luminous vineyard is a salve for body and mind. Thank you, Richard, for your gracious and generous hospitality.

Extremely well renovated accommodation. No expense spared, yet preserved so many historical features. It was great meeting Richard on our arrival, who provided an overview of the accommodation. Very comfortable and relaxing!

The service from The Old Chaff Mill was superb. On arrival we were greeted with a lovely cheese platter. Great communication with the owners who were very helpful.

We loved everything about the Old Chaff Mill. Such a charming and beautiful stay. Lots of lovely personal touches, including the Port and cheese platter! The chickens that came out (when the weather wasn't awful) were cute! Richard and Bernice were also super welcoming, and we loved hearing about the history.
