This is one of the best places to stay in Monemvasia to get the feeling of how it is to "live" in an area inhabited in 6th century AD, while the castle was built around 10th/11th century AD. Expect arc stone two level structure converted to a 'hotel" room! Bonus, the magnificent terrace and view!

I have two remarks, not the establishment itself, but for the whole Monemvasia area. In summer, due to thermal capacity of the stone buildings, the place is HOT! Inside the room is fully air-conditioned, but outside is an oven. Second, the parking is a nightmare, so expect to walk over 500m (under the blazing sun) or take the bus to the municipal parking lot.

Traditional cave house within the walls of this magnificent ancient city. Beautiful step back in time decor. Location very central to main street shops which are a 5 minute walk and very close to the best restaurant Matoulas. Hotel owner Despina was wonderful.

Unclear how to navigate transporting our heavy suitcases to the hotel, as signs very small. We were unaware they had a porter service. Driver can only drop you off to the original gates of old Monemvasia. Precarious for family to move suitcases down steep and slippery rocky steps. I would recommend having very light luggage. Hotel owner organized a porter for our departure which was truly easy and much appreciated. Bedrooms are on 2 separate mezzanine levels with steep steps with downstairs bathroom. Would still return, so overall small negatives.

Our one-night stopover in Monemvasia was made exceptional by staying at this wonderful hotel. Run by the owners, originally built circa 1200s and fully renovated, it really is a very comfortable and quiet place to experience this historic location. It is only a few hundred metres from the entrance/town drop-off location, and we were lucky enough to score a car park along the road (it can get busy there so grab one if you can!). It is also very near to the access to the water, and we enjoyed a wonderful swim. The room itself is well fitted out. Our room was on several levels, and with the design of the building this meant som steep stairs within the room that needed care to navigate, but this was more of a feature for us rather than a negative. Our host was very friendly and they have a fantastic balcony to enjoy the sunset.

These are small issues but when first arriving the signage from the main street wasn't very apparent. As mentioned, there were stairs in the room, but if you have mobility issues then please be aware that Monemvasia itself if not easy to walk around, with narrow cobbled streets and many steep inclines.

Ardamis is absolutely wonderful!! Our villa was enormous with a downstairs lounge area, upstairs there was a huge bedroom and a terrace overlooking the sea. The lady who owned it was so friendly and helpful. The villa had everything you needed. It was beautifully decorated and just fabulous. Monemvasia is an amazing place to visit and Ardamis is the perfect place to stay. It's away from the busy main area and the downstairs courtyard was gorgeous.

Wonderful location - close to the town and the swimming. Check in was perfect and bag transportation was seamless. Beautifully restored and furnished apartments and loved access to balconies and courtyards.

We are older and two flights of stairs down to the bathroom in the night was not ideal but overall very comfortable for a medieval dwelling. The lighting to go down in the night was good. Ice in the freezer would have been nice as well as a way to warm milk.

This hotel is gorgeous and has a wonderful location. It’s a short walk from the gate, so not too hard to carry your suitcases in. Close to all the food options and so cool to be inside such an old city. The view from our deck was insane, we sat out there just admiring the ocean every morning and evening. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious. Would definitely recommended this hotel!

Nothing! It was lovely!

Beautiful 2 large rooms with bedroom area and large sitting room. Both rooms with barrel vault stone ceilings. Very walls are exterior walls and no room above for a quiet stay with no neighbors. Outside door door to patio. A different outside entry door about 50 meters to medieval town wall and view over wall to ocean. Parking on narrow road about 860 meters from village medieval entry gate. No motor vehicles within medieval walled village. Drop off luggage at medieval wall gate, park car, then pay about 5 euros for luggage cart man or young man to carry luggage to Ardamis. Owners nicely paid for luggage to be brought to village gate at check-out time. Note rough cobblestone lanes in village and gradual steps up or down. Good location for 1 overnight stay to better appreciate this medieval walled village situated on the slope of a mountain facing the sea. Fun to stay after day trip tourists have left that were bused to the village. Friendly older couple live on the premises.

Need to use a luggage cart person to get from medieval walled village gate to the hotel but well worth the about 5 euros cost. On street parking about 860 meters from the village entry gate. Best of 8 locations we stayed at in small hotels in our Greece 15 day trip.

The location was magical. The balcony our fav part. The view! We were sad to only have one night. Our host was very attentive.

The shower! We couldn’t work out how to use it. On leaving we were asked if we wanted a porter to carry our bags. We carried them ourselves on the way in. So we said sure, as it was a tough 100m with two 20kg bags. The porter then asked us for money on dropping the bags. It was awkward. We would have carried them again had we known. We thought it was part of the service.

Amazing renovated property, exactly how portrayed in the photos, only better! So gorgeous we decided to change plans and stay for 2 nights. Had to change rooms and were given the top suite. Both rooms were fantastic, with each having their individual qualities. Even the linen on the very comfortable beds was top quality. Despina, the owner was so friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Absolutely nothing.

A stunning historic property in this delightful town. An original stone building, sensitively converted. We had not merely a room but a large suite (we hadn't requested) only steps from the sea wall at the bottom of the town. Not far from the entrance gates, which helps because one must bring one's luggage by foot through the city due to understandable traffic restrictions in this historic old town. The property was beautiful and tasteful. We were so sorry we could only stay one night and would love to go back.

Everything was perfect
