So many things to like about this property. Fantastic historic building located in the centre of the old Wittenberg with an old wood gate, spiral staircase to the 3rd floor that I used at least 30 times ; lovely old door on a nice plain room with a great bed and pillow ; very clean bathroom and shower facilities, and an amazing breakfast .

Some other noisy and unconsiderate guests in adjoining rooms can be a problem since there really is no soundproofing for the monk rooms.

Breakfast was humongous, location was perfect, personal was super friendly and helpful. You can leave your bags at the reception area, super useful. Beds were comfortable and the bed sheets with towels out of very nice cotton. The hotel is also in a historic building, highly fascinating for me as a historian. Just incredible atmosphere. Basically I loved everything.

Relevant for travellers in December - from 11 in the morning till 19 in the evening there is a Weihnachtsmarkt on the main square, a Christmas fair. So in December you most definitely will not have it quiet in the room during the day. At night it's nice and peaceful though. And well, neighbours are quite audible... :) But for this price I can't complain. Just grab some earplugs. Hotel was still amazing, possibly even the best part of my stay.

The location is just a perfect when touring the historical sites in Wittenberg - next to main square along the main street. However the place was quiet and offered a great possibility to sleep. The breakfast was beyond all expectations - superb does not provide enough information about the quality and quantity as well as the lay-out. Check-in and check-out was done at almost no time at all and you felt that you were a welcomed guest. Will return whensoever in Wittenberg again!

For us it was not a problem at all but the different floor levels (there might be few steps between them) and stairs might be a challenge for persons with reduced mobility.

Amazing historic building, superb location, windows into Cranach's historic yard. The sharede bathrooms were large and spacious. Breakfast selection was really wide and good.

The hostel didn't have corresponding photos of the room and I was advertised with the hotel room while in the reality I got a small hostel room. No elevator to the 4th floor might be a problem for some. It takes effort to get into the reception.

I loved the quaintness of the hotel. The room was so quiet even though the first night, it was nearly full. The location to the Martin Luther sites was perfect! We had a wonderful stay even though the heating system was broken by an outside source the 2nd night. We were refunded half of out money! It never got cold inside! The Cranach art and decor was wonderful, and I loved the wooden boy with bread and fish at the entrance to the dining area. The Mediterraneo Restaurant across the street was so good!

I would have liked a firmer pillow and the parking was not on site, but a short walk away in a city lot. But the location made up for the parking!

Fantastic location right in the middle of the city center! Delicious breakfast. Not a huge selection but what was there was delicious! Great little suite with 2 rooms for our family!

Kinda hard to navigate windy stairs with a cane. But lesson learned to pay attention to if there's an elevator. We got a parking ticket for parking exactly where the hotel told us to.

This is a real value, you cannot find a better deal than this. Quite, very clean and comes with a dantastic breakfast with wide variety. You will feel like thrown back to Lutherian times yet with modern amenities. The shared kitchen has everything ( micro, stove, oven, 2types of coffee machine , plates, dishes and its huge with noone using it) Hotel has amazig WiFi

My only issue was that there is no Tv in the room, but for this money its still the best deal ( their wifi is super fast and reliable)

The hostel-monk room was as described. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked great. Showers were clean and hot. Access to kitchen was appreciated. Kitchen included basic amenities. The breakfast was EXCEPTIONAL!!! The breakfast staff and front-desk staff were also exceptionally friendly. Location is right in town-center. Grocery stores 10-minute walk away.

It was a bit warm at night; a fan would do wonders in cooling the place at night.

Amazing building in a beautiful part of town. When I arrived, the person working at reception helped me get a spot in the bike garage to park my bike, and was very comprehensive in providing information relevant to my stay at the hotel, as well as the area itself. The communal bathroom was clean and had a good shower. The room was also very clean, with a basic design but had all I needed for the night. Breakfast was enjoyable, great bread selection and I appreciate that they had oat milk as well as cow's milk (not so often you get that in Sachsen Anhalt!)

In the kitchen there were 12 lockable fridge spaces, numbered by room. However there were 16 rooms, and there was seemingly no fridge space for rooms 13-16. This was a bit confusing.

Such a wonderful and historic place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. The building is very interesting and very centrally located. The breakfast was incredible! They had a great selection of options with many regional and even historic specialties. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Everything was nice, though the room decor could incorporate some of the same details and art that was found in the rest of the hotel spaces.
