Windrose BnB, just 5 km from the city, but it felt like we were stepping into a fairy tale. Our room? Spacious enough for four adventurers, complete with a queen bed, a bunk bed (for that extra dose of fun) and a glass ceiling that practically forced us to rise and shine with the sun ☀️ (thanks, natural alarm clock!). And if that wasn’t enough, the glass floor artfully displaying dried pine, leaves and bits of nature had us wondering if we were staying at a secret garden sanctuary 🌿. But here’s where things got froggy: every nook and cranny was hopping with a quirky frog theme! From a welcome letter featuring Foggy 🐸, to the 🚽, to ear plugs that would save our sleep from the “soothing” frog lullabies (they’re notorious night-choristers, apparently 🎶), we were truly immersed in the froggy phenomenon.

This is a gem of a place, very Denmark, beautifully located next to a lake chock-full of frogs. The bedrooms (all with ensuite) were basic but very comfortable with all that you need, & you have shared access with the other 3 rooms to a lounge/kitchen/dining area filled with books & games & a few local products for sale. Host Anna provides a full cooked breakfast as well as a continental breakfast & to my surprise, having earlier informed Anna that I was coeliac, she presented me with a freshly-baked gluten-free bread stick each morning! Highly recommend this lovely BnB

Welcomed by host Anna and taken to see room. Room was uniquely presented (in a good way) and had all the bedroom, bathroom facilities required. Shared kitchen facility worked well for us and especially as we had brought some dinner of our own, host being very accommodating in every way by supplying plates etc. Dinner enjoyed in wood heated comfort around lovely timber table, making friends with other guests as we ate. Room decorated and equipped with books, games, art pieces etc. Amazing breakfast supplied, cereals, yoghurt, homemade bread with cooked course of bacon, German sausage and eggs; scrumptious! Situated in bush setting but close to town with short drive. Outside our room was a garden, supporting local birdlife to enjoy, deck and pond, home to frogs, ducks etc. Host was thoughtful, warm, and friendly with intruding!

That our stay wasn't longer!

It was a very cute and scenic location with clean facilities. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was very nice. Overall a worthwhile stay for a reasonable price!

There were a few cobwebs and small spiders in the room. Some alive and some dead but this is somewhat to be expected. There is also a 4 minute water usage plead in the shower room, but this is supposedly for environmental reasons and because the water is run from a limited tank.

The Windrose was a lovely place to stay. Anna so very welcoming and cooked the best German sausage for brekky along with freshly cooked eggs to our liking and bacon etc. Choice of cereals and toast freshly made coffee all very nice for your start to the day. The rooms were very tidy and comfortable. Def. recommend this little gem and will def. stay again when heading to Denmark. Thankyou Anna x

Lovely place run by the most adorable lady we had the pleasure to meet. Ever so polite yet intelligent. The living room setting was so warm and cozy. The room was quite comfortable, too, with hot water available for showers. Loved the sightseeing recommendations that were given to us.

It was a teensy bit confusing to find the cottage; we ended up entering the lane for the cottage next door. Only after that did we notice the signboard for Windrose B&B.

Our host Anna, was really warm and very accomodating. Her breakfast was hearty with a lot of fresh fruit, sausages, eggs, bacon and home made bread. Home made apple juice as well and coffee. The rooms are in a green, tranquil surrounding, simple and clean.

Will definitely stay here again, just a point to carry a small torch and in winter, june - Aug, it gets dark by 5.20 pm so the roads from the town centre are unlit so just a note to get back by then.

The host was wonderful- friendly, relaxed and gave great advice about the local area and also about Albany when we were leaving. She provided a tasty generous cooked breakfast as well as cereals, yoghurt, fruits including fresh figs etc. The room was quirky but comfortable and clean. The location was very good- easy to access and a short drive to Ocean Beach and the town centre.

Quiet location in lovely bush garden. Breakfast was great excellent value. It was good to be able to chat with fellow guests over breakfast. There were facilities to make drinks and heat up our own food. We wished we could have stayed longer as there is lots to see in the area. Anna is an excellent host.

Bathroom was a bit small, but this is a minor gripe.

The room is very spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. I love that they build around the boulders, it give the room that extra character. Quiet area, close to town and the beautiful ocean beach. Anna provided a very yummy breakfast. The pork sausage is so yummy.

Needs a new pillow. It is very flat, doesn't provide good head support.
