Our host was very lovely, allowed us to borrow some books from his own collection. The kitchen was spacious: tea and coffee even milk was free, not to mention how good that coffee was! The hostel is in two steps from the ocean. There were 4 sleeping places in the room,but we were alone.

The only thing that was confusing is the sink in our bathroom: hot and cold water were in different faucets so face wash up was kinda challenging. And when someone uses bathroom on the other floor it could be heard from our room, but after 11 p.m. it was quiet.

Rick was very helpful thru chat and was even more accommodating by the time we arrived at his hostel. He even gave us a room upgrade for the comfort of our small family. The room was equipped with basic necessities and an ensuite, which is really value for money. The living room also has board games and books for whole family to enjoy. The hostel was also situated near the beach and town center. Parking is never a problem. Thank you very much Rick!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. The cleanliness of the facility was outstanding, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic environment throughout our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary tea, coffee, and breakfast, which added a wonderful touch to our visit. A special mention goes to Rick, who provided us with the best hospitality we could have hoped for. His exceptional service truly made our stay memorable. Big family room with side sea view. Big kitchen with lots of basics for self catering and cooking. Big fridge to share with other guests. Our lovely host Rick lives nearby so we waited no longer than 5 minutes for him. He gave us the entry codes and we had a lovely chat about where to go for dinner. We had planed only one night. But actually one can stay a few nights as basic spot for excursions on the wild atlantic north coast/giant Causeway.

The mattress was too soft for me...But it's very subjective... Nothing to really complain about.

What a perfect place to.stay! Rick.was very welcoming and my room was very large, the bed was massive! I slept very well, and Rick kindly let me leave my stuff in the room, beyond che k out, so I could go and do parkrun along the coast and come back and shower before getting on the road which was very kind of him, and unexpected. Little things like that make such a massive difference. The shower after my run was powerful and warm - I needed warming up! Rick is friendly and a great host, the sea is literally at the end of the road and it is a nice quiet road. I would thoroughly recommend

Causeway Hostel is located right beside the seafront in the lovely town of Portstewart. Rick is extremely friendly and helpful and will go out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The hostel is basic but comfortable and the warm welcome meant a lot after a long journey. Each room is en suite with towels supplied if needed. Wifi is free as is parking. Great location would highly recommend.

Perfect for our stay. We booked budget accomodation and got more than we expected. Lots of games in living room for kids.

Great location, affordable price and incredibly welcoming host Rick. Kitchen is fully equipped, free tea and coffee provided. Rick kindly upgraded me a room with a nice sea view. Bed linen was good and clean, bathroom with a hot water inside the room, towel on request, cosy common room.

Facilities are basic, however this place has lot of other advantages

Everything basic what you need to stay overnight for rest. Rick the owner is top man. Plenty parking space, 10 min to takeaway shops, we were sitting outside for dinner with seafront view, quite area. Note it is not 5 star hotel, it is excellent place to stay with limited budget for city brake time. Will definitely stay again once in Ireland.

Rick is such a lovely host, extremely welcoming and helpful. Was looking for affordable accommodation while going to the giants causeway and this property ticked all the boxes. It's in such a lovely location, was lovely to sit out with my morning coffee and admire the sea and the town of Portstewart had loads to offer for our evening. This was my second time at the hostel and hopefully will be back again

Beautiful location. Really lovely host, absolute sweetheart, with good recommendations for the local area. Room was nice, with en-suite and shower - and plenty of blankets provided. Lovely common area.

Radiator wasn't on when I arrived so got very cold overnight, with no way of turning on heating once the host had retired for the evening. Could perhaps have been a little cleaner, although for the price it was pretty great value overall.
