Very clean, nice furniture, wonderful old atmosphere despite the prison history. There was even a museum room to see. We stayed in the bigger rooms, and it was very pleasant. No noise. Tap and sink in the room are helpful. Nice bathrobes to use to go to the pretty and clean showers. Spacious toilets in the corridor. Kitchen available upstairs and a good breakfast. TV in the breakfast room. Super nice staff !

The toilets and showers in the corridors are not for everyone - was not a problem for us.

Nothing negative to say about this place. The location was perfect with walking distance to the center. The building itself is charming and beautifully renovated. The rooms were spotless the beds comfortable, I was on an extra bed and even that was comfy. The linens are fresh and there are plenty of towels and bathrobes to use. Breakfast was simple and plentiful and the staff were charming. Unbelievably good value for money.

One of the best places I've ever stayed. It's not the right place for those who want something luxury but it's the place for people appreciating good taste and home atmosphere. It's former jail, yes, but it's one of the coziest places I've seen. I enjoyed everything: cozy atmosphere, comfortable bed, inner decor, breakfast, easy check in at night. Special thank you for fresh flowers and candles! They really gave the feeling of home. It was so nice to talk to the owner at the end of my stay and to learn the story of family business. Wishing all the best to this nice couple!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. All facilities were working as intended and in nice shape. Location is close to the center but in a nice and quiet distance from comotion.

Room was a little bit cold (heater element in room was locked to go max to 3 out of 5) but it was managable, all knives in the common kitchen were unbelieveably dull.

Room was clean and tiny :) but that was OK cause I traveled alone, really historical place and nice, staff was really good and did a short history overwiev for me also wich was superb !

I did not liked the public shower room, it was clan and all good but the curtain of the shower keept getting stuck to my back and not so much room to do thing is there. Also no warm breakfast wich was a shame. The doors were smashing when closing I had a late morning and it kept wakeing me up when someone was moving around, but that was a small thing.

Brilliant place to stay, not expensive, not crowded. When we arrived, there was a key left for us, as it's midsummer. It was really peculiar to be alone in the whole place.

A bit awkward going into the shared toilet as I need to use the toilet a lot, so that means dressing up every time I need to go at night. But it's a historic place, so I guess it's expected that it may not be easy to retrofit.

The hotel is very authentic with the old cell doors and some exhibitions related to the buildings history. All the rooms were very clean and you had everything you needed. The breakfast had quite many good options and was very good. Location was good: quite close to the centre and also close to the river.

Very positive Experience for a 1st Time at such a hotel. This one was very well renovated, tidy and quiet. Good idea to preserve one of the cells as prison museum, Open for hotel guests. Also having free parking Space within prison walls is handy, as the 24/7 parking is not possible everywhere on the nearby streets.

The only thing that you need to adapt to and accept is the location of toilettes and showers which are not in rooms (cells).

Close to the city center. Very easy to get there from the train station. Close to some nice walks along the river. Very nice design! Nice atmosphere. It's great to have a big kitchen. Nice restaurant and breakfast. Very nice and helpful staff. Cosy little bedroom.

Toilet and shower floors should be cleaned every day. It was not the case. Maybe because I was there during low season.

Very interesting place to stay as it's a former prison. It was very clean, all the facilities as described on the website and it's not haunted 😅Also the atmosphere was cosy, maybe just not in the cells but that's how I expected it anyway. Interior design was up to standards, breakfast satisfying and I would 100% recommend the place. Really close to town centre too, on the same time- quiet on the nighttime.
