I arrived after dark and was welcome by a super kind front of house lady called Shomaila. She was so sweet and made me feel instantly at home! I had left an establishment where i was not happy but the sterling treatment I received from the moment I entered Best Western Sur was commendable. Shomaila was friendly, chatty, respectful and SO professional! My room was super clean and there was a BATH! This is something very rare in these parts...I loved soaking in it! Breakfast was amazing...staff are all super kind and friendly.

I ordered seafood chowder on Night 2. This was delicious but it was served with 2 buns which were a bit stale...not fresh at all. Also, I ordered a Spanish Latte from the coffee shop and when it arrived i was disappointed. It was NOT a Spanish Latte (my fave) but a normal cappucino...the barrister claimed she was new...I overlooked this error but was disappointed that I did not receive the Spanish Latte I wanted. The new waitress/barrista was really sweet though...very helpful too.

The reception team was really welcoming, the young man at the gym / pool was amazingly kind and helpful. The location was also great to visit Wadi Shab and Wadi Bani Khalid and then to go either for a Sugar Dunes or Bar Al Hikman stop or to Salala. The breakfast was ok, enough choice to cover all tastes. The rooms were big enough and clean with a real fridge. An amazingly good and affordable Indian / Pakistani restaurant located nearby.

Maybe the need of an electrical outlet / power socket close to a mirror

Josy was absolutely fantastic. Kind, helpful, thoughtful, and truly made us feel welcome. The rest of the staff was great too. The breakfast is quite good, and we had dinner at the hotel one night which was excellent. The dal makhani was one of the best we've ever, so don't miss it if you like the dish! Good location, great parking.

The beds are a bit firm, and some of the rooms and bathrooms could be updated.

The exceptional pleasant staff, who were very very helpful to ensure that our stay was Great. My gratitude goes the Front Desk Manager, Mr Mugesh & Mr Jaga who were always ready & available to advice & assist us on all queries. My gratitude also goes to the helpers Mr Mohin & the restaurant staff who were able to accommodate us when the place was crowded. Then again I must compliment the Great food that we ordered for Room services. This was very the best trip I have had in Oman since my work started in Oman in 2022. I will definitely make such a trip again to Sur & stay in Sur Plaza Hotel. What more can about the stay in Sur. Such a Great Experience...

There was nothing negative at all. No reason to complain..

One night stay on a 10 day driving tour of Oman. Room was decent sized and the bed firm but sleepable. Mini fridge to cool water. There is a very good little seafood restaurant about 100 m down the street. Vastly preferable to the hotel buffet and probably 1/4 the price. Lots of parking. The hotel seems to be popular with tour companies so they are set up for mass meals. Breakfast had a decent selection. Seem to be a good choice from what we saw around Sur.

We were surprised that this place only got the score that it did here on Booking. We found everything superb, from the service, to the comfortable bed, the airconditioning which was quiet (a big plus for sleeping!) and the excellent breakfast buffet. Having a freshly prepared omelette was amazing!

There weren't that many deck chairs by the pool.

This was a last minute booking with almost no alternatives. And you cannot expect much from a 2 star hotel, but this place is actually very decent. Rooms are clean, facilities are in good working conditions, staff is friendly and helpful and they even have shisha by the pool in the evening. Breakfast was better than what you would expect for the price - they even have an omelette station snd something else of that kind.

You really cannot compliant considering what they charge.

Good room size, firm bed, bathroom fully functional but a little dated. Hall carpets a little worn on our floor. We overlooked the main road. There was road noise in the room but it was not that noticeable with the drapes closed. Good breakfast options and variety. Their staff all very nice. They do have an alcohol service/bar, but options are limited and prices high even by the standards of Oman.

Everything was fine for a one night stay, and we recommend the hotel given the price and quality. More variety of better quality alcohol options would definitely improve the experience of staying here.

Everything was perfect, we dont understand how it doesnt have a higher punctuation! Even though its not in Sur center its a good stop when you come from the dessert and then continue to Muscat or the other way around. Its easy to get to sur centre with your own car. The pool and the room its nice and the breakfast had a big choice of things. The shisha corner its also very nice presented. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is well maintained despite its age, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were very helpful and plenty of parking out front and behind the hotel. The restaurant staff were accommodating of children.

The restaurant had overpowering smell of indian spices that even made the reception stink. I love Indian food, but i don't want a hotel reception that smells of Indian food. Room decor bland and uninspiring.
