Hotel Mocambo is an old glory which used to cater to the Mexican Jet set in the 1940's and 50's. It's wooden interiors reflect the style of its heydays even if it is now largely abandoned and in urgent need of restoration. We enjoyed exploring the old ballrooms and the vast installations of this Mexican monument.

One wing of the hotel has already been sacrificed to build a horrible high rise. Maintenance is limited now. Hopefully the owners won't let this forgotten pearl die to build something modern and characterless. Visit while you still can...

So much culture and history here. We had a great lunch at the restaurant with fresh gulf shrimp and learned so much history about this place from multiple employees. We love the pools and the sauna is so unique it's a must try! Monica at the front desk is so helpful and kind.

It needs a good bit of updating on the outside but that won't stop us from coming.

The view from our room was spectacular!! We could walk to the beach in 3 minutes. The outdoor pools were clean, and the pool towels as well. It is a nice place to go and relax.

Mmm, a suggestion might be for the hotel to turn the matteresses because most people sleep the right side of the bed. Put in some vending machines for late nigh convince.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location near the beach is amazing. The food was amazingly delicious. I would return there without hesitation.

The fact that the hotel didn't register the credit card number I did made the reservation with since I did not have the card on hands at my arrival which caused problems to pay and needed to withdraw some cash in ATM.

I liked the architecture and concept of the hotel. It is quite place with a good location. I liked the spacious room we had.

The bedding smelled bad, dirty, sweaty. It smelled really bad. The door and windows looks unsafe. The hotel is beautiful but definitely needs a renovation, specially in all those stairs that are inconvenient in our case to put the baby in the stroller, but imagine when you have a dedicated person on weelchair, and also for your staff, for example the man that kindly helped us with our luggage, poor man carrying all those heavy bags walking up all those stairs.

I loved the entire instalation, the vintage style was amazing like an old movie, besides the sunday that we were in the hotel there was a traditional and cultural event in which there were many people dancing "danzon" a very traditional kind of dance from this area of Mexico, (the event is organized every month or at least thats what they said). The Pools were amazing, the temazcal a nice perk.

Its really necesary give some maintainance to the instalation, the Hotel its a Jewel but just like every old propierty it imply´s heavy maintainance.

The location close to the beach, the pools (inside and outside - the one inside even with warm wate!), the huge area with garden, the price

Most things are old and would need some restauration work...then it would be as glamorous and more beatiful like in the old days

It was very beautiful an amazing breakfast in the morning loved all the pools and just overall loved the architecture

All the stairs lol and that there wasn’t many ramps so I could easily move around

This hotel was obviously an exquisite resort in its day. It is so big, it feels like you have the place to yourself! We came off season and were treated wonderfully by all the staff. The manager takes personal time for his guests. The Suites have an amazing view of the beach. The city is quiet. Our experience was very peaceful and relaxing. The food was delicious and the prices very reasonable. $10 CAN Breakfast buffet till noon.

The property needs a lot of work as it is so large. They have workers upgrading every day. The grounds are very clean and well kept. The rooms are spacious and simple, no coffee makers or microwaves. The Suites have a mini bar fridge. There are places with some mold in the walkways that may affect people with allergies.

Very spacious bedroom with a nice view and a hot shower. Several pools (indoors and outdoors). Restaurant inside (very good chef and price are quite affordable). Possibility to take your breakfast there. Very nice staff. Outdoor parking.

Cleanliness of the outdoor pool. Breakfast a bit expensive for what you can get. A bit far from everything. Smell coming out of the sewage from times to times. Not possible to put everything on your room (I mean that you have to pay directly after you take the service and not when you leave). Tourist tax was more expensive than what was said on the website.
