Konstantinos was truly an amazing host: warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay in Syros was perfect, always checking in to make sure everything was going well. He also shared fantastic local tips and recommendations that really made our trip special. His kindness and hospitality made us feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience highly, highly recommended! Concerning the room, it was amazingly clean and comfy. Perfectly located near everything. So in total: The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

Nothing, everything was top without any exaggeration

We absolutely adored everything. The host welcomed us amazingly, offered us an early check in, explained some very interesting insights about the island and the building. Send us numerous recommendations to visit which were all spectacular! The cleaning was done on a daily basis and was absolutely fantastic, all the staff were tactful, positive, helpful and made the experience even better! The shower facilities were the best I have ever used and the bed was so comfortable we fell asleep if we laid down for more than 5 minutes. By far the most amazing place we have ever stayed.

Because it was very central, when we had the windows open, it was slightly noisy but it was worth it because of the convenience of the location.

Upon our arrival Costas met us curbside and showed us all the features of the room. He also gave us a quick history lesson about the island of Syros and a wonderful list of sights to see and things to do. He also arranged a one-day car rental for us, when dealing directly the companies all had a two-day minimum. The pension has been renovated with every modern convenience yet with respect to the building’s neoclassical history. The large multi-jet shower is amazing!! (You just have to experience it!) At the same time the original stone wall is exposed and is a highlight of the room. The room was exactly like the photos, though even prettier in real life. The bed was made with 4 pillows: 2 firm, 2 soft which was fabulous. The room came with bottled water, Nespresso coffee maker and pods, plus cream and sugar, all restocked daily. We had the choice of open windows or a/c, as all the doors and windows had retractable screens. The windows are multi-paned and well insulated, and blocked nearly all the street noise. Every single thing was well thought through; even the drinking glasses were pretty!

The location is absolutely ideal—just steps from the vibrant Miaouli Square, the ferry port, and a delightful array of cafes, shops, and restaurants, yet tucked away on a quiet street that ensures peace and tranquility. The architecture of Ermoupoli, with its pastel-hued neoclassical mansions and marble-paved streets, felt like stepping into a living postcard, and 1844 Suites is perfectly positioned to soak it all in. Kostas, the owner, is the heart and soul of this experience. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with genuine warmth, personally guiding us to our impeccably clean and stylish suite. The room was a dream—featuring a supremely comfortable bed with luxurious linens, a modern bathroom with a fantastic shower, and thoughtful touches like a complimentary minibar and coffee machine. Kostas went above and beyond, taking the time to share the rich history of Syros, which brought the town’s stunning architecture to life. His passion for the island was infectious, making every story about Ermoupoli’s grand mansions and cultural landmarks feel like a personal gift. His recommendations were spot-on, leading us to unforgettable experiences. He pointed us to local treasures like the Apollo Theater and Saint Nicholas Church, both architectural marvels. But the real highlight was his restaurant suggestions—every place he recommended served mouthwatering dishes that showcased Syros’ culinary brilliance. Each meal was a celebration of authentic Greek cuisine, perfectly complementing the island’s vibrant food scene.

We extended our stay on Syros an extra night; sadly someone had already booked the room we were in, but a junior suite was available. We left our packed bags in the first room and went off to explore the island; when we returned, Costas had moved our bags to the new room for us. The junior suite had TWO exposed stone walls (a definite architectural plus for us!) It is a smaller than the superior suite, but it still had an awesome shower! The sink and counter are beautiful grey marble. Also, The room has an inner courtyard view, so it was extra quiet. Lastly, the property is a super easy 5-minute walk to the ferry terminal.

No complaints; it was lovely.

Everything about this accommodation is fabulous. Kostas was a mine of information about Syros history and super responsive to messages. The accommodation is exceptional. Set just one street back from the sea, it is a great location. The building is beautiful and so well kept, pristine! Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. Mosquito window netting meant we could leave the windows open and the rooms are completely mosquito free which made for a relaxing sleep. Every detail attended to including loads of water, coffee pods, tea and milk. It was quiet at night and we slept so well in an extremely comfortable bed with great pillows too. The shower is amazing!! We loved our stay here in this really high standard and beautiful place and will definitely be back next year for a longer time to really enjoy this accommodation.

Throughout our stay, Kostas continued to go above and beyond by sending us recommendations for beautiful beaches, great restaurants, stunning viewpoints, and even transport, always making sure we were having a great time. The attention to detail was exceptional—cleaning was thorough and daily, ensuring everything was spotless. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere that truly felt like home. It’s rare to find this level of genuine hospitality these days, but Kostas and the team at 1844 Suites Syros have truly kept alive the ancient tradition of warmth, friendliness, and hospitality toward strangers. The welcome, the size of the room with everything provided, and top quality furnishings and equipment. Especially glad to have water, milks, and coffee pods replaced daily - unusual. Very central location for ferry port. Plenty to look at and walk to off the main roads which are noisy. The room is a haven, and it was tempting to stay all day, but glad we walked up to St George's Cathedral as the restaurant/cafe called Maison du Meze was superb! Great views as well.

Everything was good

The room was very spacious and luminous, and it was also well decorated. The bathroom was big and comfortable. We enjoyed the amenities and having fresh water at our disposal in the fridge. Konstantinos offered us a warm welcome. He was helpful in organising our check-in and check-out and making it the most convenient for us. Thank you for everything and for your availability. We will definitely stay here again if we come back and recommend it to any friends visiting Ermoupoli.

Host Konstantinos Panagiotakis (Kostas), there to welcome us on arrival, was attentive to our every need during our four -night stay. The location - just a few short blocks from the main town artery - was perfect in every way. The two rooms for our group of four were spacious, sunny, well equipped and surprisingly quiet given the central location. The internal exposed stonework accentuated the accommodation’s historical appeal. Kostas’ farewell displayed his enthusiasm for the art of hospitality.

There was nothing at all not to like!
