We absolutely adored everything. The host welcomed us amazingly, offered us an early check in, explained some very interesting insights about the island and the building. Send us numerous recommendations to visit which were all spectacular! The cleaning was done on a daily basis and was absolutely fantastic, all the staff were tactful, positive, helpful and made the experience even better! The shower facilities were the best I have ever used and the bed was so comfortable we fell asleep if we laid down for more than 5 minutes. By far the most amazing place we have ever stayed.

Because it was very central, when we had the windows open, it was slightly noisy but it was worth it because of the convenience of the location.

Kostas, the owner, is the heart and soul of this experience. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with genuine warmth, personally guiding us to our impeccably clean and stylish suite. The room was a dream—featuring a supremely comfortable bed with luxurious linens, a modern bathroom with a fantastic shower, and thoughtful touches like a complimentary minibar and coffee machine. Kostas went above and beyond, taking the time to share the rich history of Syros, which brought the town’s stunning architecture to life. His passion for the island was infectious, making every story about Ermoupoli’s grand mansions and cultural landmarks feel like a personal gift. His recommendations were spot-on, leading us to unforgettable experiences. He pointed us to local treasures like the Apollo Theater and Saint Nicholas Church, both architectural marvels. But the real highlight was his restaurant suggestions—every place he recommended served mouthwatering dishes that showcased Syros’ culinary brilliance. Throughout our stay, Kostas continued to go above and beyond by sending us recommendations for beautiful beaches, great restaurants, stunning viewpoints, and even transport, always making sure we were having a great time. The attention to detail was exceptional—cleaning was thorough and daily, ensuring everything was spotless. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere that truly felt like home. It’s rare to find this level of genuine hospitality these days, but Kostas and the team at 1844 Suites Syros have truly kept alive the ancient tradition of warmth, friendliness, and hospitality toward strangers. The welcome, the size of the room with everything provided, and top quality furnishings and equipment. Especially glad to have water, milks, and coffee pods replaced daily - unusual. Very central location for ferry port. Plenty to look at and walk to off the main roads which are noisy. The room is a haven, and it was tempting to stay all day, but glad we walked up to St George's Cathedral as the restaurant/cafe called Maison du Meze was superb! Great views as well.

Everything was good

Host Konstantinos Panagiotakis (Kostas), there to welcome us on arrival, was attentive to our every need during our four -night stay. The location - just a few short blocks from the main town artery - was perfect in every way. The two rooms for our group of four were spacious, sunny, well equipped and surprisingly quiet given the central location. The internal exposed stonework accentuated the accommodation’s historical appeal. Kostas’ farewell displayed his enthusiasm for the art of hospitality.

There was nothing at all not to like!

The room was very spacious and luminous, and it was also well decorated. The bathroom was big and comfortable. We enjoyed the amenities and having fresh water at our disposal in the fridge. Konstantinos offered us a warm welcome. He was helpful in organising our check-in and check-out and making it the most convenient for us. Thank you for everything and for your availability. We will definitely stay here again if we come back and recommend it to any friends visiting Ermoupoli.

Everything was great.

Great location, host was helpful, very friendly and knowledgeable, he met us at the property on arrival and leaving. The furnishings are great, full supply of water daily and toiletries were lovely. Very clean and of a high standard.

We had two rooms which were lovely the one at the front of the property was noisy at times due to the motorbikes at night, but this is unavoidable due to location. The host has tried to mitigate this by good insulation with the windows.

Excellent option for Syros. The room is big and the bed most comfortable cocomat, you sleep like an emperor. Toilet is big, independent WC and shower, Molton Brown toiletries. You will find coffee and tea machines and fridge full of water and juices at no extra cost. 3 minutes from the port, 2 minutes from the main square, and walking distance to all restaurants and sights to see. The best, Kostas, kind and helpful with restaurants, taxis and all the help you need to enjoy Syros. Great option, we loved it all!

It is our third time in Syros and this is the best place we stayed by far. Nothing to mention as negative.

I chose this location from amongst several options after reading previous reviews mentioning that the owner was very helpful. As this was my first time visiting Syros, I thought that would be good. I was not ready for how exceptional Constantinos, the owner, actually is. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, he was supremely accommodating. And not at all in a hovering way where you feel smothered as a guest. He was there exactly as much or as little as we wanted. Honestly the guy should win awards. By the time we left, we not only had seen the whole island but had seen it through the eyes of a local who knows, feels and gets it. People who are passionate about any subject are interesting, and Constantinos is passionate about Syros. You’ll learn, you’ll enjoy and, if/when you want, you’ll have conversations about the island's history and what interests you about it or about your time there. Also, Constantinos knows everyone on the island and can make anything happen, which helps a lot. He knows what he's doing, and 1844 is all about genuine, truly comfortable and considerate hospitality. All of that would mean nothing if the room wasn’t of a very high standard. It’s perfect. Perfectly located… about a five minute walk from the ferry and basically five minutes from everything and anything else you’ll need or want in Ermoupoli. Perfectly appointed, exceptionally clean and well serviced, with a comfy bed, good linens, Nespresso and tea etc. The value for money is incredible all around. Overall an exceptional experience. I’m not one to write reviews generally, but made an exception for 1844 as a beautiful property with amazing service.

We spent 4 nights in this gorgeous, spacious suite. The location could not be any more central, right in the heart of Ermoupolis and close enough to the ferry port. Despite the lack of breakfast, the room comes with a capsule coffee machine, a kettle, and a minifridge replenished with water and other sodas. Konstantinos has been the most welcoming host, providing us with all necessary information about Ermoupolis and Syros more broadly. I'm looking forward to coming visiting again!
