Everything. This place was absolutely perfect. I felt so safe, I was so comfortable. Villa Maris, is one of the best places I have ever styed during my travels. The host Kostas was so helpful and kind. I arrived after 10pm to the island and he was there to walk me to the room, once I got off the ferry. He also, helped me with my bags to the ferry early in the morning when I was leaving. I just felt soooo amazing being there. I will be back!

I loved everything.

Everything about our stay was exceptional, Kostas met us at the main square when we got off our ferry and helped us with our bags to get to the house. He also upgraded our room for free. The room and facilities were fantastic and the views were amazing. Kostas also gave us a lot of great tips on things to do and places to eat, all we’re fantastic. I couldn’t recommend this accommodation more if you visit Syros.

Nothing. It’s worth noting though that there are a lot of stairs between the port/centre of town and the accommodation and to access the accommodation. That’s just the nature of Ermoupolis though, this was not an issue for us.

- Kostas is extremely helpful and is taking great care with his team of the common spaces and plants - All areas where very clean - The location is great (of course there are some stairs to climb but this is Syros!) - Don't take the car in busy periods, it has many two way streets that fit only one car - A beautiful old villa - The toilet was renovated and in great condition

- The walls in the room we booked needs some refurbishment - Our room was on the ground floor and next to the common kitchen that made it quite noisy in the morning (in combination with the slim wooden doors) - Maybe other rooms / floors don't have the same issue

Kostas is very kind, warm and helpful. We really appreciated him for helping us with the luggages up and down the stairs (lots of stairs because it’s Syros but it’s well-within our expectations). He is also very responsive and excited to give us many great local recommendations in Syros (and even Athens)! We also loved the home-cooked breakfast! Couldn’t recommend more in this comfortable stay. We hope to be back someday!

Wonderful old Villa close to the centre. Kosta met us at the square to help with the luggage - Syros is hilly and has a lot of stairs!! We also got plenty of good recommendations for beaches, restaurants etc. Our room (seaview) was nicely decorated and had a wonderful small balcony with table and chairs. Cold water available in the common kitchen. Breakfast was also nice.

Nothing. Just be prepared to climb the stairs in the heat but then that's probably an intrinsic part of Syros.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. He met us at an easy to find place and brought us up to the hotel. The hotel is a little up the hill. This is the reason I rated the location lower than perfect. Younger people will have no problem. Otherwise the location is great. The hotel room is in a nice house with a nice common sitting area. There are also stairs leading up to the roof where we enjoyed the views over the village and ocean. The room was comfortable and clean. The owner sat down with us to explain where to go, where to eat, what to see etc. just after we arrived. He was always very helpful in answering our questions. His wife also provides a cooking class, which we didn't take advantage of but I thought this is a neat idea. The owner also showed us the way to the ferry on the day we left. He even carried the suitcase of my wife!

The hotel room has two floors. Living room and bathroom is downstairs and bedroom is upstairs. I'm in my 60s. I had no problems going up or down the stairs (it would have been easier if I would be in my 20s) but guests older than me or with mobility issues could have a problem.

It's a gift to be guest at Villa Maria! The house is a true gem in the narrow streets of Ermoupoli. You have to climb a lot of steps to get there, but that's part of the game on Syros anyway. Kostas and Elisa have created an exceptional place. Each room is special, the view is gorgeous, there is a comfy common space behind the house where the wonderful breakfast is served. We enjoyed every second there. Will have to come back for one of the cooking classes...

This place only exists in dreams and somehow in the past! Its a beautiful neo classic building with separate big rooms and private spaces. It is made with love and the owners are a proof to that. They are really nice and helpful. From the first day felt just normal being there. Comfortable beds, bride spaces. If you like old school this is definitely the place to stay.

Its on the upper road of ermoupolis and that means : stairs up and down multiple times during the day if you move around. It takes up to 5 minutes to be in the city though even if you take the longer distance road to spare the stairs. Still the location is nice and quite and near vaporia if you want to swim and not visit the beach at any day.

The location was excellent walking distance to everything.And the accommodation was very nice, the place had 2 patios, which I enjoyed Kostas the owner meet me at the town square the day I arrived which was really nice of him, made things easier for me. If I ever I get back to Syros I would definitely wants to stay At Villa Maria again.

Beautifully restored guest house with super comfortable bed and quality linens. Kosta is a most gracious host and provided a comprehensive overview of the island and some terrific recommendations for places to visit and where to eat. Highly recommend staying here provided you’re happy to climb some stairs.

Nothing it was perfect (even got used to climbing the stairs in the heat).
