This hotel is wonderful, with the perfect combination of old world charm and modern conveniences. The location right on the harbour is perfect. We spent 3 weeks there and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was exceptional - very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were excellent. The only drawback was loud music on Saturday nights from a nearby disco, continuing into the early morning hours. Apparently this affects only the rooms at the front, so be sure to either ask about it or bring good earplugs. Also, some of the showers are a bit small, so if you're a larger person, be sure to ask for a room with a larger shower.

Perfect location in a beautiful old building where we felt genuinely welcomed. The staff was always friendly and ready to provide whatever we asked for. The breakfast is justifiably praised so be careful that you don’t overdo it. This family owned and operated property is a true gem. Theo has a great personality for the hospitality business and his mother turns out a fabulous breakfast.

People with mobility issues could have a difficult time with the stairs. This is an old building and compromises were made. The bathroom in Room 10 will be a challenge for a large person. However Room 10 was just fine for us and has a great view.

The plumbing is old so there was quite some noise every time the toilet was flushed. Also some “cheaper” construction of the bathroom door and the bathroom. The bathroom door didn’t close properly.

Impressive! Fabulous! Only Lord Byron can give a better description (after all it's a 19th Century building with great upgrade). Decor, Atmosphere, Service, Breakfast all more than expected. Throw in location to restaurants, port etc you can't go wrong. Yassou Thanassi (hope I didn't get hosts name wrong).

I'm ok with it, but there is no lift-but host will give you a hand. Good service.

What a fantastic old building and our room had a sea view with large double opening windows. Great location right on the sea front. All restaurants, cafes, shops and bars right on our doorstep and the double glazing shuts out the noise.

The stairs are a little challenging and the bathroom a bit of a squeeze.

Location. In centre of Athens near all the important sights, restaurants and shops. Loved the roof terrace.

Nothing except perhaps more storage space

Location was absolutely Perfect & an easy 5 min walk from Ferry . Staff greeted us with such a friendly & professional manner. Our room was also available for an earlier than expected arrival. Room 4 had a Lovely balcony overlooking the streets behind the hotel ..which had their own charm away from the Marina views from the front of the building. Also the breakfast provided was The Best we'd experienced our whole trip & I highly recommend the Omlette! Don't hesitate to book this hotel .. even with its quirks you will be happy you did.

Please be mindful their is no lift & Yes .. the 32 stairs are spiralled & rather steep. Theo kindly carried my bag but my partner had to take the challenge. We managed them daily but were very careful. Also the shower arrangement is a little tricky as curtain doesn't draw around full shower & the handset / shower head didn't sit securely in place.

Very nice welcoming reception and hosts, extraordinary breakfast (prepared to order from a menu, on request due to extrordinary circumstances even outside set hours), calm and clean room, balcony for everyone to the harbour, for relaxing in the evening, stable and fast wireless, help with the baggage, nice and above-standard room and bathroom accessories, comfi bed not causing any problems for my spine, nice location on harbour bay with view of old town. Acustically tight windows even kept Friday night buzz from harbourfront outside. Bars and grocery store next door.

I would have liked to have more time to stay, but the week was over too quickly.

Breakfast was exceptional - freshly prepared eggs of any type. My omelette was delicious. Also we were offered everything else on the extensive menu by Panos, our lovely host.

It's not a criticism but if you are not very fit, you may find the stairs challenging. However, Dimitri took our luggage up for us and brought it down. Also he advised us that if we were staying again, there are 2 rooms downstairs which we could ask for.

Full marks and bravo to owners and staff of Aktaion hotel! Location was superb right on the waterfront of Ermoupolis many rooms enjoy unlimited sea views of bay and the hills above making it a postcard perfect location. This is a very historic aristocratic mansion kept in excellent condition a perfect blend of traditional style with modern facilities and comforts. Professional staff very knowledgeable with spot on recommendations for sightseeing restaurants and more, truly every advise was with no doubt excellent! Breakfast was very generous, very tasty large portions and great variety of choices. Excellent location service and atmosphere will be back for sure! The top shared balcony is postcard perfect ! Thank you Aktaion hotel for a perfect stay !
