We loved everything about the Hermes Hotel. The location is brilliant - right on the harbour of Ermoupoli, an easy, flat 10 min walk from the ferry, and a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful town. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the daily breakfast. And our room was just incredible. We booked a Suite with Sea View which I think is one of the best rooms available at the hotel and it was wonderful - super-spacious, light, beautiful contemporary design with a separate sitting area, a huge bathroom (with shower and bath), and a terrace to die for. It's one the few times I've ever experienced a hotel (and room) far exceeding my expectations. We can't wait to return here in the future and would highly recommend this hotel if you're heading to Syros.

The people were so nice and the room was excellent and comfortable. Admittedly we had the best room in the hotel with magic views. Breakfast was very good. Our room had a parking spot which was gold. A few stairs but was ok

The location was great, situated at the edge of the sea on one side and looking out towards the port on the other. Finishing the evening with drinks overlooking the sea was a great end to every evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast self service was a bit crowded with no obvious flow. Getting the cases in the hotel and up to our room wasn’t that easy.

Totally thrilled with my one night stay at Hermes Hotel, staff so friendly (and spoke perfect English) hotel is well placed for charming Syros town, as well as the port & ferries, both in easy walking distance in 10 minutes. The hotel was super clean and quiet, and my gorgeous big, cool, room had a wonderful sea view balcony, and views of the garden. The bed was massive, and had super quality bed linen, so comfortable. Inside the hotel is a charming mix of exposed stone and some indoor trees, 2 storeys high! Breakfast was VERY good, both hot and cold. I live on Tinos now, just arrived 3 weeks ago, but I am sure I will be visiting Syros again quite often and will definitely try to stay at the Hermes.

The Hotel Hermes has a fantastic location on the seafront at Ermoupoli, Syros, and the grounds are lovely. Although ahead of check-in time, I was soon shown my room which was much appreciated, ground floor and with a terrace from which I could enjoy breezes and seaviews. The restaurant was good value, and all reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff I dealt with were pleasant.

I would have preferred a queen bed, which I had booked, rather than the two singles, but that wasn't a major issue. The location and outlook of the room outbalanced that. What became an issue is that the tiled floor in the room has several different levels, and these aren't highlighted, I consequently stubbed my toe badly, which impacted on my mobility for days afterwards. My other quibble is that the breakfast choices were limited and looked rather tired. I think the breakfast standard really let the hotel standard.

We had a lovely stay at Hermes. The hotel is very well located and we were happy with our second floor room with balcony that overlooked the sea and gardens. Listening to the waves from our room was a delight. The room wasn't big, but had plenty of storage and places to put our things. We appreciated having a small fridge. We had a walk in shower which had a grab rail, something I wish all hotels would provide. The staff are very friendly, and efficient. Breakfast was included and we were very happy with the hot and cold selection, especially the cold meats and fried eggs. There was also a good choice of types of coffee. The bar is comfortable and a pleasant place for an evening drink. We loved the views from the hotel, the sea one side and the port the other. The location is perfect for visiting the town of Ermoupoli.

The location of the hotel is less than 10 minutes on foot from the port of Ermoupoli. The property itself is wonderful, complete with a garden, outdoor terrace with a beautiful view of the sea. Staff were quite friendly and breakfast was quite good. Overall, good value for the price. Highly recommended.

The only thing to keep in mind is that not all standard rooms have a sea view. Ours had a view of the back street, which was somewhat disappointing. But it didn’t undermine the overall positive experience.

What a great hotel! It's a bit funky from the point of view of the lay-out (several levels that don't quite align, feels a bit like a maze), but after 1/2 day, I had it figured out. The location is superb - a little bit out of the way of tourists, and on one side looking at the harbor, on the other side looking at the sea (which I had - which was wonderful with the sound of the waves during the night). The bedroom was quite large, nicely appointed and a great bed; good bathroom; AC which I did not need to use; super clean. Breakfast was included with my rate, and was very diverse - savory vs. sweet, lots of options, and Greek coffee in addition to American and Italian coffee - loved it! The service was friendly and very supportive - front desk, breakfast, bar, and room service. I did not use the restaurant, but some people I met did, and said it was good.

Nothing! I'd stay there again in a heartbeat! It was truly a special place!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hermes and will definitely book here when visiting Syros again. It has a fantastic location not too far away from the port. We booked a sea view room and we were so happy with it - the balcony offered the most fantastic views stretching out across the water. Our room was large, very clean and the bed was big and comfy. The hotel has a great area with sun loungers and small steps down to the sea, making it really easy to go swimming. The breakfast is fairly basic but good for the price and with decent variety.

If I had to think of something I would say the hotel could perhaps do with a little bit of modernising and updating but ultimately it's a great place to stay, good value and we would go back for sure.
