The owner was exceptionally kind and helpful. When we were prevented from leaving Syros by high winds, she made our room available to us for a further three nights, so that we did not have to seek alternative accommodation. The hotel is small but full of character, with wonderful views.

Recommend guests to check with owner the best way to reach the hotel, which overlooks the town, and can be accessed by road or steps up from the port.

1901 Hermoupolis is a gorgeous place to stay. Set in a former mansion, our room had a balcony with a fantastic seaview and was beautifully decorated. Being up so high and opening the front and side windows and balcony doors brought a cooling breeze that was appreciated as the days were getting hotter (it does have a/c too). The room was equipped with everything we needed, had a large and wonderful bathroom and was very quiet. We loved climbing up and down the stairs of the city to get to the mansion but we understand taxis will take you to and from if you don't want to walk. Syros is really a charming island with pretty neoclassical architecture and nice restaurants and people and it turned out to be our favorite island of the Cyclades. Our host, Vicky, was very kind and helpful and we highly recommend this location.

Great view, lots of space, outdoor terrace was very enjoyable, coffee in room, the host was so helpful. They came and picked us up from the ferry and dropped us off. The room was very cozy and we enjoyed out stay very much. It is not a very far walk to get to everything, so the location is perfect (as long as you are okay with stairs).

I love having daily room service on vacation and we knew that was not going to be the case but it is certainly nice to have a fresh bed everyday. If you do not like stairs this location is not for you. We loved that we had such a good view but it does require stairs to get to from the port which is where we spent a lot of our time. This is typical for Greece but hard for seniors or families with kids.

Location was great, 5 minute walk from Ermoupolis downtown area but in a nice and quiet street. The room was lovely and we liked the terrace overlooking the city. The communication with the owner was easy and forthcoming.

The pillows were terribly hard and voluminous. Would have been nice if we had the choice between different pillows. The terrace was a bit dusty and there were large breadcrumbs from former hotel guests.

First off the owner is amazing!! We were picked up from the port which was amazing, made check-in so easy. As soon as we got to our room she made sure we felt right at home. Showed us the wine and told us to feel free to have some, also she had some fruit that was offered. There was a Coffee machine in the room which was such a luxury compared to other places we have stayed so far. The bed was so comfortable as well! I would definitely recommend this room to anyone!

The only thing I would say is there wasn't a bath tub in the room, don't get me wrong though there was a really really nice shower but I was really looking forward to a nice bath.

The rooms are really beautiful and Vicky is lovely and really helpful. The location was perfect with a great view. It’s quite but also close to everything needed. Rooms are clean as well and the staff is super nice. We were also able to leave our luggage longer in the room on our departure day which was great! Everything just perfect and highly recommended 😊

Everything about this property was excellent! The interior was stylish and charming. The balcony spacious and with a great view. The bed was super comfortable and the shower big and with great water pressure. The staff at the hotel are so lovely and helpful. The manager Vicky drove us to the port with our huge suitcases upon departure. The location is perfect, a short walk to Ano Syros, Asteria Beach and city center. We will definitely come back!

Great location, great and hospitable host! Super comfortable bed, quality air-conditioning. Nice patio for our morning coffee/snacks (on the house!). Fancy bathroom.

Beware of the stairs towards the hotel, if you are coming on foot from the port. It's indeed 10' walk, but there are some difficult stairs if you have heavy luggage. The place is reachable also by car via other route. The balcony is small and the view not panoramic, but we were out all the time or lounging in our high quality mattress, so we didnt mind much.

1901 Hermoupolis is very well located as it is only a 5-minute walk from the city center. Our room was exceptional with a vintage design and a balcony with a great view. Vicky, the person who welcomed us, was very nice and friendly. She offered us traditional Greek coffee and let us do a late check-out.

Only the fact that we had to climb a few stairs to reach the accommodation - of course the owners are not to blame, plus there are alternative routes with fewer stairs.

very friendly owner, collected from port & very helpful throughout stay. great views from rooftop deck (appt 1), very tastefully decorated, clean, comfy bed, good shower, quite high tech.

a lot of steps to climb up & down to town, no kettle in room to make tea/ coffee altho there was an espresso coffee machine. Room very compact but nicely furnished.
