Sagebrush Inn is a historic place in Tombstone, AZ. John Wayne stayed at this inn every time he made movies in or around Tombstone. Maureen O'Hara also stayed there sometimes. We stayed in the John Wayne room. There is a connecting room. I don't know if it's true, but the legend is that Ms. O'Hara stayed in the connecting room. As for the Wayne room, it was cozy, very comfortable and had a kitchenette. It was a bit small, but that didn't detract from the room. It's only 2 blocks from Allen St which is the main street in Tombstone.

Rustic is fun especially when you're in Tombstone. So, the room was great and the staff was even better. The only thing I don't like is that I heard the Sagebrush Inn has a new owner who is renovating all the rooms. The Wayne suite is soon to be renovated. The entire room will be updated. When they are finished I'm sure the room will be grand, but it won't be the same. It won't have the legend aspect.

The whole setup. The view from room one. The Wyatt Earp Suite was superb! The grill n fire pit were awesome. Sitting out there at night looking up at the stars. Listening to the coyotes. Magic. Barbara our housekeeper was pleasant and just a joy to talk to. The young man at front desk with long hair was so nice and helpful. Booking.com messed up my reservation but he fixed everything up in a great, efficient manner. I’m so sorry to have forgotten his name. I appreciated him so much fixing everything up for me. He and Barbara really honestly cared that we were happy and comfortable. This was best experience I’ve ever had staying somewhere.

Queen room was cute but king room was amazing. Loved the friendly front desk attendant who sent a sweet email about closing up early that day, but still waited for us. And we could not get over the rooms! They were so cool! So vintage. All old wood. Staying there Really brought the whole tombstone feeling full circle. My in laws were crazy about it too. We were all sad we were only staying one night. The Bed was much comfier than I expected. Direct tv worked great. Loved all the history in each room, which was named after a famous person of the old west.

The location to town was amazing. Just a couple blocks, which allowed us to walk. The room was also large and had a full kitchen, which I hadn't realized would be there. The water had great pressure and was hot! The overall feel of the room was comforting, rustic, homy, and welcoming. Loved all the exposed wood!

The mattresses weren't that great. One was way too hard, like laying on a board, while the other was very soft and sunk in. The bathtub was a large soaking tub with jets, but these did not work.

This was an amazing location! Walking distance to everything. As a single female with a service puppy, it felt safe, even at night when it was super dark… to walk my dog around. The staff were all super amazing and kind. Homemade cookies for me and the doggie upon check in! The rain shower in the king room was awesome, room was really big! Bed was comfortable. Definitely a cute motel in a rustic town :) liked it so much, I’ll be back in a week on my way back! Thank you all :)

That I didn’t stay longer

The location was perfect for visiting the main street and attractions and there was no passing traffic or persons thus it was quiet but only a couple of blocks from the action

As the reception is closed until 4pm there is no opportunity to have your room earlier even if it is ready or not used the previous day. I did have an issue with workmen on the roof at 0720am on my first morning stripping felt which I was not aware of and also could not use the room during the next day due to the noise. I have not downgraded my assessment because of this as it probably only happens every 10 years albeit an annoyance and inconvenience at the time.

Room was small but that wasn't a problem since I was traveling along. Bathroom was small - can't say I've ever seen a pedestal sink that small, but it was good enough for me. Hair dryer, soap, body wash, shampoo, & conditioner were supplied along with mini-fridge WITH a freezer. Don't often see that. Motel was "modern" in Tombstone when built in 1947 but has been updated.

Had trouble finding the TV channel I wanted one night (was there for 2) so just read instead.

The woman working at the front desk was wonderful. She was very pleasant and accommodating. Fresh baked cookies. I stayed in three different rooms due to some changes and last minute booking on my part. I loved the history of the John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara room. Great location. Even room to park my rv across the street. They have dvds in the front if you want to watch one, plus books in two of the rooms. TVs in all rooms but I never used them. Area seemed safe and was quiet. Within walking distance to everything I went to in tombstone.

The first rooms bathtub was a little dirty so I cleaned it before use. I changed to that room at the last minute so maybe they didn’t have time to double check it beforehand. I’m used to staying in bigger hotels with amenities like a dirty clothes bag, and fully staffed hours. Two of the rooms had tiny bars of soap and mini bottles of shampoo, while the other room had big bottles stationed to the wall. I was moving to the area for work while looking for an apartment so I had all my toiletries with me, which was helpful. I never asked the front if they had other items because I didn’t need them.

Sagebrush Inn is a lovely historic place, and ideally located on the aporoach yo Tombstone. The owners did all they could to make this a friendly and memorable stay. The WiFi was good and secure. The room was lovely, quiet and comfortable.. The walk in shower was good. The weather was hot and sunny, and the aircon worked well. A lovely touch was a couple of homemade cookies. Thanks very much. Tombstone is an interesting place, sadly a testimony to the fact that folk just can't get on in harmony. Anyway, Sagebrush is really good.

I was very happy here.
