We had a pleasant stay at Samed Hideaway. The hotel is conveniently located about 1 km from the pier, making it easy to reach by foot or Songteaw. One of the highlights was the beautiful view of the ocean – perfect for relaxing and taking in the island vibe. The room was clean and smelled fresh when we checked in, which was a great first impression. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They carried our luggage to the room upon arrival and even helped load it onto the Songteaw when we checked out – really appreciated that level of service.

However, there were a few downsides. On our third day, housekeeping came while we were getting ready, and although we asked them to return later, they didn’t come back. Also, the breakfast didn’t have many vegetarian options, which was a bit disappointing. Lastly, there were quite a few insects around the property, which might be expected on an island but still worth noting.

The location was great for those wanting to be away from the noise and bustle of the town and West Coast, while only a 15 minute walk, or 5 minute drive away. Plenty of local restaurants available, if you don't want to eat at the hotel. Staff very accommodating and happy. We booked for 4 nights and immediately changed that to 8. A pleasant hotel for families and couples. Open restaurant overlooking the sea is wonderful in the morning. Easy to book trips at competitive rates with the hotel staff. The grounds and pool are very well maintained.

Very little variety at breakfast, the menu didn't change. The bed was changed and turned down every day and towels replaced. But the floor was not mopped, so was somewhat sandy after a few days. The sea retreated from the restaurant wall at low tide and was probably ideal for swimming. But when we looked, there was so much broken glass, that we managed to pick up a bag full. Which we gave to the staff. I wanted to use a paddle board, but would certainly not recommend this beach.

Once they pulled the two beds together, but I was staying with the friend. And they couldn’t change it as the housekeeper left already. The hotel is super quiet and more for families. The beach isn’t clean. We found better beaches southern the island.

Before the hotel is a small beach, but it cannot be used, because all the washed-up garbage is not removed!

The pool was outside our rooms. The beach was cleaned with a breakfast served on the beach. Away from the hustle and bustle of the town in you want to chill. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

Location, Ambience and Serenity

The accomodation was simple but clean and had everything we needed for a few nights stay on Ko Samet. The room had a safe, aircon, was made up every day and kept clean and tidy. The pool was good to have , especially as the beach in front of the property is not the best on the island and the grouds were well kept. The breakfast which was included was very simple but satisfactory and the staff were always friendly and helped with anything we needed. The property is in a quiet part of the island, away from the main town and busier beaches, which we liked as we could relax, but if you want to explore the island you will need to hire a moped or pay for taxis.

The staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is not bad but coffee is so so.
