This is a wonderful place with a true sense of space and silence. Very peaceful, secluded and comfortable. The rooms are beautiful, and the food is excellent — especially considering how remote the location is. A perfect spot for rest and reconnection with yourself.

I understand the beach is public, but it would be great if the hotel could clean the area directly in front of the property in the mornings. That small effort would make a big difference. Also, it felt a bit strange that water was charged in the restaurant, while complimentary bottled water is provided in the room. It would be a nice gesture to offer drinking water for hotel guests during meals as well.

The secluded location, the possibility of walking to the nearby village, on-site meals at an affordable price and an excellent massage are the great advantages of the hotel, making the stay really great. Breakfasts were good, but the selection was often limited (some menu items were unavailable). The wonderful and smiling staff made up for these shortcomings.

Unfortunately, throughout our stay, we experienced noise, related to the expansion of the building, from the early morning hours, even on Saturday and Sunday . There was a lack of privacy – workers were peeking into the bathroom of one of the rooms, which was directly adjacent to the building site. This was a major drawback for someone looking for a quiet place to relax. The hotel manager failed to respond to our concerns.

I had a wonderful time at Amarta for 9 days, it was an amazing place to relax, enjoy the nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The food was great and the all staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The sound of the ocean can be heard loudly at night and was the best sound to fall asleep to (as well as the sound of geckos). Overall, the most relaxing holiday I have had in a long time and when I come back to bali I will be staying here again. Thankyou Amarta team for an amazing holiday.

Amarta Beach Retreat is a truly idyllic escape. The beautifully manicured gardens and stunning ocean views create a serene, private ambiance, especially with only 20 villas or rooms available. We felt as though we had the entire place to ourselves, making it the perfect destination for total relaxation. Located about two hours from Denpasar Airport, this retreat offers the chance to disconnect and unwind in a remote yet cosy paradise. We loved spending our days lounging by the inviting pools, fully embracing the art of doing nothing. The on-site restaurant was excellent, offering a variety of delicious local dishes. Favorites like soto ayam and mie goreng were perfectly prepared, and the attentive staff made our dining experiences unforgettable. A special mention to Aditya and Tia, who went above and beyond to make meal times even more enjoyable. The massages at the retreat were exceptional and added to the overall sense of rejuvenation we experienced here. If your idea of a perfect getaway is staying in a peaceful, secluded location with warm hospitality and breathtaking surroundings, Amarta Beach Retreat comes highly recommended. It’s the kind of place where you leave feeling truly refreshed and reconnected.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom Villa. Friendly staff, comfy beds, the breakfast included was great and included fresh pastries from the on-site bakery, which were lovely. We always got plenty of towels, water and the pools were very clean. They offered kids massages at the spa, and whilst not cheap, both of our kids said it was a holiday highlight. It's very out of the way, so not ideal if you want to shop etc but we didn't get hassled for anything, which was perfect! We'd been to Ubud and Nusa Penida exploring a lot so we wanted 4 nights of relaxing, enjoying the climate and being in one spot and this was 10/10 for that.

The showers went a little hot and cold (nothing huge but a little frustrating). Laundry prices were very high if you needed this service. Most meals at Lily's were good, probably an 8/10 but not the best we've had in Bali. All the staff were lovely though. In the villa we had a hotel being built near us, so everyone could see us and we could hear the guys working. Didn't bother us but they did play some funny Balinese music. Not Amartas fault at all but could annoy some people. The rate they were putting up roofs though, the hotel will be finished soon 🤣

The facility and its staff were awesome. Heavy rains entered our room one night; and flooded up to the bed. (this was not the fault of the facility). Food at Lily by the Sea was good (some choices were bland) but staff was great. Mie Goreng (free breakfast) was our favorite. The green mango and papaya/prawn salad was delicious!

The actual location of the resort was far from any tourist areas. It takes 2 hours from airport to get to location. At night, the road is narrow and dark.

This place is a paradise, away from traffic and mass tourism of Bali. It's a bit difficult to reach, so better have a car to move around. But then you are in front of the ocean and infinite beach of black sand with most beautiful sunsets. Just perfect for a peaceful stay. We were happy with massages at the local SPA, very adequately priced. They only have one restaurant, but the choice is wide and prices are reasonable. We have just gotten back, but looking forward to returning next year. Loved the place. We went on a buggy tour with a guide (bookable at reception), and it was beautiful to see local life and rice fields.

The staff are extraordinarily professional, friendly, and attentive - it is clear they have received training to the highest possible standard. This added to the peaceful nature of this beautiful retreat. The food was magnificent, the flowers and surroundings, pools and chalets were exquisite.

We loved every part of this stay. Some ideas (not at all taking anything away from this gorgeous retreat)... the spa would definitely benefit from offering shoulder-only or back-only massages, as only full body massages are offered, which (while amazing!) may not suit everyone - and men in particular may only be used to back only or shoulder only massages. This may boost bookings! Also, the restaurant would benefit from offering almond milk (or a milk alternative) and would definitely benefit from offering gluten-free breads, pasta and pizza - as this is now such a hugely popular diet, especially with the myriad of auto-immune issues caused by the heavy-gluten diet. We were fine, as we stuck to rice and potato and replaced bread with hash browns at breakfast. Delicious food though!

The food was excellent and provided many options from the Lily Restaurant. The staff were fantastic and extremely courteous at all times providing a great vibe around the resort. There are 2 pools and a spa which provide plenty of options to sit back and relax.

If there is any negative it is that it is approximately 2 Hours car drive from the airport, but the flipside is that you are far enough out of the city to enjoy regional lifestyle and a perfect place to relax. The most relaxing 7 days I have ever had.

Perfect location, beautiful black beach, good pools with big jacuzzi, good quality spa - best massage on Bali. Food was also delicious. Villa itself was big, but it was visible that in was under heavy usage. There is a lot of attraction around - quad / jeep tours, traditional Bali instruments factory in neighbouring village.

Food and drinks were expensive 20% more expensive vs other hotels where we stopped on Bali (all 5*). Smell near restaurant is not good there is a neighbour (think local family) who burned plastic during our stay. It would be good also if you think about kids there is no area for them.
