The view from our room is amazing, the facility is also very clean. Good communication from the host BEFORE we arrived at the property.

The day we checked out, the reception offered to call taxi cab for us and showed the price list for different destinations. But when we got on the taxi the driver scammed us and told us the price list is outdated and it’s higher now plus there’s an additional fee for picking up from the B&B. None of this was communicated to us upfront, and if the reception advertised that they could call taxi, they are responsible for presenting the correct taxi prices and hidden fees, or else they are just accomplice of the taxi scam.

The rooms we had with balcony had a great view and it was lovely to have a tea set with very nice tea in the room. The comforter and pillows were top notch and the bed was firm but comfortable. Location is great - only 3 minutes to old street via steps. One room even had a shoe dryer! The family that runs it are really nice and the great grandfather just likes to hang out in his chair and it is nice to see a family business run well!

Google maps point us to go up a much more challenging street so we had a bit of excitement getting to the parking area. Figured out later there was an easier way. You should go past the 7-11, past the big main parking lot on the right, keep going for 300 meters until you see Rock sign then turn right.

Beautiful views and spacious room with balcony. AC was strong. We appreciate the simple free breakfast. The cats on the premises were very sweet. Easy check in process, rooms were ready at earlier time. Free water bottles in the room were very much appreciated.

Climbing stairs with luggage was hard in the heat but that’s given with this town. Our room had constant semi-loud pops/cracking sounds coming from upstairs or from parts of the walls. The door to the bathroom was also very loud, needs some oil on the hinges.

The view was unbeatable. Overlooked the town of jiufen and on a clear day could see all the way to Keelung. Loved the balcony and the tea set that was provided. Place was very clean and air conditioning ran very cold. Also had a dehumidifier. Location was perfect, a couple minute walk from the nearest taxi drop off point. Only 3 minutes down some steps and you're right on the main street. Recommend going in the evening after 7 as that's when most of the tourists are gone but everything is still lit up. Makes for great pictures!

Everything was wonderful, except the only negative was that the towels had a bit of a funny smell, a little damp smelling but I guess that's to be expected when you're in the rainiest part of Taiwan.

It’s a lovely family run place, the hotel is super chill compared to the Main Street that’s a few minutes away. The rooms are clean, especially the washroom and there’s a shared balcony thing where we got to have breakfast and it’s so peaceful in the morning. And they have these adorable cats and free water refill station. And the family that runs it are very welcoming. I would really recommend staying the night here to really enjoy jiufen at night see all the beautiful lanterns glowing without the crowds!

The breakfast was not the best the soy milk had no taste and the sandwiches were just fine but that’s fine since it’s free.

The place was clean and pretty spacious, even a shoe drier. Although our shoes were too wet to dry in one night. We could borrow 2 umbrella's for free and we had breakfast prepared for us. The staff was nice and helping us with every request! The location was walking distance from everything. The room was very Cosy especially with the rain :-) . Also we recommend going to A-mei tea house around 10 o clock in the morning as it will be not busy at all.

The matrass was a little bit on the hard side and the comforter was small for 2 persons.

We came by car. The owner sent us a long and precise explanation on how to park near the house. I kind of "learned my lesson before" driving to Jiufen, so I did not even need a map to reach the place. In the evening the area was packed with cars but Dosun has a small reserved parking place with 3 spots. We were lucky enough to park there each time we came back to the hotel. I had learned how to read "Dosun" in Chinese before getting there and there is a sign telling that these parking spots belong to Dosun. Perfect. This small parking is just above / behind the hotel actually. Only a very short stroll away and some stairs. In case all 3 spots are taken there are 3 other parking places you might consider. I loved the lush garden in front of the hotel. Beautiful. And the lazy cats. Our room was just next to this garden. Love it. Nice room, nice decoration. Comfy. Toilet / shower clean and handy. Bed was nice too. I liked the desk too. I managed to work the TV remote after some time. Airco worked perfectly. We could see the garden from the room. From the garden itself the view over Jiufen and the sea is awsome. The small reception is nice too. An elderly man was there each time we came to ask something. The owner (or manager) is a friendly woman, she speaks English, which is a "plus". My Booking reservation mentionned "no breakfast included". However we got a small sandwich (bacon/egg/cheese) every morning with coffee. We could walk down to the famous old streets from the hotel via a number of stairs.

A plastified A4 page with "how to select TV channels" could help. Just a small "plus". Very easy improvement. Inside the room itself (this might not be relevant for other rooms in the more recent building of the hotel): some more space for clothes and / or luggage would be nice. A few places could easily accommodate some clothes racks.

The host doesn't have to prepare our breakfast, but they did and the breakfast was very nice... The view from the room was priceless... we all loved it I would say the only surprise was when our driver dropped us off, we have to walk thru grave yards.. that's a little scary for us.. but once we past that and got to Dosun.. it was all very nice.. the sign down to the jiufen old street was not clear so we actually have to walk around several time to find the right way

It was surprisingly easy to find the Dosun considering all the smalls streets, stairs and alleyways. We arrived and welcomed by the hosts and they were very helpful in explaining what is available and where it was on a map when we checked in. They provided lovely egg sandwiches and coffee for breakfast. The room had a lovely view and was warm on the cold rainy nights we stayed. The beds are a little on the harder side but still comfortable.

There wasn't anything we didn't like about Dosun. It would have been good to have more things open early in the morning to get a coffee or breakfast in the town, but for a sleepy town its still good.

Beautiful B&B with a stunning location and a very friendly and helpful staff. The room had an incredible view and was very comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. Lovely bathroom and shower setup as well. Staff does not speak much English, but couldn't have been nicer and sent very helpful and comprehensive instructions for navigation in advance. Also the property is just a short walk from the gorgeous main street of Jiufen, highly recommend!

The drive up to the B&B can be a bit harrowing, but the views are absolutely worth it once you get there
