Beautifully finished to a very high standard, luxury furnishings, beautiful artwork, bedrooms were light and airy and the beds super comfy. Except for our check in, the staff we encountered throughout our stay are all extremely friendly, courteous and very helpful. Quick to respond to requests and always have a smile and a nice conversation despite having to work no doubt long hours in extremely hot weather. Food in both restaurants was excellent.

We arrived quite late into Corfu after a long day sailing and we were shown to a sofa to await someone to check us in, it was commented on that my husband was still in his beach shorts which we felt was a little off, like a put down almost and then we were left to wait for nearly 30mins without the offer of a drink, a glass of water or even an apology for the delay, no one came to see if we needed to book for dinner as we arrived late, my husband had to visit the desk to see if anyone was coming to assist us, we had to ask twice to book us in for dinner and I had to go to the bar to ask for a drink. Having stayed at their sister Domes on the other side of the island prior I had expected a better welcome than that.

The original hotel area is fantastic. The breakfast options are extensive.

There is a significant new extension added to the hotel that is across the road and away from the sea which has increased room numbers by >50%. We stayed here and and whilst it is a good fit-out, this fact was not suitably advertised and it is not clear that the hotel is no longer a boutique hotel. The road is a bit of an eyesore. For a five-star hotel the breakfast was a buffet and not waiter service. Given the volume of guests the breakfast dining room was messy at times, although the staff were attentive.

The property was beautiful and right on the sea. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The location and proximity to the water was fantastic. Our waitress was fabulous - Nicoletta. Our room was beautiful with all the amenities. We were given a bottle of champagne.

The staff were all very nice, but there was some disorganization. For example, hot tub was not hot and we were told that it would not be hot for several hours. Pool water too cold for swimming. We had a rainy week and there was not much to do at the resort. Also, eating in the same dining room for all meals was tiresome - it would be nice if the half-board included a different eating location. Property had just opened for the season a few weeks ahead of our visit and staff seemed to be learning.

We weren’t told about free shuttle bus to Corfu town so ordered our own taxi. The hotel did make that right though & didn’t charge us.

The location of the hotel is second to none, and it was a pleasure to sit only yards from the sea when having breakfast in the 1962 restaurant.

It appeared that some of the other dining options were not available during our stay.

Where to even start with our experience at Domes Miramare... I've written positive, even glowing reviews before but I feel like I need to take it a step further to really do this hotel and it's incredible staff justice. Everything, EVERYTHING was superb and exceeded our expectations, from the moment we arrived until we left. We booked for our honeymoon and arrived fairly late on a Saturday night. Staff met us and took our bags, gave us an abridged checkin-in and walked us to our room where we were informed we had been given a significant upgrade for the week. Some gifts of food, sweets and prosecco awaited us in the phenomal room they had upgraded us to. The room itself had an unubstructed view of the sea and sunrise and the facilities were impeccable. The bathroom, the bed, the shower, jacuzzi, sofa...we could not have been more comfortable. The breakfast spread was extensive, varied and consistently delicious. The staff handling breakfast are to be commended for how efficiently they handle everything; you are never kept waiting. This is equally true for the times we dined or snacked in any of the restaurants or bars the hotel has. It is doubly true for the Degustation fine dining experience where we were served by the friendly and knowledgable head chef and sommelier, both of whom excelled themselves. I can honestly say every single staff interaction we had was a 5-star worthy experience. Each person was friendly, efficient and competent. The hotel arranged several excursions and various taxi rides for us. Everything was reliable and their choice of suppliers for the day trips was perfect. We briefly used to the spa facilities and found them to be excellent and up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. I should also mention the hotel has several excellent pools, restaurants, bars and comfortable seating areas that made it an absolute pleasure to relax there.

The shower seemed prone to blocking and did so twice during our one week stay. As a VERY minor gripe, my wife likes to order hot water for tea in the morning and this was generally not quite hot enough to make a good cup. This is a very English thing to complain about.
