The cottages are a good size and had everything we needed. We brought our dog with us and it was nice that they left food and water bowls for him. The property is in a very peaceful location, we went for walks in the nearby fields and saw a lot of birds, particularly eagles. We enjoyed the sauna and indoor heated pool, it was a nice way to start the day in winter.

The cottage was very cold when we first arrived, it would have been nice if they had preheated it for us. The tile floors are really cold in winter, even in socks our feet were freezing, we had to wear our shoes indoors.

It is our second time at Monte do Giestal, hopefully will come back again. It is a place, where I feel like home at countryside surrounded by nature and quietness, which we miss a lot in our busy, day-to-day lives. There is a place to take walk around cork trees, stroll down to the hidden beaches of the unbeaten Sines area and spend time riding a bike or trail run) Perfect place for the kid to swim in the pool, feed donkeys and enjoy nature)

Monte Giestal it’s a great place to spend some quality time. The spaces are wonderful, all very clean, the staff super nice always trying to make our stay the most enjoyable time. The breakfast it’s full of delicious home made delicies and very diverse. Our kids love the spaces, the pools, the outdoor tracks, the donkeys, everything! They are always wanting to come back, and it’s wonderful every time. It’s very calm the surroundings, so great for family time of rest and fun

Excellent environment to unwind and relax, proper nature stay. The local hike route was very nice. Staff was pleasant and the breakfast very good.

The bed was a tad noisy. Pricing system was a bit confusing, perhaps could be simplified in the future. Just make sure you stay in a night where the partner restaurant is open, otherwise food options are a bit far.

We spent 2 lovely nights at Monte do Giestal. Our Villa was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed for a short stay with our 2 children - a 5 year old and a 9 month old baby. A travel cot, a baby high chair for meals as well as a bath was also arranged, which was very handy. Breakfast was included and very generous (with hot dishes included) - we choose our preferences out of a menu during check-in. We personally appreciated the fact that it was delivered every morning to our Villa at an arranged time suggested by us. This was perfect and stress free with our 2 little messy eaters. Same for dinner, the Villa provides a small menu with a few options for lunch and/or dinner that we ordered from and got delivered at a set time to the Villa. Communication was always good from the moment we booked and the staff was welcoming. Our baby had fever during the night and they even delivered very late at night a thermometer and some paracetamol as the pharmacy was still a reasonable drive away. That in itself made our whole experience much more relaxing than having to drive with 2 sleepy kids (one feeling poorly) in the middle of the night. The location is awesome. Very remote, surrounded by nature, with a pedestrian trail, donkeys and a beautiful pool that we didn’t got the chance to try. The whole experience was very peaceful and private. The villa is located a short drive away from Badoca Safari Park, so perfect for us!

We loved the sustainable approach but felt disappointed with the fact that the Villa didn’t offer recycling bins. It was painful for us to bin everything into one single trash container. A small detail: The breakfast was fresh and delicious but the portions were a little big for our family so we’ve messaged and told them to amend our order for the following day with the intention to avoid food wastage but the exact same order was delivered even after confirmation. I think more could be done for the setting to be even more green conscious. For instances food items like: cheese, ham, jams and cold drinks could be kept in the fridge rather than delivered each day. if a guest needed a top up they could offer.

The staff was incredible, attentive, and always available to help. Great communication either at the reception desk or via Whatsapp. Different massage options are offered and a swimming pool and sauna area with clean and relaxing facilities. Dinner options with local dishes (no vegetarian options, unfortunately) delivered right to your door. The surrounding area is quiet as well as relaxing with even some nice hiking trails.

The internet connection was slow and there are some areas where it is difficult to have a cellular connection. However, this is understandable given the area and it is all part of the experience to take the opportunity to disconnect from everyday life stress and enjoy the surrounding nature.

it’s in the middle of no where down a dirt road , the breakfast was terrible scrambled eggs were from a packet , bacon was the worst , the cereal terrible , nothing about the breakfast was good and I suspect because we were the only ones there and it was delivered to our door not in the dining room , just because we were some of the first in the season should we suffer second rate food or conditions

Lovely house, spacious and well equipped. Cozy fireplace all set up and ready to go Countryside all around so perfect for dog walking. Don't miss the 300year old cork oak, magnificent.

25 euro charge for two dogs a bit excessive for providing just two water bowls.

We loved the location, tranquility and hospitality of this place. Perfect for families as it has spacious villas and wonderful outdoors to spend time in. The staff was very nice, and breakfast super delicious.

SPA needs an update, all areas are in a need for a reform.

Excellent! We stayed in a two-bedroom villa and absolutely loved it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The villa was very clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely try to come back.

My wife didn't enjoy breakfast, because there weren't too many options to choose from. The quality is high though.
