Very nice hotel in a great location in Alentejo not too over trodden by tourism. A good mix of local and international clients and great amenities. Very child friendly without being overly dominated by family stays. The staff were all really lovely and helpful too. Was a great choice for our first holiday away with 4 month year old baby would highly reccomend. Stunning view overlooking Santiago de Cacém at night especially.

The bed felt a little uncomfortable to me after a few nights and we could have done with the air co being a bit lower in the room. To be fair not something I took to the management or sought help for. Bit random but if they could somehow make the old inn building more incorporated into the experience would be amazing. Eg utilising the terrace for cocktails.

Octant Santiago is a very good "luxury" hotel inside Santiago do Cacém. All food items were of top quality, and the service from all staff was top notch! The facilities were excellent and the room even if not the biggest, was very good, and actually had a big bathroom, and a small balcony with a really nice view. The outside pool is small but very good for the size of the hotel, and they provided towels and anything that was needed for the pool. Also the children activities were excellent, my 6yo daughter went to do a free cooking class for homemade cookies, and they had a proper children activity room with a lot of toys. For adults the Gym was also very good for the size of the hotel, and had fresh water available. For me this is one of the best small luxury hotels I have been.

Nothing to point out really. Santiago is a very small but beautiful city without much activity, but there are some things to do nearby including Badoca Park. This is a good hotel for a "relaxing stay".

A 6 star experience from the time we arrived until the time we left. A hidden gem overlooking the medieval town of Santiago do Cacém. The service was warm & impeccable at all times. Maria, one of the dinner ambassadors, took such great care of us. The food, using Alentejo products, was exceptional! Try the "painted" butter infused with smokey pork fat with local bread. We spent hours at the pool where there were plenty of loungers. The hotel welcomes furry pets & we were some of the few guests without a dog! The hotel is geared for kiddies & is popular with families. We stayed mid-week & it was lovely and relaxing On departure, we were even given eco-friendly water for the journey. We'll definitely be back.

Everything was perfect

Breakfast and food were incredible. Good pool, comfy beds, in general hotel is clean. Most staff members were helpful and friendly.

Sound insulation was not the best. We could hear noise of cleaners and their carts all the time. You can also hear barking dogs of other visitors. Some staff felt like they are annoyed to be working there. Maybe it was just us. But it general they were helpful.

Friendly staff who briefed us on the facilities, helpful barman Patrick, super breakfast with a delicious omelette dish of the day and best bacon and sausages of the trip so far fronted by a cheerful waitress.

No hooks in the spacious bathroom to hang things eg bathrobes. No facial tissues although the toilet paper was soft enough. Strange regular (every 1m 15s) sound of water flushing/filling coming from the cistern which backs into the bedroom, very weird and off putting.

The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. There was a wide variety of options – from fresh fruit and pastries to hot dishes and vegetarian choices. The quality of the ingredients and the thoughtful presentation really stood out. The service was attentive, and the buffet was always well stocked. A perfect way to start the day!

I only stayed one night while passing through

Wow what a gorgeous property. Luana the check in person was so lovely and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble at this property. We were upgraded to a superior room which was nice. It was large, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large. They gave you complimentary hats and a tote bag which was a nice gesture. All the amenities were great. The pool area was very clean and pool towels were provided. The breakfast and dinner we had was beautiful and plentiful.

The excavator noise from an adjoining property, however it finished at 7:00pm and started again at 8:00am. This is only while they build a new property and had nothing to do with Octant Santiago.

we loved everything! - the hotel is ideally situated with respect to the town and castle, the views are extended to every room - the restaurant had amazing food and the staff is amazing - the shared living room was filled with people watching Benfica win the title - the premises where well maintained at the lower levels and it was amazing to be able to walk through the grass from the room to the pool - the room and bathroom had everything we needed - they were very accomodating for parents with young kids: 24h checking and late checkout up to 2pm at no extra costs!

- upper level garden seemed to have died, it's out of sight, but at this time of the year that could have been an amazing space

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of days to relax at the pool. When we arrived we found at there were construction works next to the pool (not at the hotel property). We were at bit disappointed, but the staff has done absolutely everything in their power to make our stay perfect. It’s very rare to find such excellent service and I would like to thank each and every member of the staff for all their efforts. You made our stay perfect and we will definitely come back!

Nice ambience, a big plus that we were served a glass of wine as we were checking in, such a nice touch! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were cozy and had an amazing view over the town. Pool area was very relaxing. The food at restaurant was delicious! We had dinner there and breakfast, top notch! I would definitely come back here again and recommend it to friends

You can tell that the hotel is a bit old, especially in the bathrooms. The gym was not according to photos, so don’t have any high expectations on that part. All the employees were very polite but their training were lacking a bit (in terms of serving wine, and us not receiving our food at the same time). To be fair, there were a lot of ppl in the restaurant, but I think that a 4 star hotel should be able to serve wine correctly.
