The hotel looks new, very modern and clean. The room was nice and of a reasonable size. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of options, including orange juice, but no hot food such as eggs or bacon, and the only fruit to eat was small pieces of watermelon. Rita, the manager, was absolutely lovely. She welcomed us warmly and managed the cancellation of the next two nights with no problem, refunding us the money. We are very grateful for her kindness.

The bathroom had a very strong sewage smell, and the extractor fan was extremely noisy. At night we couldn’t sleep well because there were dogs barking constantly in the surroundings. Although not the hotel’s fault, Porto Covo itself felt too touristy and overcrowded, which took away some of the charm for us.

We had a glorious time at O Lugar. It went so far and above our expectations on every level. Every morning we sat on our balcony watching the swallows, listening to the waves and eating our delicious breakfast. Rita and Pedro are wonderful hosts. Kind, warm and helpful, they go out of their way to make your stay a special one. Our room was immaculate, calm and a lovely oasis of peace. We will be back!

The daily breakfast on the balcony was a a true highlight and always served with a smile. O Lugar is in a central location in Porto Covo and it's easy to go explore the town itself or surroundings from there. The space feels cosy and relaxing and is super clean.

The walls are not totally soundproof, so you may hear your next door neigbours sometimes.

Beautiful guest house in a sweet town. The breakfast was delicious, served in the “living room” area looking out over the view, since we didn’t have a balcony. Both the owner and the other staff we talked to were friendly and informative. The room was exceptionally clean and the design and decor were lovely.

The sound carries a lot through the walls, and since our room faced the street, we heard street noise until late and then early in the morning. If you book the room without a balcony, keep this in mind. We could not sleep with the windows open due to this, so the AC was a helpful amenity.

It is beautiful, super clean, the hosts are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is AMAZING 🌟. Also nice is the shared kitchen where guests can make coffee/tea and there are some cookies in the jar. Nice touches.

It’s a bit more expensive than other places but good value for money. Unfortunately there was a neighbor’s dog barking ALL night. Nothing the owner/hosts can do about it but that was a bit much 😡

Excellent location, beautiful room, very clean and tidy. The host was absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home. Do not miss out on breakfast at the property! Was honestly the highlight of every morning. Delicious, fresh, all locally sourced and delivered to the door with a smile. Could not ask for anything more!

The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the hosts were fantastic! The breakfast was very nice, and there was also coffee and tea freely available throughout the day. Location was ideal, on a quiet side street of the village with beautiful views.

Perfect for a weekend stay when most of the time we were out in the beach. Close the centre of the village and the beaches. Very convenient for access to some very good restaurants and in particular our favourite Lamelas

Lovely property in perfect condition with nice views. Breakfast was to order and included a wide variety of tasty meats, cheeses,yogurt, breads, and excellent coffee. The owner couldn’t have been nicer and assisted us with baggage transfer and other issues
