The family room was very spacious, new and comfortable. Employees were all great. As well location, if you like to be in the center of the city. Both of our sons had Food poisoning and vomited all over the room. The room was promptly cleaned. We though the hotel would charge an extra fee for cleaning, but didnt.
The only strange thing were the eggs on the breakfast. The employee never said we could order eggs. The second day I saw someone orderding and asked for an omelete. When i ordered another one for my son I heard the employee saying i should pay an extra.. There was a limit of eggs per guest, but the lady corrected him as we were in a family room and could ask for one more. After that episode no more eggs.

The team is very kind and the hotel is a beautiful building. Hotel restaurant is very tasty and the complimentary cocktail is delicious. Very close to witch’s market and the church which was the starting point for my walking tour.
Shower drainage was not good. They offer a day rate but it is not competitive (I stayed 2pm-9pm to freshen up between my overnight buses) and it was cheaper to pay for a full stay on booking.com (not sponsored). Team is very rigid on the breakfast rules and politely refused to give me a takeaway breakfast box because I was leaving before midnight. Traffic can be bad due to location though (leave VERY early if you’re taking taxi/uber especially if you need to make it to a bus/plane)!

The Hotel is excellent - location, staff, facilities - everything! It's a hotel with great history displayed as a museum! The breakfast on the top floor under the dome was exquisite! Great! A perfect place to stay and relax after intensive days at Salar de Uyuni. Although it's located in a very busy area, inside the hotel was very quiet and serene - an oasis of peace! We sat and relaxed at the shared areas which are very well decorated. The bar was very cozy with a friendly bartender who went out of his way to make for us non-alcoholic cocktails :-). The restaurant has great menu choices. I highly recommend staying in this hotel. Thank you for making our stay a very lovely one!!!

La Casona is the best choice if one needs to stay at central location (or rest and get acclimated to altitude). It's very clean, but the charm is in the property itself. It is like a giant old villa, but excellently preserved. Interesting to explore within the hotel, see various artifacts, or just enjoy the terrace. Rooms are spacious, clean, have good hot shower, safe, well restored wooden floors and furniture. Separately, I am greatful to the managementl for resolving a certain towel matter in my favour (staff accused me of leaving dye spots on it after my departure). The lady who translated the incident very graciously handled it. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to defend myself.
For all three days room heavily smelled of chemicals (possibly cleaning agent). All towels are quite old, thin, and yellow-ish. Strange for a boutique hotel.

The hotel is located in a very historic building, and we really liked its museum-style interior. The view from the breakfast terrace is just breathtaking. and it's very close to the historical attractions (within a walkable distance).
it was really difficult to sleep due to the noise from the street. someone was shouting (maybe advertising something or whatever) from 10pm to 3am at least. it was extremely annoying. Also, we didn't like the food in the onsite restaurant, just in case.

The location is great, especially if you'll stay in the city just for a few days. As it is in La Paz downtown, you'll be near main tourist spots such as Mercado de las Brujas and Calle Sagarnaga. The breakfast is very good - while enjoying fruits, local bread, and local granola, you can appreciate the view of Iglesia San Francisco.
The hotel is located on a big avenue so, depending on where your room is located, it can be a little bit noisy. The rooms have noise-canceling windows, so the sound is low - for us, this wasn't a problem.

my first review was a mistake since I was thinking of the other hotel, I like the hotel because of the location which is really in the heart of La Paz and the hotel itself is like a museum. an old colonial building where the owner was able to display old stuff from the past. it is abut 30 min from the airport depending on the traffic
the towel. they need to change the towel. I have slept in so many hotels and this is the one that I don't like. maybe they need to change their towel because it looks like good enough to be a rug because of the color. I am so sorry to say this but it is not so nice to see the towel looking like it has been used so many times.

Location close to “tourist quarter”, first room spacious but next to Main Street so noisy through the night, second room smaller but in middle of building so quieter at night. Breakfast location top level of building great views, great food choice and great staff.
First room was single, second room was double, but first room was larger and had more storage space than second!?

My wife and I stayed at La Casona in La Paz this week and had a wonderful experience there. Not only is it located at the heart of the city, and not only does it have such a joyful and comfortable architectural design, but also it has the best staff who provided the superb service to its customers and made them feel at home. We highly recommend La Casona as the place to stay in La Paz.

Everything about La Casona was excellent. It is one of the coolest, most beautiful hotels I've stayed in in South America. Every corner of the hotel is unique. Having breakfast in the copola is amazing and there are plenty of options. The staff went above and beyond for us, and stored our bags while we went on a few overnight trips. Extra plus was having a driver waiting to pick us up at the airport after going through the immigration chaos at 3am.
Only downside of this hotel is its location. It is on a very busy road in one of the more touristy areas. However, this means that its easy to get to and find and there are lots of food options nearby.
