We loved the location right on the sea front , the room was clean and comfortable and could not be faulted , the staff in general were friendly .

We had one particular problem, when at breakfast we ordered our coffee and breakfast but after 45 minutes we still had not been served even after asking the waitress , eventually I had to leave to go to the airport I again asked at reception to serve my wife who remained . When the food came it was not as ordered . This spoiled the meal experience at the hotel . No explanation or apology was given by the staff .

Our room was really nice; beautifully decorated, with excellent bedding, really clean and with everything we needed. Air conditioning was very comfortable. The view from the small balcony was really good. Housekeeping was great, with our room made up nicely when we returned. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Parking was nearby and secure. We went half board - food quality was generally high, both the breakfast and the dinner.

There were some niggles. The room was a little too small for the large bed, which meant one of the bedside tables was tiny. The light controls were fiddly. The shower control was imprecise and the water temperature was not consistent. It could go from hot to tepid without the tap being touched. Service at both dinner and breakfast was a bit chaotic. Our dinner order arrived piecemeal, with my main course arriving ten minutes after my wife’s! Wine arrived after the main course was eaten. Not good! My main course was not hot - just warm. Breakfast on our first day was also rather disorganised, but on day two, everything came out quickly and there were no errors or problems.

Newly renovated, clean & tidy, nice style (might be a bit too posh for some), friendly & helpful staff and finally one of the very few hotels in the region that actually know that there is more to housekeeping than just making the bed, and that it’s the small details that matter (they even pick up your slippers and place them in a specific way - thumbs up)!

Room could be a bit more spacious, the complicated touch lightswitches with the weird symbols are a bit of an overkill, and they need to find a way for the parking gate to open/close automatically or by the guests, rather than having to wait for someone from the front desk to notice you and open it for you - Or just leave it open! Breakfast is a’la carte and even though I didn’t try it, the selection on the menu seems a bit limited. For this price segment one would expect a decent buffet.

We had a lovely suite overlooking the sea.the receptionist was so helpful and friendly.she even waved to us as we were sitting down to breakfast.the decoration and quality furnishings were of a high standard.good variety of food to eat.car parking was just off the side street of the hotel on the level.

The carpark is quite small so get in early.the lightswitches need some explanation for older people.quite a busy road passes the front of the hotel before you get to the sea.

Modern hotel with very comfortable beds Luxurious bathroom and towels of very good quality problems we had with the interior were fixed fast breakfast had to be ordered from a small menu but was freshly prepared and of good quality free parking space behind the hotel was a plus

Everything was in order; however, a few small details that would have made the guests feel even more warmly welcomed and the stay truly perfect were missing.

Breakfast is not for buffet fans, an A-La-Carte menu. very well cooked and aesthetically served. The room is clean and the bathroom is new, well-designed, and well-equipped. The staff is friendly and helps us to get along. We even got a complimentary bottle of wine!

The room had a sea view, however before the sea, there were tourist curbside restaurants and then a port. We had to walk about 300 meters to meet the beach where we could enter our bare feet. This is not the hotel's fault, we are kind of nature lovers and Grand Hotel Kalamata is in the middle of the tourist attractions.

The fabulous location, delicious meals (breakfast was included), helpful staff, excellent facilities, and general vibe were consistently outstanding. Our room was spacious, well laid-out and appointed, and nicely decorated. There was a small balcony off our bedroom with outdoor chairs from where we enjoyed an excellent view of the water, harbour and harbour-side restaurants. The business facilities were good, too, enabling an early morning meeting (via Zoom) with overseas colleagues in a suitable and quiet space.

There was nothing we didn't like about our stay here, except that we would have liked to stay longer!

Here in Messinia, in this hotel p is alive and thriving!! All the staff members, are hand picked to make guests feel comfortable, looked after and special. The Grande Hotel is a true master of personalized hospitality, exemplifying the essence of a five-star hotel experience. The staff assisted us with every query above and beyond our expectations. We were greeted by our names. Staff found exactly the activities and we wanted. They found us hair salons, booked us cars for our tours, restaurants and responded to all our needs. Staff members made the most of our time in Messinia , immersing us in the local culture and traditions. Their knowledge of every corner of Messinia was well received. We had so much fun exploring. The staffs passion for Greece and the Messinian culture enriched our understanding, and their genuine warmth and care made us feel like cherished guests. The food was brilliant; fresh and abundant. Our kids, 14 and 16 had a feast! The coffee was divine! Dinners exceptional. We also had some issues with booking concerts and ferries online with our credit cards, and the wonderful staff helped us out just like we were part of their extended family! We were stoked! We could name the staff but honestly, there is no point as every single one was of the same caliber, hospitable and happy to help us. Bravo 🙌 and THANK YOU 🙏 we will definitely be back!!

Literally nothing not to like.

If there is a Greek riviera, this must be it. A beautiful modern room in a historic but completely remodeled building with marble, marble, marble and exceptional artwork. Dine inside, just in front, or just across the single lane road/walkway under umbrellas and on the waterfront. Staff are friendly and accomodating. There are many restaurants to choose from lining the waterfront. Watch each morning as the local boats bring in the day's catch. Our room had two balconies! Convenient free parking just behind the hotel.

I felt silly that it took me a few minutes to figure out how to work the shower. It really wasn't difficult.

Grand Hotel Kalamata is a new building, a great hotel right by the sea. The pedestrian street in front of it is just being completed. Our room was amazing. We got a better room on the sea side. It also had a balcony. The bed was comfortable, the pillow selection was wide, the sheets and blankets were of high quality, as were the towels. The welcome drink was a nice gesture. Thank you! We found a place for our car in the hotel parking lot. The behavior of the staff is polite and correct, but also cordial. The professionalism didn't cover it up which is great! Kalamata is a fairly large city and the Grand Hotel Kalamata is located on its "edge", that is, if you look from the direction of the center. Of course, the location by the sea is also an advantage.

The breakfast did not quite meet our expectations, although it was plentiful of course. I missed the quality, , e.g. in coffee. Perhaps the young waiter was not yet fully aware of what each breakfast option entailed and could not explain the choices well enough.
