To our surprise we were up- graded without any extra costs to a beautiful room with fjord view. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows and fluffy duvets. Great shower and toiletries. The hotel was located in stunning surroundings close to the beach in an almost park like area. Walking distance to Vikersund. The breakfast was amazing with a huge spread of everything you could ever wish for. Great coffe!. Very friendly and hospitable staff.

Breathtakingly beautiful view of the Tyrifjord from our room. We were very glad to have paid extra for a lake view with a balcony - that made our stay extra special, and I was able to get some incredible photos of the Tyrifjord at sunset. The room was lovely. Generously sized, with a fantastic bathroom, and a fridge. Very comfortable bed, with good space either side of the bed, and bedside tables with lamps. The staff were really helpful. Online ordering worked great - we ordered a pizza, a burger, and some beers, and got a text to say our order was ready to collect from reception. Prices for food and drinks at the hotel were reasonable for Norway. The coffee was excellent too. Vikersund is the closest train station to the Krøderbanen heritage railway, which we came to visit for the twilight train and a steam gala. The Krøderbanen is totally worth a visit for heritage railway enthusiasts - it's the longest standard gauge heritage railway in Norway, and the location is beautiful with wonderful scenery - and some gorgeous locomotives and rolling stock.

Not a criticism of the hotel itself (which was fantastic), but there is a severe lack of buses in Vikersund at the weekend. We were visiting the Krøderbanen so had to pay for taxis to and from Krøderen (about 25km away from Vikersund) for the twilight train, and also to get to Krøderen for the gala the following morning. So we spent almost as much on taxis to and from Krøderen as we did for two nights at the hotel (excluding food and drinks). It's about half an hour's walk from Vikersund station to the hotel, which is OK if the weather is good, but not so nice if it's raining.

Wonderful Hotel in an axcellent position just in front of the lake. We had an upgrade of the room for free with lake view and balcony and was really amazing. Breakfast at an exceptional level (quality and quantity and attention of the people working there) and staff very nice and pleasant.

The size of the room but only because we asked for foru beds and a double room with two additional beds is not really spacious. But we enjoyed anyway at 100% our stay

Delighted we chose to come back and mark our 25 anniversary here. Tyrifjord Hotell is located beside Norways 5th largest lake in absolutely beautiful surroundings. Everything clean and tidy! Our room was so lovely with a varanda looking out on to the lake and beach below. We had beautiful weather too and was able to go for walks round the aria. The food tasted amazing. We dinned for lunch, evening meal and breakfast ( breakfast included) Staff so friendly and would go out of their way to help you. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

We stayed at the hotel directly after the flood in Norway, it was impressive to see how the hotel management made sure that the water did not get inside the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms very clean and tidy, the town is some 2 km away but very reachable by foot or other transport, and the restaurant was excellent. Wifi was really good in the areas we visited. We honestly enjoyed our stay, and applaud how customers were cared for!

What would be really helpful is if the hotel would have some bikes for rent, for hotel customers to get around more easily. Otherwise our expectations were met or exceeded.

Hotel reception mostly not in reception area, we had to wait 10minutes to check in. It says hotel has car charging, after looong drive it was a bad surprise that hotel is not supplies the charging cable. We were planning to eat the dinner at hotel restaurant but because of car charging we had to go out.

The possibility to have dinner upon arrival. We got a balcony with view on the lake. The place is quiet. The breakfast was of good quality. The staff was kind and helped us to call Avis assistance in the morning !

We loved the place - especially the mini-gold, the sandy lakeside with chairs and the restaurant. Beautiful place to stay on the way back to Oslo. There is even a steam train nearby.

The staff were very helpful. The young lady at the receptionist changed my room when I asked for a change in the twin beds pushed together. She immediately gave us a room and that was lovely.
