Great location, wonderful breakfast with extensive selection of options, owner/manager went above and beyond to help find solutions for us after our cycling trip was derailed with a cycling accident resulting in my daughter breaking her collar bone. He was even willing to lend us his vehicle to sightsee if we hadn’t been able to rent a vehicle. He persuaded the local Avis at rental to open on a Sunday to allow us to continue our journey.

From Canada, we are used to AC in hotel rooms. Norway was experiencing unusually hot weather so it made sleeping difficult. It was nothing that the hotel could do about it other than they were able to provide a fan which certainly helped.

Scandic Hønefoss is located in the center of Hønefoss. Attractions and restaurants can be found in walking distance. The room we stayed in had reasonable size and offered enough comfort for a pleasant stay. However, if you are planning for a longer stay or you are traveling with a lot of luggage you‘ll find that there’s not a lot of storage space in the room. You can hang some clothes but that’s it. Therefore you may consider checking with the hotel staff upfront which room category is best for your needs. The breakfast was very good with lots of things to choose from.

The hotel doesn’t have its own parking lot which means one must either use the charged parking area across the street (NOK 269.- per day) or look for a FOC alternative elsewhere.

The most friendly helpful folks we have ever encountered in our travels! The room is super quiet and the bed a cloud. Breakfast choices are very broad and yummy. Thank you very much!

Spacious enough room (had a double room with two beds, good space between them and two nightstands, one desk+chair (minifridge) tv (we didnt use it) and a huge comfy chair and table, doublecloset, and small wallfixed bench for suitcases (do NOT sit on it, it was ready to break) Bathroom with wc and bathtub w shower curtains. Clean. Nice view of the place. Windows could be opened - great for me, but more dangerous if kids there - 5th floor - as they could be opened all the way and about waistheight for an adult (scary enough for me, but Im a bit claustrophobic if I cant open them for air) Great and helpful staff. Loved the breakfast! More than enough to choose from and great raw materials for the food. Lovely bread. And good opening hours until 10:30! Pool table, shuffleboard and chess in the lounge/reception area. Very comfy beds!

It was definitely a bit worn out - but as it was clean it didnt matter. Wall to wall carpet on the floor - that is a huge no no in my book - I really cant stand it. But it seemed clean enough at least. :) Some noise from outside at weekend nights, but not in a very problematic form - plus with air plugs it was no big deal. Tired toiletfacilities in the basement under the lobby - but clean.

The location was perfect. Friendly staff & a great breakfast with lots & lots of options. Would recommend the Scandic Hønefoss

It was warmer than we thought it would be, but honestly they thought about that both rooms were equipped with a fan which was really nice :)

The fact that I was allowed to leave my bike in the lobby of the hotel and the friendly reception.
