This is a unique place with a very generous and social host! We found it more like a home than a hotel, due to spontaneous conversations in the shared areas and in the surrounding green gardens. It is probably a backpackers dream, but it also appealed to our family on our car trip to Oslo! The house is old and has a lot of character. What can be kept clean has been very clean (showers, kitchen sink, fridge etc). The kitchen and showers are shared, but there is a good family/community feeling to it, and all the guests we've met have been very positive and sociable. We're a family of four, with two teenage daughters, and we all loved this place! The owner Jörn is a very positive person and very keen on making the guests feel at home. We felt he really cared about the people coming here, even though we're only staying two nights. He also have a lot of energy to make special things happen, and last night he arranged a duo consert with professional guitarists in the garden, and invited all the guests for free (with voluntary donations to the band)!!! We all ended up with a wonderful night filled with conversations with both guests and neighbors of all ages, which is something we've never had before in other places we've stayed at. So, all in all, we are extremely happy with our stay and with the personal touch to everything here!

It was an exceptionally hot day and night in Oslo, 27 degrees C, and our room did not have an AC, so we had to sleep with the window open and without blankets in our sheets. This is probably uncommon though, and most of us slept ok anyway.

The guest house was great, we stayed for two nights and we really had a great time: the room and the bathroom were pretty clean, and so was the kitchen. The house is located in a great block, very calm and close to the city center: we walked there and it is about a 30mins walk, but you also have loads of public transportation that you can use. The villa is close (20mins walk) to skøyen station, which takes you to both Torp and Oslo airport. There's check in/check out but the welcoming message that you receive at your arrival is very clear and makes it very easy. Bonus points for the cutest cat in the world that welcomed us on our arrival.

I'd just like to point out that I would change the locks of the bathrooms and rooms, cause they made bit of a noise especially at night. No other problem

We booked a room with my friend and expected a place like two bedrooms in a dorm. But instead we booked a full room for us at the same price with two beds in a dorm. It was a cosy and big room with a kettle and microwave 😊 Also, in the kitchen, there was everything to use from the pan, pot, glasses, salt, sugar etc. Bathrooms and kitchen were averagely clean. 👍🏽

The only negative side is the big bathroom. There were two bathrooms but in one of them the shower cabin's glass door couldn't close and they had removed a part of it. Also the shower head couldn't stay fixed. Still the other bathroom was working well.

I liked the kindness of our host, the international environment, the opportunity to meet other guests in the shared kitchen. I liked the style of the old wooden house, the garden, and the quiet neighbourhood. We could also go downtown and in a natural area (an island nearby) easily.

Be aware that it is an old house, and some equipments can be dysfunctioning, we have to share space with others. For us, it was really ok but if you're not comfortable with it, you might want to consider another stay

This place has a cosy vibe, cute cat. We came here on a snowing day (-15°). We came earlier than the check-in hour to store our luggages and it took a long time waiting for host to reply our message (He said just come and didn't give us a password for the entrace door 💀). So we had to wait for a while and luckily there was a man living under floor let us in his home (cute guy) to wait. The room was cold at first because some one turned off the actomat (At that moment I thought I would become Elsa). But then it was warm at night thank for heater. The kitchen is really good. But It was cold, too. The lady said maybe someone opened the window because It never cold like that. Anyway, I love this place, the house and the room. I felt like Elsa here ❤️

Villa Internationals combined the best of what a small hostel in the countryside might offer, in terms of opportunities to connect with other guests around the wooden table in the cosy self-cooking kitchen, and the welcoming warmth of a visit in a family home, with childhood memories and an absolutely unique style. The garden is beautiful, and must be a great place to spend a summer evening, and the frequent buses in to town are only a short walk away.

The wi-fi was very unstable during my visit, but I understand this is something they are working on, and the villa is unfortunately not accessible for visitors with mobility issues.

The villa is a green retro osasis hidden in the midst of apartment buildings. I was impressed by the amount of books and antique details in the house (I sketched a few), and I didn't feel like going out from this sanctuary. There was, for example, a 1929 German edition of "All Quiet on the Western Front" on my table. I had the pleasure to meet the owner who was very friendly and hospitable giving me a tour around the house. He was happy to hear that his villa was my first option in the booking site, which turned out to be the best. I skipped the options of Stockholm and Copenhagen to stay in this place.

No complaints! I just wondered where to hang my damp towel so it won't stain the retro chairs and sofa.

It was a life time experience for us in Oslo. The host was excellent. Even if we triggered the fire alarm while cooking, the host took it easy and responded in a cute way. The location was near to a market and alcohol store. Also, the public transportation was real close and if u are interested in nature walks, the best locations are in 2-3 kms far. The rooms and kitchen were pretty specious and cozy.

Nothing particular. We had some problems with their cute cat. She tried to enter our room a few times.

The house is very cool, I like the idea of it being a house opened up to guests, and it was an amazing design. Very homely. Has a kitchen and all the facilities you need. We only stayed one night but was nice and restful. It’s in a lovely area with all the embassies and consulates, and near the marina. Shop is a wee walk away, and there are buses from the centre to nearby the house. We think we spoke to the owner the next morning, and he was nice, but other than that was all self check in/out.

It is quite far away, but there are good transport links there. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re travelling solo and wanting to meet people.

Unique experience of the old world. Romantic and a little crooked 19. century manor-house hidden behind old trees in a wild and beautiful garden, situated in the heart of Oslo’s best west end, close to trains, trams and buses is a good alternative to the standardised, impersonal hotel rooms of today. Don’t expect perfect lines and straight floors but clean rooms with charming atmosphere. Songbirds in the garden definitely do contribute to make the place feel like the oasis it is.
