The view was stunning, the location was great! The hotel is beautiful. The food in the restaurant was good and the view was winsome!

The parking adjacent to our cabin was taken by neighbor car which should be designated to each cabin. The room was very hot when we checked in at 5 pm, took very long time to cool down. We opened the windows which there were gaps between the screen and window frames, so bugs and mosquitos could get in. We told the front desk but nobody came to fix it. We had to put tissue to seal the gaps. For the money we paid, we expected better service.

The lodge was very comfortable either a big fire to take the chill off a rainy-ish day. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was the best we’ve had on our trip. All fresh and tasty dishes. The outside fire pit was great and the pool was nice

We stayed in the “Bison” cabin section. When I say the cabin was small, think way smaller than an inside cruise ship room. My husband and I are both on the small side. I don’t think a larger person could have fit in the shower, it was the smallest shower I’ve ever seen. Hard to get the shampoo rinsed out of your hair! Also the floor in the cabin was very slanted.

This place is a classic. The lodge itself is a beautiful, rustic space with a ton of character. It was restored after a fire in the 70s or 80s but still retains the feel of an old lodge, and indeed, it dates to the 1920s. We stayed in the cabins, which are simple but very clean and comfortable. They were made from Sears catalog kits in the 1940s or 50s, I gather. The property backs up to the big burn that occurred in the southwest corner of Rocky Mountain National Park a few years ago, but the woods on the property escaped damage. The view down to the lake is world class.

The restaurant is good, but it's not quite pulling off what it's trying to do (or justifying the prices). That said, the view from the restaurant is world class, and the room is beautiful.

The Grand Lake Lodge has a prime location overlooking Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. You can't beat the views from the porch swings at the Main Lodge. We stayed in a Queen Half Cabin with a pullout sofa. The room was updated and comfortable. The Main Lodge, Pool and Fire Pit area were close by. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening. All the food was delicious. Prices were a little high, but that's to be expected in a tourist town. Easy access to RMNP and the town of Grand Lake.

The showers in the Queen Half Cabin were small. There's just not much space. If we were to return, I would reserve a Full Cabin.

The common area of the hotel ( the deck, the restaurant, the pool, the fireplace ) is just amazing! We truly enjoyed swimming in the pool and enjoying the views!

The room by itself (we had a queen room) is ridiculously small. The pictures on Booking didn’t match the factual room at all. The bathroom is so small (I’m a 0 size person), that even for me it was hard to shower there. The view from the room… no view at all. Even no assigned parking spot!!!! We didn’t like that, while paying approx $300per night… and yeap, still mo breakfast at all for that price )))

Beautiful place, great food and amazing location. The view from the main porch is just stunning. The food in the restaurant was great compared to the prices, better tham most restaurants I came across during my stay at Colorado (I have to admit I haven't gone to many foodies locations during my stay) It was quite and pleasant, the pool and hot tub were clean and nice and that was exactly what we were hoping for after 4 long days of camping at the RMNP - I would totally recommend staying at the GLL and would for sure come back there as soon as I get the chance.

The property is beautiful and well kept, but the wonderful staff went out of their ways to make our anniversary special. Having worked here in 1965 and ‘66, it was so nice to see all that had been upgraded. However…the staff could not have been happier and more welcoming.We loved dinner in the dining room. Food was great and the dining room staff could not have been more welcoming and fun.

The beauty of the property

There was no attempt to follow ADA guidelines: no railings to the main entrance, our cabin and many other places. We realize that the property is historical but there needs to be more railings for safety. We helped an elderly couple walk to their cabin. Staff should have been available to assist. More signage is needed for check-in. We carried our heavy suitcases up the stairs and was then told at the desk that we needed to drive to our assigned cabin. We carried the heavy suitcases down the stairs to put them back in the trunk.

Gorgeous fire pit and poolside views. Hiking trails all around. Super friendly staff.

Shower space was a little tight, and complimentary coffee in the morning could be stronger 😁 Not related to the lodge, but the downtown area is extremely expensive, and they only have two grocery stores (convenience stores really) that are super expensive. Pro tip: go grocery shopping before for snacks and food!

The view, the amenities, the charm, Grand Lake Lodge is such a treat to visit. The cabins are quaint, but have all the essentials needed to make your stay comfortable. I loved getting to sample the spa bath products. The view from the lodge and fire pit cannot be beat! Treat yourself to a drink on the patio after a long day of hiking and watch the sunset. Overall, we loved our stay and will be back.

The rooms are small, but have all the essentials. Not an issue for us as we were out and about most of the day.
