Convent location, great staff, comfortable beds, nice size rooms, great pools, lounge chairs on the beach with the same poolside bar service, almost every room had a great view of the beach and pool, beautiful property!

AC didn’t work in our first room so we had to move. 2nd room worked, but it was loud and you could tell it needed a tune-up. Fan also squeaked which was annoying. No breakfast option outside of the restaurant buffet ($25 usd per person), or room service. Coffee shop was great, but opens at 9 am and doesn’t serve any breakfast (no pastries, etc.) and no coffee option in the room.

The staff are amazing! Juan Carlos and Renaldo are the best servers on the beach; Juanita in the breakfast restaurant always smiling and my cafe de olla waiting for me; Edward food and beverage director excellent had us sign up for the hotels reward program (which was free and got us a discount on food and drinks!); Gregario the guard at entrance excellent remembered us from last year’s visit; Nuvia and Sofia at the frontdesk were helpful making dinner reservations, exchanging money, making change!

Seemed to be a towel shortage for the beach while we were there but we bring our own sand towels so it didn’t inpacr us.

If you are looking for quiet and relaxing this property is definitely for you! The pool outside the room and amenities outside were pretty good! The restaurant felt a bit overpriced for the value. We only had breakfast and it was about $1,000 for two people (including tip). The rooms felt a bit outdated and our floors were pretty dirty (make sure to bring your chanclas). Other than that, everything outside the room was great, the bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the amenities.

Dirty floor in the room, rooms felt outdated or poorly maintained, restaurant was pricey (at least for breakfast). If you are looking for activities and mingling with locals- this property is not for you. This property is on the hotel/resort side. All you will find is hotels here and will need to take a taxi for everything. To mingle and find more local/accesible food you will want to stay in town!

The property is beautiful, the staff is courteous and friendly, it was not a lot of people which feels more comfortable if you are not into crowds and want to relax, the beach it’s somewhat private, beautiful and clean. We will return for sure.

The furniture in the room (tables and chairs were outdated and the ones on the balcony were kind of rusty) but we can live with that with no problem, the buttons on the phone were not working, they were pushed in so made it hard to call to the different areas of the hotel, ex. Front desk, room service) suggested to update and change the phone. Also the towels were kind of dingy.

The property has a fabulous location at the East end of Tangolunda Bay. The beach is very inviting with different areas to enjoy the ocean. The property is comfortable, walkable with different food and beverage options. The pools are inviting and never crowded, with a variety of areas to lounge. The rooms and beds are comfortable with great AC and hot water. We will be back for another stay.

Camino Real is at a great location. Pool was shallow but nice. Room were large & very close to the beach & restaurant. Beach was for hotel guests only. Morning brunch was very good, lots of variety & good value. Lunch was good in a patio area over looking the beach. Staff was excellent, kind, welcoming, accommodating, & friendly.

Room #67 - Towels (room & beach) was hard to obtained. Small dots of mold was starting to appear in the shower/tub due to lack of ventilation. Toilet gases would fill the bathroom every so often due to improper bolting, thus allowing it to rock back & forth. Dinners were was barely warm. Servers took the brunt of the complaints even though they had no control.

Stayed here for one week over Christmas, we had one of the rooms with a private pool overlooking the larger pool area. Great property, right on the beach. Room was clean and staff was excellent. Very relaxing environment, would definitely come back.

These were more inconveniences, that didn’t have a large impact on our trip, but are good to be aware of: 1. There was only one outlet that was accessible to plug into, so no one’s phone was ever able to be 100% charged since we had to keep rotating. 2. Despite having 3 restaurants, only 1 is ever open at a given time, so food/drink choices are very limited onsite (offsite- a 5 min walk down the hill- there are a couple of restaurants, and then way more options in La Crucecita). My biggest gripe here is that the coffee bar/library didn’t open until 11am and the main breakfast restaurant wouldn’t do coffee to go.

Location was perfect. Views are beautiful. Room is a good size. Lots of water pressure.

Would be nice to include breakfast in the price. Pool towels aren’t available after 7pm even though it’s posted they’re available until 8pm. Tiki bar closes to early! When I visited 2 years ago upon check in they served you with a glass of Jamaica water. That doesn’t happen now.

The entire facility was excellent. The room was a good size with a large bathroom and the plumbing work efficiently. The balcony is an excellent location to grab a snack or just sit and relax. The balcony pool was a real bonus and we used it to cool off after a day on the beach or to start the day. You had to pick your time for a swim at the beach when the water was calm, which wasn't very often. Otherwise, sitting under a Palapa reading and enjoying a cool drink, was easy to take. We liked the fact that the beach was semi private with only the occasional vendor able to get over the rocks that isolated the beach at high tide. The main swimming, pool, although quite shallow was always groomed to be clean and comforting. There was always adequate shade at the beach and around the pool. The staff were excellent.

Visitors with mobility issues will have problems with all of the stairs. The resort is built on a slope, and so to get from one area to another always requires climbing stairs. Having said that, the facility is well constructed, and the stairs are uniform, and even. Construction noise and dust at one end of the property was a minor inconvenience. The only other problem, and it was minor, is that the chairs in the room and on the porch were not very comfortable.

Stunning hotel, amazing pool (heated), on the beach. Great staff. 5 star experience and i would go back in a heartbeat.

Menu options for dinner was the same each night. receptionist at check in was pleasant but didnt give us any information about the place. we didnt know we needed a credit to order drinks or food by the pool. so we needed to go back to reception to add money to our room number. wish we were told all of this at check in.
