We spent two nights at Islambek Hotel but we would have liked to stay more. The rooms are ok but we enjoyed the most the terrace with lovely views of the two minarets. The staff was extremely helpful, organizing the day trip to Muynak and various taxi transfers. They even prepared the breakfast for us although we were 30 minutes late after the long but interesting trip to what is left from the Aral See. The atmospheric old part of Khiva is probably our favourite place in Uzbekistan and the hotel location is very good to explore it on foot or go out of the citadel to buy stuff from the supermarket, have an autentic shashlik at the restaurant in the park or need to get to the train station.

We used the hotel as basis for Khiva and for visits to the surrounding area and to the Aral lake (a very long drive but not to be missed, great adventure!). Murad, the owner of Islambek Travel did an excellent job of organizing our tours including our private transfers to Bukhara and Samarkand. Highly recommended!

Exceptional hospitality of the owner and his family. Humble and generous people. We arrived 6 hours before the official check-in time but were let in immediately. The owner also manages a local travel agency where we booked a tour exploring 3 castles and were very happy with the driver and the car. Breakfast was good. We also enjoyed a cup of tea at the verandah/terrace on the 1st floor. The air conditioning worked well. If one stays in a room on the ground floor it may even not be needed.

The rooms are rather old but it is compensated by the hospitality of the owner & his family.

It is located in the Itchan Qala few minutes walk from all the main attractions in Khiva and with a beautiful terrace with Minarete View. Additionally the owner, Murodbek, provides plenty of daily and multiday trips to the region and Karakalpakstan (we did Aral sea one) and transport to most of Uzbekistan for a reasonable price. Ample room. Breakfast on average for Uzbek starndards.

Bathroom could have been bigger for a 4 people room and lacking window.

Very hospitable English-speaking staff - we were invited to sit in on a post-wedding reception. Excellent location, within walking distance of everything in the Ichan Kala. Basic but very cheap accommodation. Good size clean room with good heating, needed because the evenings (mid-October) were chilly. Breakfasts were basic but wholesome with lovely fruit selection.

Well located, comfortable and clean. Pleasant, helpful, English speaking manager. Good value trips to forts and other locations available. Decent WiFi.

I loved the location. The hotel is in the Old City. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of choices for day trips, organized by the hotel.

It is a welcoming place in an excellent location. The hotel management also runs a tourist agency that helps travelers to move around in the vicinity and beyond. I particularly appreciated being helped to find a last-minute ride to Nukus even though in high season they were booked up their eyes.

I stayed a few nights and was very pleased. Very good location in the center of old Khiva. They offer many trips around the area and beyond. The hotel owner is a very kind and helpful man. I can recommend Islambek hotel to everyone.
