Khiva is a small city, so it's highly recommended to stay inside the walls (each time you cross the wall you have to pay unless you go through a door with no one checking - there are some). Arkanchi hotel is near one of the gates in a quiet square. To arrive to Khiva we arranged a transfer with the hotel for 15 euros cash each ride. The room is ok, very clean and quiet. Staff is nice and breakfast is very complete. You can have the breakfast inside or it's nicer in the interior patio. Hotel has no restaurant, so we ate at Arxi restaurant (managed by very young people but awesome!) and The Terrace (needs reservation if you want to be on the upper level). Really worth it to visit Khiva at night as some buildings are iluminated

Great position in the old town. Loved the dark wood floors of room, very calming and elegant. Good sized room. Comfortable beds. Nice breakfast. Great views from terrace.

Large gap under door meant of lot of corridor noise, particularly in the morning when groups were exiting early. More of a group hotel than we had imagined. Roof terrace had a great view but wasn't really an integral part of the building - you get to it via an exterior spiral fire staircase from the ground floor, slightly awkward if anxious about heights. No food served up there whilst we stayed in October, so photos a bit misleading as we had hoped to take breakfast on the terrace. Breakfast was decent but the single staff member on duty was willing but overwhelmed by need for replenishment. There was a half-terrace option by the breakfast room for a bit of a view.

The hotel is located a short walk from the place to buy day tickets for Khiva. You get a day ticket for all the sights in the city that you need to visit. Every attraction is a short walk from the hotel. It has a terrace for looking over the city at night. The reception organised all our transport to and from the airport. Everything for our trip went very smoothly. Lastly they serve an excellent breakfast

We asked for a room in the ground floor. But we arrived earlier than the check in time and were given a room on the upper floor. This was not a problem because the hotel staff helped us get our bags up and down the stairs

The Hotel Arkanchi in Khiva was very communicative from the start; they arranged a pick-up from the train station and they accommodated an early check-in for us that was quick and easy. The location is right near all the walking spots & interesting attractions and shops and yet we were surprised a how quiet the area was. The shower had great water pressure (important to my wife) and the beds were comfortable and soft with good pillows. The breakfast buffet is varied; eggs, potatoes, meat and oatmeal all warmed, along with numerous salads, a variety of cut fruit, cold cuts of meat, bread, and pastries. The rooftop terrace is VERY nice as we used it for sunrise and sunset, twice! Watching the sunrise is a real treat!

We truly enjoyed our 3 nights 4 days stay in this hotel. Its location is perfect, inside the fortress of the Old City. All places of interest was within walking distance. From its terrace, we can see nearly all Khiva's monuments including the iconic Kilta Minor Minaret. Breakfast was delicious & nutritious. Simply love the decor of the dining room (traditional Uzbek decor). The service of the staff is excellent esp Mr Nadhir at the reception counter, always smiling & ready to help. He arranged our transport for our early morning flight (Urgench airport). Highly recommended hotel!

Great location in the centre of the old city of Khiva. The hotel had really helpful and friendly reception staff, and all the team members were super helpful: cleaning staff and catering staff. I needed to adjuct my airline booking and a member of the reception team- Jamsid- could not have been more helpful in providing assistance. We had a very comfortable room and a could use a wonderful roof terrace. Wifi worked for the most part but was better in the lobby area. Breakfasts were great and offered a good choice. I recommend this as a super choice for a stay in Khiva

A great location in the Ichan Qala. A spacious room with a good bed, full bath bathroom. A kettle for tea and coffee and.a fridge. There is a water dispenser in the hall and a jug and glasses in the room. The staff were most helpful with a late check-in, restaurant recommendations, and arranging taxis.

I left this hotel with a heavy heart. It almost felt like home to me even for the short time (3 nights) I was there. Its location is the best location one could ever ask for, right at the heart of the old town just walking distance to all of Khiva’s historical sites. The room was spacious, everything worked perfectly including the heater, wifi, everything. The staff here are some of the kindest I’ve met in Uzbekistan and probably in all my travels. Jalol and the rest of the staff were all warm, accommodating, and always smiling. The breakfast was filling and could fuel up for the rest of the day.

It is inside the walled old city. All attractions are inside this city. The hotel is very quiet. There are many restaurants and small shops nearby. All staff are very helpful. I remember Mr Amir who helped me a lot with my phone and roaming. The terrace is an interesting place from where the entire city is visible. The taxi and Yandex taxis stop just beside the hotel boundary.

A minor issue. One of the twin beds was a bit noisy.
