Beautifully renovated castle hotel in the Slovak countryside with modern facilities but still retaining its historical charm. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. We ate in both the a la carte restaurant and the buffet restaurant (you can flexibly book a flat-rate buffet dinner for 25 EUR per person at the reception) and the food was great in both cases. The wellness area has a decent-sized pool and hot tub and had fairly long opening hours (10am-10pm). While there is not much to see or do in the immediate surroundings of the castle (skip Zvolen, it's an industrial town), the beautiful cities of Banska Stiavnica and Banska Bystrica are both just a short drive away – we visited both on a single day trip.

If I had to nitpick then I'd mention the disappointing coffee situation at the otherwise excellent buffet breakfast. The coffee machine was either out of milk or dispensed really bad coffee on both mornings we tried to use it.

The room and bed were clean and comfortable. The swimming pool jacuzzi and facilities were modern, clean and had a relaxing atmosphere. The decor throughout felt very authentic & we especially liked the restaurant and the upstairs lounge where we could sit and play chess.

The customer service was lacking. The receptionist seemed unwelcoming and uninterested. The waitresses at dinner were similar. They just stared at us as we entered the restaurant and stood waiting to be seated, but didn't come to show us to a table. They took a long time to take our order and were inattentive throughout our meal. The receptionist at the spa wasn't at her desk when we arrived therefore didn't explain to us the policy of no swimwear in the saunas or show us where to get towels to cover ourselves.

Facilities: TheHotel boasts top-notch facilities, including a well-equipped fitness center, a serene spa, and a stunning rooftop pool. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the pool, where I could unwind while enjoying the spectacular views. The spa treatments were rejuvenating, and the therapists were professional and skilled. Location: The hotel's location is ideal, situated in the heart of the city with easy access to major attractions, shopping districts, and public transportation. I found it convenient to explore the city and return to the comfort of the hotel after a day of sightseeing. Recommendation: I highly recommend The Hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay.

I always wanted to stay at a castle! Make time to explore downstairs and the Wellness Centre. Large comfortable hotel rooms, with a bar fridge and tea and coffee facilities in the room. A good choice of meals on the breakfast menu as well at a Continental option. It also had a nice undercover outdoor eating area.

There was not much else to do in the area and it is around a 15 minute drive into Zvolen.

Great place to stay, spacious and clean room. There was a wedding at the castle as well, but we heard nothing of it. Breakfast is nice, nothing special but good. Wellness is nice and clean, a bit small but since there weren't many people beside us, it was sufficient. The restaurant on site was alright, nothing special again, but decent. Parking is plenty and free in front.

If you have never stayed at a castle, this is a must try for a short stay. We stayed one night at the hotel , located within a castle. It has a nice position, atmosphere. You can find free and secure parking, good food and breakfast. What I loved though is the spa area. They have a small pool, jacuzzi, 2 saunas/ cold water basin and relaxation area.

The room is nice but not great and it could be cleaner ( floor specifically).

Air-conditioning, wifi, clean rooms, professional and friendly staff all made for an enjoyable stay. Lots of interesting things to see indoors and outdoors. A tour of the castle was available for a fee. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. We had the opportunity to see a concert and a wedding during our stay. What fun!

beautiful surroundings, amazing atmosphere, beautiful rooms and one of the most beautiful castles. Amazing Dracula's apartment which is a really big surprise and an unconventional solution. I definitely recommend it!

Stayed for a week with my wife and the setting, the castle itself, and the staff were all wonderful. The facilities in the hotel were amazing and there was easy access to the local area. Great room and food at the hotel and well worth the price paid.

We liked pretty much everything :) Wonderful castle, friendly and attentive staff, delicious food in both restaurants. Lots to see and explore in the castle and the grounds around. The interior is richly decorated and revives the castle's old glory. The rooms we had were spacious, beds comfy, breakfast yummy and the pool and hot tub were just the cherry on top :) Would love to come back!
