Mary Popi is a lovely small relaxed family-run hotel in a privileged location with beautiful sea views, comfortable rooms and a lovely pool. This already made for a great start to our holiday but the cherry on the cake for me was the generosity and kindness of our hosts who were welcoming and very helpful without ever being intrusive. The atmosphere here generally was just lovely and relaxed. It felt very safe. We (my 10-year-old daughter and I) both really enjoyed our week at Mary Popi. We had no car but there are 3 fantastic beaches within a short walk with nice places to eat and amazing sunsets. Everybody we met during our stay on Kalynmos was very pleasant and friendly. Next time I would hire a car to explore further afield but we found plenty in this area alone to keep us happy for 7 days. Thank you for a very memorable week on your beautiful island.

First of all, to reach the hotel, you have to use a car or a motorbike as the island of Kalymnos is very mountainous. There are 3-4 rental shops when you get off the ferry. Taxi costs 30€. It was very easy to find because the gentleman I rented the bike described. After the AB markets, left the navel and right behind the kiosk… let's come to our beautiful hotel! very comfortable, clean. the view is beautiful. the owner Georges is incredibly friendly and helpful. Whenever you want, he always chats with you, gives travel advice and even invites you to go for a visit to near places. Apart from these, you can chat about everything like about economy, drinks or life ;) A peaceful, quiet and relaxing hotel. Again, you will need a car or motorbike to reach the sea or to leave the hotel and visit other places, for your information!

Nice and clean rooms with a big terrace to enjoy the sunset. Very convenient with places to hang wet clothes from the beach, a pool amd sunbeds. Small kitchen in the studio with all that‘s needed to have breakfast and cook small meals. Would recommend to stay here!

Nothing. Location is a bit far from most climbing crags, but then again nothing is far in Kalymnos!

Amazing host who made us feel part of the family and supported us in getting to shops, organising mopeds and even showed us around the island! The whole place was always clean and welcoming and our room was cleaned 3x during our 10 day stay.

It’s only a little thing and didn’t really affect our stay that much but we could have done with some more cooking utensils/pots and pans in the kitchen. I guess it depends on how much you actually cook and we made nearly all our meals there.

It was fantastic I did not want to leave

We arrived at about 2:30 am and mr George was waiting there to give us our keys, a bottle of water and some figs.. We had arranged our stay the next day, but since we arrived late the night before on the island, he let us stay in the room, because it was empty, without any additional charge. The place is in a quiet neighborhood and the back rooms are shaded almost all day... A pleasant and friendly family made us feel part of them.

Excellent location close to a very nice beach. Super friendly owners who went the extra mile (and then some) to make our stay the best it could be. Very affordable and very good value for money.

Beds could have been softer, but we had no problems sleeping at all.

The room had everything you could need, kitchen facilities for hot drinks and a fridge (had a hot plate but didn’t use it). Bathroom was clean and always had hot water. Room was cleaned frequently. The property is set behind Platis Yialos beach, which can be reached in minutes by foot which is very convenient. There is a nice pool if you prefer. Very peaceful location. The family are very kind and welcoming, they helped us find a car hire business to help with our visit around the island. There is a mini market just along the road, and a restaurant by the beach. If you’d like more selection you’d need to either travel to Panormos (which can be reached in 20mins by foot, or a few mins by car) or any of the main villages (need transport). We used a taxi to get to and from the port, only 20mins and 15euro.

Personal touch, family oriented owners, early morning coffees and late dinners even in night. They do more than we used to expect :)

Peace, beauty, tranquility, beautiful views. The owners were very friendly and kind and made me feel at home. Basic facilities all very clean. The sunsets from the beach at Platis Gialos beach are spectacular, 5 minutes walk down the hill with 2 beach bars and both doing food, one has a snack bar also halfway up the hill if you want to order food on the way back from the beach to take home. A small kiosk 2 minutes walk away sells the essentials and there's a supermarket a short drive away. I was very comfortable staying there on my own and met some lovely people. 20 minute hilly walk to local village with a couple of lovely restaurants, also walkable to Kantouni and Lenaria beaches but taxis are easy of you don't have a car. Totally quiet and very relaxing. For me, perfect.
