Shamba Village is a gem in the heart of Paje. For the price you pay, you get more than you bargained. The place is well-kept, the outside area has two lovely pools and the staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Our room was huge and it had a fridge, sink and kettle. The bathroom had a basin, toilet and seperate shower. Our rooms were cleaned daily. Our room had an aircon and ceiling fan. Aircons are turned off during the day but the ceiling fan is more than enough. Breakfast was simple and delicious. They also served other food but we did not try it. Overall a truly worthwhile stay. Shamba the small puppy was also so friendly to play with. Take note a walk to the beach is about 1.2km but it was not a problem at all.

The property has beautiful grounds, gorgeous greenery and the decoration is tasteful. The room is huge and so is the bed. There is a little terrace with a cosy sitting area and the room is sprayed for mosquitoes in the evening. The breakfast was very tasty. The staff was helpful and friendly.

We chose this accommodation as it advertised having a restaurant on site. Given it was Ramadan and rainy season, we wanted to stay at a place where we could have a drink or a bite during the day. We only found out the restaurant was closed on arrival and this was an inconvenience, as the cafes/restaurants that were open during the day were quite far, it was rainy and the streets were flooded. Not a pleasant walk. We were told they were about to close Shamba for vacation and that's why they were not running it at 100%.

If you're willing to compromise on the location, booking here will give you all the amenities of a very expensive hotel beach-side, for a fraction of the price. The hotel has a very nice restaurant which serves, among many other things, very good pizza, and has two nice pools. Getting to the beach is a 10-15 minute walk through a generally well-lit and safe area. Room have very large comfortable beds and are kept bug-free.

Please be advised that staff turn off your air conditioning in the day time to preserve power, and will often forget to turn it on again. You then have to find the switch on the outside of your room to get it working again. Air conditioning was one of the main reasons for us to stay here (Zanzibar can get very hot and humid), so that was a bit of a disappointment. Also, the room was advertised with a mini bar, but didn't have one, so we could not store some of the foods we had brought from home.

Shamba Village provided us with the peace and tranquility we needed. It is secluded, yet within easy reach of hustle and bustle of the main street. Our self-contained room had everything we needed, much-needed AC and a fan. There are two swimming pools so whenever the heat became overpowering for us to walk to the beach, we were spoilt for choice, and could relax in either of the pools. Overall, we had a fantastic time and were well-looked after by Sarafina's team. A big shout-out to Lena, who served us with a smile throughout. Can't recommend enough.

For the service we received, we paid next to nothing. We enjoyed everything.

A little oasis in the reasonably busy town of Paje but literally only a few minutes walk to town. The hotel's super friendly staff were outstanding the pools and the quiet was brilliant

It's down a dark lane at night but don't let that put you off the area is safe. Paje unfortunately is strewn with litter such a shame

We loved our stay at Shamba village so much! The real highlight are the staff, who are so genuine and friendly. They made us feel so welcome and kept the place spotlessly clean. The hotel itself is really beautiful, the gardens are stunning. Our room was really spacious and the shower was warm and powerful. We have stayed in Zanzibar for several weeks now and it has easily been our favourite place. It was excellent value for money and wished we could have stayed longer. It's worth noting that it's a little walk away from the beach but we didn't find that a problem as it gave us the chance to explore more of Paje.

The staff were so friendly. Room was spacious and very clean, cleaned daily and towels replaced. Short walk to the beach. Breakfast was lovely. Includes fruit, eggs, and a choice of toast or pancakes. Tea/coffee and juice included.

The room is super big, clean, comfortable. The property has 2 nice pools and it’s very clean and chill. The staff are super nice and attentive. Would definitely stay there again. It’s a bit far from the beach, 15 min walking, but it’s not an issue at all.

The only thing I would suggest is to add more variety in the breakfast.

Shamba Village was nice and cosy. It was only a few minutes away from the beach but in a nice quiet area. Away from any chaos. The owner welcomed me as soon as I arrived and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Network connectivity and wifi range could be better.

We traveled with my mother and my 1 year old baby around zanzibar, Shamba village was the best place we found in zanzibar. The owner made us feel good right away, helped with a perfect baby crib, and chair for him to eat, and everything we needed. The place is beautiful, not so expensive, quiet, super clean, comfortable ! The last day I was not feeling good and she prepared me some juice and soup before we left. They are really really nice people ! Only 10 minutes from the beach which is really ok ! Wifi was good, the shower is perfect, the balcony is super nice, 2 Nice and clean swimming pool, the workers there are super nice ! Thank you so much !!!!
