The villa suite had breathtaking views, and the open-air yoga space above the hills was peaceful and unique. The restaurant deserves special praise — delicious food and one of the most stunning views in the region. Even if you’re just nearby, it’s worth visiting. Maha Hills is a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. Rooms and hotel: We had a beautiful and clean room. The bed was comfortable. The bathtub was big and you can sit outside on a veranda. However, we could not see the rice fields, but trees and the wall of the next room. In case the view is important for you, I recommend to make this clear in your booking. In addition, there was a noisy river (maybe because of the rain?) next to our veranda, but this was not problematic from our perspective (please note my remark regarding the view). The hotel itself is perhaps the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen with a lots of plants and trees. You have to walk approximately 110 stairs to the restaurant and the infinity pool, but it’s worth the effort. You are rewarded with a breathtaking view over the rice fields in the east and the ocean in the north which looks like someone used to Photoshop. Staff: The staff is really nice and helpful. Expect a really warm welcome at the reception. The contact via WhatsApp is uncomplicated and they will help you with all your questions within a few minutes. Location: Maha Hills is located in the hills of Gitgit. After a short walk you are the beautiful rice fields which you can see from the restaurant/pool. You walk approximately 20 minutes to the next waterfall (Aling Aling). As there is nothing else in the area, you need a scooter or a driver to get to all other places. Please note that you have to be an experienced driver, in particular in the raining season. In case you don’t want to organise trips by yourself, the hotel offers many activities and tours (some for free and some against payment). Price: The prices for the room and in the restaurant are reasonable. Only the transport by the hotel is rather expensive and I recommend to ask local drivers for their prices.

The Maha Hills is a very very beautiful resort with the most amazing view over the Rice fields, mountains and forrest. The staff there was very kind and did their best to make the stay comfortable - I was sick and Shirley helped to call a doctor and did what she could to make me feel better - and when I did she offered to give us a traditional Balinese experience with original Balinese clothing and took pictures and videos of us that turned out great - all for free! Definitely recommend 🙌🏼❤️

The location is a little bit far away from anything and the pillows in the bed could be better. After 4 days here my neck hurted

The Views are exceptional. The location is maybe the best you can get in that area as there are not a lot high end alternatives.

The room (though pretty new) was showing wear and tear in every corner. Moldy corner, bathtub faucet loose, toilet constantly flushing, stainy glass at bathroom door etc. The pool area was uninviting as it was not properly set into scene. After coming back from a trip the hotel forgot to offer fruits and coconut what (we realized later on) was included in the package. In total many minor not so serious points, but if you claim to be luxury it should be considered.

Maha Hills is a perfect getaway in the North!! When you arrive at Maha, the first thing is the VIEWS overlooking the mountains, they are breathtaking! Also, they have an infinity pool at the top and it is amazing! The rooms are spacious with a nice terrace and they are clean. The food in the restaurant is very delicious, so big kudos to the people in the kitchen - they defo know what they are doing! And the service is amazing - people working in the resort are very friendly, helpful and warm, so we were very happy about our stay over there! A definite recommendation for the North of Bali!

One of the most amazing stays we have ever had. The privacy, the location, the food, the staff, and the attention to detail, everything was absolutely perfect. Perfect for vegans as you have an entire vegan restaurant with lovely options (including desserts!). I would like to extend my appreciation to Indra who was present with us during one of the private ceremonies. Her kindness and empathy made us feel most comfortable. Additionally, Dayu who was taking care of us at the Somarasa restaurant made our stay feel even more amazing by treating us like true family. Thank you!

Nothing negative. One small detail that didn’t even bother us that much is that sheets had a hint of an unpleasant damp smell which later faded.
