Everything. Warm and friendly staffs. Hats off to the owner who obviously thought about every small things this place has to offer to the guests. The room is spacious and it's very relaxing sitting at the balcony area any time of the day (even at night). Room is always clean, nice and warm when I return. Also, the complimentary mini bar is a big plus. Even the shared pool is warm. It's a bit pricey, but I will be back.

It can be improved. The quality and taste of the food is subpar. Providing delicious food at breakfast is very important as it sets the tone to whether the guests would be dining in or out more often during their stay. For me, I only had their food during breakfast as it's included in the stay. Fried rice isn't great, but the chicken porridge and soto ayam is nice. They do have a live station, which is great but the pastries don't seem to be freshly baked every morning.

A whole cottage in the middle of the forest with a covered balcony that invites everyone to relax. Close to so many waterfalls and temples. Heated pool, restaurant on site and helpful receptionists who can arrange cars with drivers at reasonable prices.

There are lots of stairs, but they have staff who can help with luggage. No lift though, cottages are in the middle of nature. A bit cold and windy in the evening, different climate than the rest of Bali, but this is outside the hotel’s control, just a warning to pack a jacket as well.

Amazing calm location with the jungle view. New stylish villas with great energy. If you are looking for getting lost and connecting with nature but still having high comfort - this is it! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Nothing around the hotel in the walking distance - motorbike necessary. Taxis and motorbike rentals were very expensive - 3-4x more than in Ubud. Don't get confused by the location on the map - the hotel is on the hill very high above the lake - it takes 10 minutes by motorbike to get down to the lake. The whole north side of the lake is forest going sharply up and the hotels are on the top of the hill.

The staff were incredibly helpful, tending to our and our baby’s every need. Special mention to Mangwik <3. The hotel, pool and views are gorgeous, and the food of the restaurant is DELICIOUS. I say that as a Mediterranean who is used to very good food and has often been disappointed by restaurants around Bali with very good reviews. Especially the potato soup, the chicken wrap and the spaghetti carbonara are delicious. The breakfast is incredible, both the amount and variety offered. We can’t get over it, we miss this breakfast so much.

The location is a bit in the middle of nowhere, you can’t really walk anywhere but that’s alright if you’re looking to relax, or you can just order a driver. The staff helps you with that. Other than that I could just say that the portions of the dinner plates are a bit too small, but that seems to be the tendency everywhere in Bali , at least compared to what we get in Europe. Ordering a starter and/off dessert should solve that problem. Which btw, a chocolate option as dessert would be much appreciated!! We’ll be back for sure.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff were exceptionally well-trained, attentive, and polite throughout my visit. A special mention goes to Peni, who offered outstanding service at the restaurant, ensuring every detail was perfect. The food was amazing, and the breakfast experience was truly delightful. As someone with food allergies, I greatly appreciated how seriously the staff took my concerns. They always double-checked information and proactively provided safe alternatives when needed The swimming pool was set at a perfect temperature, offering a beautiful view to relax. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall, a great experience—I highly recommend it!

The bed linens had stains, but it was nothing that affected the quality of my stay.

Stunning location nestled in the hills in north Bali, very attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome from check in to check out. Superb food for dinner and breakfast, very high quality that went beyond our expectations. The villa was perfect, very spacious and beautifully laid out with everything thought through and a complimentary mini bar. Heated swimming pool was also a bonus, as it was a little chilly in the evening! It was lovely to relax in the pool as the sun set. Would definitely recommend!

Positioned on a hill there’s some inevitable steps to climb up and down to the villas, so something to bear in mind if that’s an issue for you.

My stay at Giriwood Hotel & Villa was magical! The hotel rooms were luxurious villas, harmoniously blending into the surrounding nature. The view from the terrace of sunsets and sunrises was especially impressive. Additionally, the hotel service was impeccable. The professional and friendly staff were always ready to help and make my stay as comfortable as possible. Giriwood Hotel & Villa became a real refuge for me from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and I took away an unforgettable experience from there. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Everything! The room was big, well equipped and with a nice view of the forest around. The staff was amazing from the moment we arrived until we left, they did everything to be sure that our stay was great. The food at the restaurant is nothing short of excellent! Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it is very good and affordable, which is a plus! The view from the heated pool is soothing. It was definitely our favorite place out of our 3 week-stay on the island. Thank you everyone, especially Ngurah & Giri :)

The game area could benefit from a little makeover (material is a little used).

Stayed in a twin bed room and it was very clean and had good amenities (safe, hair dryer, toothbrush, comb, shampoo & conditioner, etc). Very friendly and helpful staff - helped me organise a driver in no time. Dinner was really yummy. They have a heated pool and proper sun loungers. Unfortunately there was no air con in the room - even though weather is cooler, there is still moisture in the air. Location - not in Munduk but booking still suggested it.

The villas were beautiful, very spacious and clean. Giriwood has a lot of amenities like the swimming pool, ping pong & billiard table, and a TV with Netflix account in each room. The snacks and water bottles in our room were replenished daily, which we found a really nice gesture. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, we basically only ate in the restaurant of Giriwood.

We were very happy with the location, but it is a bit far from anything else, so I can imagine it is not for everybody. Best mode of transportation is a scooter (which can be rented at Giriwood) or private driver. Grabs don't reach the area.
