My recent stay in Kolkata at the Raajkutir a british-indian establishment was nothing short of magical. I arrived expecting a comfortable, well-located hotel, and what I received was an experience that truly captured the spirit of the city reflecting the old days. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the staff's warmth was palpable. Check-in was swift and efficient, and I was immediately struck by the beautiful, traditional decor that blended seamlessly with modern amenities. My room was upgraded in the Premium Suite which was spacious, impeccably clean and with a living room .The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail, and the amenities were premium selected. What truly set the property apart, however, was the exceptional service and the warmth of the people. Upon departure they gave us a memento from your trip which was unexpected and incredibly thoughtful gesture that made me feel truly valued as a guest celebrating a special occasion. The Raajkutir hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of its beautiful ambiance, excellent service, and thoughtful surprise made my stay in Kolkata unforgettable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a truly special experience in the heart of this vibrant city.

1. It’s a heritage property with a history behind it. Which makes it a special place compared to a regular hotel 2. There is a cultural performance every evening highlighting the local culture 3. Rooms are comfortable 4. Staff at the entrance, reception and housekeeping are very nice 5. Location is fantastic 6. There is a sit out area at the Center of the hotel where you can spend sometime in the evening with nice weather 7. There was a flute performance every day during breakfast which was very nice

1. Addition of shower gel and shampoo dispenser to the bathroom could make it more convenient 2. Service during breakfast was great on the first day but on the last day we felt like the staff was ignoring us. Our order was served to someone else and there were long delays for other orders. The staff seemed to be focused on the big group of customers 3. The flute performer was really good but he could be provided a proper place like a small stage 4. The ambience of the breakfast room does not match the quality of the rest of the hotel

Everything about this property was great . Excellent staff I was down from Dubai so I am kind of hard to impress but it was a great stay.

No late checkouts which was quite annoying as I stayed for 10 days so I think this should be more flexible when already have lots of rooms available that will in turn build customer happiness and loyalty. Food wasn’t upto the mark. Not at all 5 star standard. I was surprised when I ordered kolkatta biryani it was undercooked with no masala nor flavor and there were 100x better biryanis available outside which we relished for all 10 days. So please look into this. Below average

It's a nice building and aesthetically pleasing and I enjoyed the pool. My favourite thing was a flute player every morning, so it was possible to sit outside in the shade of the morning listening to a lovely melody at breakfast time. The evening entertainment was the same everyday! Very Groundhog Day - interesting once or twice but then repetitious, though amusing the first time. I'd encourage the management to consider some variation.

I was delighted to see the display for Earth Day, which was charming, but the hotel isn't very ecological. Firstly, they replace towels whereas a lot of hotels only replace towels if they are left on the floor and supply a little note asking guests to leave towels on the floor if they want fresh ones. Secondly, there is a lot of plastic use (consider giving guests a reusable water breaker/flask and installing fill-up points for filtered water which could be chilled and therefore nicer than the warm water in plastic in the rooms). Thirdly, my dressing gown was whisked off for cleaning as soon as I used it, whereas I'd have been happy to have worn it the entire week...

Overall the hotel is very pleasant. Our evening meals were delicious and cooked to perfection. A pool with loungers would have been pleasant but we were so busy sightseeing it probably didn’t matter. The pool looked lovely but was only really suitable for swimming lengths.

The bathroom in our room seriously needs updating. It was big enough for both a walk in shower and a bath tub. I really struggled to get in and out of the bath to shower and found it very difficult to actually get under the shower! Plus the bath surround is very dingy because of the years of water flowing on it. That is my only complaint.

The property is very nice and exceptionally clean, with polite staff who are always ready to help.

As a guest at a five-star property, I would like to highlight two areas where improvements could enhance the overall experience: 1. Check-in Process: I was uncomfortable with the reception team taking pictures of our passports using their personal/duty phones during check-in. Ideally, hotel should have a dedicated passport scanning system with PMS. Or may have been out of service at the time. 2. Gym Facilities: The gym is quite small and offers very limited equipment. It seems suitable for only 3 to 4 people at a time, which does not align with the standards typically expected at a five-star property. That said, we truly enjoyed our stay overall and appreciated the hospitality.

Lovely room, easily accessible, comfortable. Great food at dinner and breakfast. Excellent entertainment, traditional dancers every weekday evening at 6pm, with drinks and snacks complimentary during the show. Bathroom good, although no shower door so water splashed across the floor. Loved having the swimming pool available.

Make sure you book with breakfast if you want it. A G&T is VERY expensive, although delicious and they do have tonic. Kolkata is very spread out with not much of a centre so we needed to travel to places of interest. Taking an Uber is easy and inexpensive. Not sure there would have been a better site to stay, however.

a beautiful Bengali heritage boutique hotel that has set a very high standards across Kolkata. The check-in experience was smooth; rooms immaculate; breakfast buffet absolutely scrumptious with various cuisines from different regions of India and the F&B staff that made sure everyone was seamlessly catered to; the location was absolutely gorgeous and meditative with a massive area surrounded by lustrous green. The entire staff is the epitome of hospitality including the security personnel Kunal at the entrance. I and my wife had a wonderful time and wish to visit again.

Okay where do i begin, location- tucked back very nicely away from the hustle bustle of the city Checkin- the walk to the insides of the hotel is also beautiful, the waiting area is very well decorated. Checkin was quite easy. I think we had an early checkin too Room and amenities- top notch, stands true to its 5 star rating. Property- asthetically beautiful, lot of attention details. Swimming pool- extra points for the most beautiful pool. We used steam as well, very rejuvenating Staff- very courteous and well spoken. Always smiling and helpful Food- we had breakfast buffet, well organised, all kinds of food was available and we enjoyed thoroughly. But we had lunch in one of the restaurants, food was tasty but tad bit expensive
