The rooms and bungalows are located in a beautiful tropical garden, just a few meters from the beach and the centre of the village. Everything is in walking distance - traveling with children, we appreciated that a lot. The owner is really friendly, helpful and relaxed, and so are the people working there. I believe these are the main reasons why we enjoyed our stay there so much. Every room has its own terrace with dark wooden chairs and tables, from ours we had ocean view. Two pools connected by a waterfall are open until late evening, the upper one is good for the children as well. Beds are comfortable, with the wind from the sea temperatures go down at night, and in the morning you can get a free cup of coffee at the reception - what more to expect? Strongly recommend it for people who are looking for an authentic experience!

I had a lovely time here, thank you everyone! Lovely guys on reception, and the cleaning lady, everyone super friendly. Big thanks to Jose for saving me from a scorpion that fell on my bed one night! It's a beautiful property, great views and beautiful gardens and close to town. Lots of storage places in the room, including littles clotheslines outside to hang things to dry which was super appreciated and not something I've come across often.

Only major issue I had were noisy neighbours in the cabana next to me, and sometimes other guests playing videos and things out loud by the pool, which was super annoying when you're just trying to chill and read a book. My only other suggestion would be to have some tables somewhere on the property. I was working remotely while there and had to always work either sitting on the bed or with my laptop in my lap, which wasn't very comfortable. I'm sure most people don't work while they're there, but a couple of tables would be great anyway!

Loved this hotel - the location is fantastic - on a hill with sea views but the town with bars and restaurant starts outside the hotel and the beach is 3 minutes walk! The staff were amazing - Gabriel was kind and chatty, and upgraded us for free to a better room away from the street noise, helped bring our bags from the car as well as respond to our many random requests ( a knife to cut fruit we bought from the market, and bags of ice for my mothers sprained ankle). The rooms are lovely - so clean, beautifully decorated with decks, sun loungers and hammocks, and the bed was the comfiest we slept in during our whole trip. The 2 pools are clean and a nice way to finish the day surrounded by butterflies. The free coffee and biscuits in the morning are great, and all you need with so many restaurants on the doorstep. Highly recommend!

Parking is a few minutes away up a steep hill - but the team are so helpful with bags etc that it didn't matter at all.

Beautiful, lush garden up a hill with individual bungalows. We had the last one and it felt very special to wake up to the glistening sea on the horizon and the movement of iguana walking on the roof or past the stones. The pool was refreshing and nice to have a morning and evening swim. The howler monkeys were greeting us at random hours just above the property with their howls. The service personal was super friendly and very helpful.

One night it was very loud for very long as there was a jungle rave party going on in town and the noise travelled upward. It’s not the hotels fault and all of the village was dancing and affected.

Advised me to check on weather of the day before booking Isla Tortuga tour, warn me on weather for waterfall hike, even made me a song (with AI)! Truly vibing the friendly and chill energy of CR. Pool is fine. good for a quick dop after a hot day. Location is right by everything in the small town - beaches (3mins walk), tours operators, massage, good, supermarket, waterfall (15mins walk to trailhead). Only thing is the last stretch by the hostel is right on the main road with no much street light or sidewalks. saw how long monkeys right outside my room the last day.

Room with AC is fine but not great water pressure or warm, does not bother me for the weather, but would be perfect once it has been fixed.

Very friendly staff, they went the extra mile to accommodate our needs. We weren’t happy with our room due to the AC placement and a personal neck injury that is aggravated by cold air, so the staff upgraded us at no extra cost. They were very helpful in recommending places to visit and excellent restaurants.

Our room was right on the street, so it was a bit noisy. To be fair the hotel description mentioned it is located in a busy area. Also there were no safes in the rooms but a safe at reception was available and convenient.

The location was great, right in the middle of town. The staff was the best part. Gabriel was the most helpful and friendly of any staff member I’ve met in a long time. He was helpful since the beginning, before we even got to the hotel, and all throughout our stay. The WiFi wasn’t great, but there were bananas, coffee, and water in the entrance, which was really nice. The rooms on the street can be a bit noisy, but we were enjoying the street view as there are patios with chairs to sit on out there. The AC was phenomenal and there was hot water. It was a little pricey, as it was comparable to hotel rooms in the US, but this is not uncommon in Costa Rica. The staff was amazing, thank you for everything!

The property was quite lovely. It was clean and pleasant. The pool was wonderful to relax by. We had a balcony and would sit out early morning or late evening. The staff was exceptional . They went out of their way to help with whatever we needed. The room was cleaned everyday and cute towel animals were left on the bed every other day. It was fun to watch the monkeys in the trees and walking along the telephone wires. It was a very relaxing atmosphere.

The complaint we would have was it was noisier than expected. The bar next door would play live music until 2-2:30 in the morning and the sound would come right through the walls. Even with ear plugs. The motorcycles were loud as were the 4 wheelers. This is out of the property’s control. We do enjoy a little more quiet when we vacation. However El Jardin was very comfortable.

This hotel is stunning, we felt we were in a movie. The pool and gardens were gorgeous and just outside our room, which felt private and tucked away. Breakfast was coffee or tea with banana(s) and biscuits which we helped ourselves to from reception and enjoyed in our outdoor chairs. The staff/manager was friendly and very helpful, he even came round to show us some coral brought in from the sea. The room was amazing and luxurious with European-style comfort and decor. Montezuma is well worth visiting too!

Unfortunately the mattress was uncomfortable, possibly foam, unforgiving, otherwise we would have given 5 stars.

Wonderful facilities nestled in hillside, pools are bliss, everything exceptionally clean and staff very helpful indeed and easy to contact. Free coffee and bananas at reception. Location is 100m from beach and nestled in heart of Montezuma. Excellent to cool off in the jungle set pools after a day at the beach. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby.

The couple of rooms near the street front are a little noisy during rush hour. But the rest of the time are quiet and are a lovely viewing terrace to see monkeys and the activity of the sleepy town. We were warned of the noise before and asked if we would mind, which we didn’t, both early risers anyway. There are other rooms set back into the hillside to choose from if it bothers you. Great stay!
