I had dinner here in 2024 with my partner and I was so impressed that I came back to stay for three nights this year with a friend. What impressed me last year was the friendliness and the professionalism of the staff, all of whom are absolutely top notch and they all work as a team (it was in the middle of a heatwave when we stayed - despite what must have been tough conditions in the kitchen they stuck on a smile and got on with it!). Food is exceptional - absolutely loved it.

Nothing really. It was during a severe heatwave throughout Europe. The team do their best with fans (they are a good size and filled with cold water) but it was warm despite their best efforts but that will be true of pretty much all hotels in the regions.

This hotel is just stunning inside and out, I prefer smaller private hotels to large chains, and this one was perfect. We were travelling by motorcylce and this Hotel had a garage for them which is always a bonus, although I suspect you could park any vehicle in the centre of Vianden with they keys in the ignition and it would still be there the next day (Note: I do not take responsibility if anyone decides to test this theory) The apperance of the Hotel is stunning inside and out, and the rooms are really nice, and I would imagine very one a slightly different size and shape due to the nature of the building, but it seems a lot of thought has been put into making them nice. When we arrived @7PM it was packed with people eating, and made where to eat an easy decision as the food looked great - and was. The staff were excellent, getting us checked in quickly and opening the garage for us to store the motorbikes. It is only a short walk into the town centre where there are many shops, cafes and restaurants, and the Hotel is just beneath the Castle so perfectly places for tourist activities. Cannot comment on breakfast as the Hotel was closed the day after our stay, but there is a bakery just down the hill and we were told we could chekc out whenever we liked, so we wandred down to the Bakery and brought food back to eat at Hotel. We will definately be returning.

We arrived from Rotterdam on our motorbikes very wet. Within 10 minutes our bikes had been locked in their garage and we were unloaded and in our room. The Auberge is a stunning building and our room was warm and cosy. It over looked the road but there wasnt much road noise until the village started to wake up in the morning but we did sleep with the window open. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind, nothing was too much trouble for them including the Irish coffees while we dried off. We ate in the restaurant that night and the food was great.

Staff very friendly and good with our kids, rooms very well appointed and comfortable, food in restaurant very tasty and generous portions...and perfect location for a one-night stopover in Vianden, close to everything you'd want to see.

It was very hot in the rooms (the day had been 30-degrees plus) and although there were small, plug-in air conditioning units provided these did not cool the room below 28 degrees in the night. This was quite challenging with two young children! But I'm not sure anything else could have been done given the heatwave.

It has a great ambience and lovely features within the restaurant, bedding fantastic best I've slept on, great helpful staff warm and friendly

Hummm, well, our night was interrupted by other guests talking washing using their toilets. The walls are like paper ,above our bed( room 6), there is a smoke detector that flashed a red light all night ( moving this detector to another part of the room would be a good idea 💡) ,the breakfast provided by the hotel was not worth the 12 euro 50 price tag, I have been to worse hotels and received better breakfast for less .

I was with five friends on a motorcycle tour of Belgium and Luxembourg and we based ourselves in Vianden for two nights to ride the Northern section of Luxembourg. Henri was a faultless host. He could not have done more for us. From being there to greet us as we arrived and ensuring we were always contented. The hotel/restaurant is a period building with loads of original features and set in a cobbled street. The rooms are upstairs so bear this in mind. Clean rooms with space to dry out wet kit. Clean bathrooms with great pressure showers. Comfortable beds. Continental breakfast - eggs, rolls, ham, cheese, jams, etc. Great fresh coffee. Secure motorcycle parking for our six large bikes - free and normally EU10 per night each. A short walk from the river with its bars/restaurants. We ate at the hotel - The food was great - The place was packed every night so others agree. One of our group knows his steaks and said that the sirloin was cooked perfectly as requested. Any little things are so trivial they're not worth mentioning. Definitely a first choice return to venue for us. We wandered down to the river after dinner and had a few beers in the Victor Hugo Hotel bar to watch France v Belgium in the Euros. A nice place and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Nothing.

Staff, led by Henri are exceptional. We were greeted at the door like friends and it continued from there. Made to feel very welcome. A group of 6 bikers, we got somewhere to store our bikes and were given drinks and food straight away. One of us had ot leave a day early and Henri said if he could resell the room, he'd refund us - and he did. Very relaxed and easy going, staff effortlessly friendly and welcoming. The food is really good quality, fresh and well cooking, no matter what you have, but people say the grill is the best. Well, the fondue is excellent and again, a fair price. For a hotel of this type, it's the best I've ever stayed in and the prices, for what you gety are excellent.

Having to leave.

If you're considering spending a night or two in Vianden, I highly recommend you do. The hotel is Located right by the bus stop! Super easy to reach from Luxembourg. Close to the castle walk up entrance too. It's interesting in that the inn is located above a very busy restaurant, so you must wander through the guests dining to reach your room. The gentleman who was seemingly always working was very kind.

Everything was great. It was really cold in our room, but we did stay end of February.

Just the most picturesque location and a lovely rustic hotel! The food there is also superb. Amazing dinner, worth every penny. I recommend this location for anyone looking for a special short getaway.

There is no lift, so travel light. If, like us, it's an in-between stay, pack an overnight bag, and leave the big suitcase in the car ;). The mattress was a bit too soft in one of our rooms, but everyone has their preference!

It's located in the most idyllic place, just below the castle. The building is very old (dating back to 1683a.d.) and breathes nostalgia, with dark wooden beams, slate floors and low doors. Breakfast is good, staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. However, their dinner is the stuff of gods. Try their woodfire grilled steaks or their cheese fondue and you will keep coming back for more.

The building goes as far back as 1683, which also brings with it a bit of noise. So be aware of sounds spilling over from one room to another.
