Usually, I don't submit reviews on the second or third stay, but I will make an exception with the Villa Mazarin. The hotel is truely on of my all-time favorites. Everything is more welcoming an luxurious than you would expect. The rooms are very, very comfortable, the staff quite professional and friendly. And the pool and garden area a sootening oasis in the Camarque on a hot Summers day. It just makes you relax instantly and puts a smile on your face. I would never consider any other hotel in Aigues-Mortes.

The room was spacious and with generous bathroom amenities. There are parking facilities and breakfast but these are additional costs. The periodic decor of the hotel is enchanting. Staff were generally helpful.

There is no lift in the hotel which means dragging suitcases up two flights of stairs and higher if on the second floor! It would be useful to have staff available to assist guests with this. Finding space to park the car in front of the hotel when unloading the luggage upon arrival was problematic. E-mails sent by us directly to the hotel did not arrive.

Hotel is very lovely and charming; staff was excellent, restaurant was terrific.

Room was odd. It was large, but no privacy, even in bath or toilet areas, which have no walls or doors. Room has no windows, but just big glass wall to garden and a door in the glass wall. There were basically no windows, so only way to get air was to leave door to garden open. While there were drapes, to close them shut out all light and air. But without the drapes, everything was visible to the people in the garden, including your bed and the back of the room where the toilet, shower, and bath were. While the room was beautifully appointed and apparently I was "upgraded", I would have preferred a smaller, more conventional room with privacy and windows.

What a wonderful hotel in the heart of the beautiful town of Aigues-Mortes! The hotel is down a narrow street in the town with private parking which was excellent and easily accessible. The receptionist was excellent and helped us with restaurant recommendations as the hotel restaurant was fully booked the first night we arrived and also gave us tips on the best places to visit. The room was very large, with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. The ambience at the hotel was fantastic and totally in keeping with the setting in Aigues-Mortes. We didn't eat at the restaurant but did have drinks in the bar area which was very pleasant.

Everything! The friendly and helpful staff especially Jean Philippe the concierge. He could not have been more obliging. The location within the city was a plus as we were near the centre of the medieval city but it was quiet. Our room overlooked the garden and it made for a very restful space. We didn’t use the spa facilities but would hope to return and use them in the future. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The garden was a bonus…. a quiet contemplative place to sit and read and listen to the birds and the fountain. The underground parking was great because it was secure and cool and on street parking is limited.

This hotel has old world charm but doesnt feel old, on the contrary it has a lux vibe with quality antiques in the main spaces and rooms and baths that are modern. Staff was attentive, breakfast was from a menu which I prefer to a buffet and the selections were very nice. The champagne and bar staff both were good and the location just inside the walls of the city and close to the old town center was perfect. Parking in the building was offered and appreciated.

I have no complaints.

The building was beautiful and steeped in history. The room were spacious comfortable and nicely decorated in a traditional Provençal style. Our stay was made memorably good by the friendly and helpful staff who clearly enjoyed working there. The location inside the walls of Aigues Mort was perfect and had its own underground car park.

The pillows were a bit strange and small. The restaurant was closed for dinner when we stayed there.

Extremely good service. Room very large. Breakfast was copious, fresh and served to my table. My own outdoor seating area set in lovely gardens. Private parking easy to find. Hotel was central; didn't need to use the car during my stay. Overall..... wonderful

Slightly off-putting having an 'open plan' toilet - but I was on my own; so, not a problem for me. Without drawing the heavy curtains, inside of room was probably visible from anyone passing in front. A pity that the restaurant was closed during my stay,

La Villa Mazarin is in a beautiful setting with genuine old world charm. Our room was spacious and CLEAN with a super comfy bed. The bathroom was fabulous! Outside our room was a sitting area over looking a garden patio area with a fountain flowing into a goldfish pond. The staff was gracious and helpful. It would be difficult to top the location. You are in a walled town with shops and restaurants within easy strolling distance. There seems to be something beautiful around every corner. Right by the hotel is a path that leads to a board walk that goes along the water offering stunning views.

Driving in this little walled town is a bit tricky. The streets are quite narrow and when we arrived, there was no place to pull off the street in front of the hotel. It would be helpful to have more information about arriving by car.

We loved the location within a short walking distance of the center of the beautiful fortified city and the colonial charm of the hotel.

No effort was made beforehand to smooth the registration and parking process (which was a nightmare). The tea/coffee facilities in the room were not worthy of a 4* hotel and neither was the reception area and service (I didn’t expect to have to carry the ironing board and iron I requested to our room).
